I was able to make an appointment the next day and had a full inspection done. In a few hours I was given the estimate to fix the transmission lines. I told them I had planned to sell the jeep for my daughter, so spending more $$$ on that jeep wasn't probably worth it. They told me they tightened up and fixed some leaks in the exhaust sytem, vacuumed the jeep, cleaned the windows and left a new bottle of armor all between the seats. The best part of all...they didn't charge me a dime. Wow...thank you so much. A+

I needed four new tires. What a bummer! Mine were down to 1/32 and 2/32 so prior to an upcoming…read moreroad trip, I didn't want to take any chances. I had planned to go with a shop in Eugene, however, a co-worker convinced me to check out Shervins before making a decision. I had researched tires before calling the store and the associate was very helpful. I gave him an idea of what I was looking for and also tires I didn't think met my expectations. He agreed! After a few minutes on the phone, we decided upon a set which he said could be delivered by the following business day. Perfect timing! The tires arrived as promised, he called when they came in and I headed down to get them installed. Not only did I receive a great price, but there was a rebate available too. They printed an extra copy of the receipt for me to make it easy to submit. Now, that's customer service. The inside, sales floor/waiting room is super cute! They've converted old cars into seating and it's decorated in 50's nostalgia. Overall, I had an excellent experience.

While there, I made an appointment for 10 am the next week. I arrived early, and the middle-aged employee told me it would take about an hour and a half for an oil change and radiator flush. I told them that I would take a walk and grab a coffee. An hour and fifteen minutes later, I returned to the shop and noticed that my truck was still exactly where I had parked it. The employee said that " he wasn't sure what was going on back there, but that they should get to it when the mechanic is finished with another job ". I asked him, wasn't that what scheduling an appointment is for? For which I received a shrug of the shoulders and a blank stare. Not only have they lost a car care customer for years to come, but I now will be buying my tires from Les Schwab. Maybe a little more money, but at least decent customer service. I was a licensed auto dealer in Oregon and California for over 25 years. I've been involved with,…read moreat many levels, lots of dealers, new cars, used cars and wholesale, in both states and even written a book (years ago) on how to survive this industry and if at all possible, avoid it altogether. The practices used my so many dealers, both new-car and used, is not an enviable one and the well-deserved reputation brought upon this profession is an unfortunate and difficult thing to deal with for the few decent individuals and companies that do exist. And now the good news! Florence, Oregon is honored to have one of the very best of these few decent companies that I've ever come across. I've only been lucky enough to have lived here since 2017, but have done business with Johnston Motor Company a few times now regarding my trusty 2004 Ranger. And then last week, I found the exact used car I've been looking for now for a few months, and every one of the folks I talked to in the process of "making the deal" have been just amazing. My well-tuned built-in BS Sensor still works very well, and the needle didn't even wiggle the whole time! These folks are my friends and neighbors here and I was treated as one of them. On this particular car, a like-new 2016 Ford Edge, my out the door cost was nearly identical to the figure I had in mind would be my offer, so no haggling was involved. The whole transaction was a pleasant interchange. The staff (that I met there, about five of them) all live here on the beautiful Oregon Coast, some all their lives, they seem to know everybody in town, and when I left there with my new ride I felt more like I'd just shared a get-together with neighbors than having survived a car purchase. I've received the same level of performance from the service department, plus having my Ranger repaired there was the same kind of experience. So any of you folks, neighbors or visitors, Johnston Motor Company has my recommendation - in case I haven't made that clear yet! Skip Thomsen Florence
