On a roadtrip up the coast my Sprinter Van started a squealing sound that progressively got worse. I stopped by this shop and although they don't work on Sprinters, the team stopped what they were doing to go check out my van. They determined it was most likely the fan belt - which looked fine, but they are known to squeak/squeal. They lubed the belt up and the sound disappeared. I have been going through them for about a year now and have been recommending them to everyone that asks since. I have gone through a couple other places in town before finding Metric and will Never go back. All the work they have ever done for me has been perfect. Their expertise not only comes from the fact they have done it all before but because they possess general intelligence which other shops strangely lack. Because of their reputation they have steady clientele and have no need or desire to price gouge. They have never had a problem with me bringing in my-own parts to be installed and are always completely honest and respectful to me no matter how major or minuscule the work. I have a 95' BMW 325ic which I maintain myself whenever possible. But the car is so low to the ground there are things they can do in 20-minutes with their lift which would take 2-hours for myself to do. Day 1 they went above and beyond diagnosing a acceleration hesitation which would only happen when the car was fully warmed up and hitting 3000rpm. A very Stop & Go time consuming process. In the end, I was charged a small fee for the troubleshooting and the price of an ignition coil which I couldn't have found for cheaper. Thousands of miles later and no sign of hesitation. I've had a few other things done since but I think I've said enough. They are the best. read more

They have had nothing but good to say, and as stated... even when it's been hard to hear, Metric Motorworks has been honest with them. It's never my desire to purposefully give a bad or negative review, especially when there is much good to say, if even on a close family member's behalf, if witnessed first hand. So today, I stand and applaud THIS particular business owner for taking the straightforward, honest, and explanative route to a less than glowing review. These guys are awesome! I had a foot module replaced on my bmw and I have to say that they really went out of their way to get it done fast and not to mention a very great price. In price checked other bmw shops and they are by far the best price. And they are friendly to top it off. I know they are the only bmw shop in CB but even if there was another shop I'd bring my business to them every time. I left happy, they don't take you for repairs that aren't needed costing more money. I cannot praise this company enough. Respectful, kind, knowledgable people and service is becoming less and less accessible. Metric Motorworks exceeds customer service expectations. I would bring my car here for all my service need if I lived in the area. Here's my story...... I was visiting to the area in August with my son for a fishing expedition. On my way to the charter company, my Mini Cooper lost power and warning lights were flashing. I asked the locals working at the dock for a recommendation. The first place was closed. Although they advertise free diagnostics, the large autos parts store does not run diagnostic. They sent me to the guy up the street a bit. Not only did this man send me away but, was so rude I was in melt down mode by the time I left. I am never in meltdown mode. He did not give me a chance to speak. He shut me down and said he was too busy to take on another vehicle. As I was pulling away busy rude guy, to his credit, told me to try "Metric Motors" saying "John" may be able to help. By the time I made it to Metric Motorworks I was a little upset. Ok that is an understatement. I was in tears which is so unusual my child was staring at me in awe. John was a God send. He fixed my Mini, did not charge me an astronomical rate, communicated the issues in terms that were explanative and was not appalled by my tears (even though I was). John told me the part I needed was not one he had ever had to ordered before but he just happened to have the part on a shelf awaiting a different client scheduled for service the following week. Had he not had this part, it would have taken until the following Monday to get it delivered. In about one hour this man's compassion saved my bacon. I could have hugged him. Many thanks to John and his team. I am so grateful. read more

This is a small three man crew that knows what they're doing. I can't suggest them enough. I had a broken cable under my hood, so my hood wouldn't pop. I had taken the vehicle to three different locations and had several friends and associates look and inspect the vehicle to try and figure out how to fix this. No such luck. John took probably thirty seconds of messing with the car to say, "I'll order new cables and get this done in about two hours." On top of this, I had a car battery replaced in August over at Import Experts. The battery had already died since they failed to register the battery correctly to my car's computer. Sure enough, John fixed that problem along with a few other things - at a cheaper price. Quickly, I should add. John and his crew are dependable and they're the only place I'm going to take my car to from now on. I can't thank them enough for the great job they've done. read more

Much to my dismay my mechanic of 20 years closed his doors, referring me to Metric Motorworks. Our initial contact was via phone, car died, towed to Metric. I was called with each step, in getting my car back in safe, running condition. Seems it was in "rough shape." The car was road tested before returned, found to have other issues that were taken car of. Vehicle returned, I turned the key...... it felt like it did when I bought the car over 15 years ago. The day before we were planning to return from Bandon to SF, our Volvo died. I spoke with John, the owner, and we had it towed to Metric. Within a couple of hours they had diagnosed it and were able to do a temporary fix to get us home, as the part had to be specially ordered and would take 7-10 days. We greatly appreciated Metric finding a solution that enabled us to get home as quickly as possible and at a reasonable cost. While we hope we won't have problems when we're in Bandon in the future, if we do, we now know who we can count on for help! read more

I had been having ongoing issues with my Jetta and didn't know if they were related or different issues all together. I took it to a shop in town that kept giving me the run around and was paying a pretty penny for them to continue to look at it and tell me nothing was wrong. I finally decided it was time to try Metric Motorworks and I am so glad I did. I told them all the issues the car was having, they told me they would run a diagnostic test to see if anything showed. One issue I was having they said didn't show anything in the testing, but they STILL looked for it and had a recommendation. Ever since they have worked on the car it runs so much better and I can tell the difference. I'm on the road so much I have to have mechanics I trust. My car will NEVER be worked on again by any other mechanics, it will continue to go to Metric Motorworks. They listen, they are honest, and do great work.
