Ordered the chicken tikka masala for delivery and it was... okay. Not bad, but definitely not memorable either. The flavors were pretty one-dimensional - nothing really stood out or made it special. Might try other dishes from their menu, but probably won't be ordering this particular one again.

Another great experience at Jaipur, this time we order the Jaipur mix grill and it came sizzling...soooo delicious! Kevin is our favorite, he is so servicial and friendly, he got us drinks (passion fruit martini and Madras mojito) both very good! The Bollywood music was playing, always a fun time at Jaipur palace!

The Afghanistan chicken tandoori is very dry. The curry is delicious. They forgot 1 of our rice but they quickly resolved it.

The 2 pieces of Ras Malai which were like $8... they were also on the soggy side by the time we got to dessert :(

This place is pretty decent, but not for dessert (at least to me). I love Indian food and wanted to try a South Austin place other than my go-to, so we opted to order food to pick up from here. We got butter chicken, chicken 65 (both dishes came with rice), and an order of ras malai. The entrees were all great, I can't say they're better than my other spot but they were close enough I would call them equivocal! The portion sizes were pretty good too. The aspect where I had an issue was the ras malai... in the picture on the online order menu, it shows like 4-5 pieces, and the cost was almost $8. When we picked up the food, it was only 2 pieces!!! I've gotten 2 pieces of ras malai from my fabulous food truck go-to spot for like $3, so I was pretty disappointed this place charges so much for just 2 pieces. They were also a bit soggy by the time we got to eating them :( I can't really comment on the service because we ordered pick up, but the food was certainly ready when we arrived and they got it to us quickly so presumably no issue there! The interior of the restaurant is like a slightly more upscale fast food place so it wouldn't be bad to eat there, but it's a lunch vibe, not a nice dinner vibe. I'm glad we just ordered food for take out. Overall: because I love ras malai and I don't like their price, I'm not planning to come back here. But if asked about just the entrees or a place to grab lunch, if you're in the area, it'll do just fine!

Simple place with good service and good food. The Jaipur Mix Grill is a really good value ~ $25 for look how much! I had my first bite of salmon tikka in that dish and it was really good. The salad was very fresh and light and really nice complement for the other heavier food. The Amritsari kulcha was sooo yummy, kind of like a soft paneer paratha. I will 100% be ordering these dishes again. My least favorite thing was the paneer biryani. It was a bit too spicy and moist for what a medium spice level biryani should be. It tasted a bit like a spicy paneer gravy was just mixed into and cooked with rice.

Have been here a couple of times and the food and service has been great! It is your typical suburban strip mall restaurant with pretty nice decor. Of all the Indian restaurants I have been to, their mixed grill platter is outstanding! It has everything from all sorts of kakab to tandoori shrimp and salmon. The portion is huge. Daal makhani, palak paneer and the naans and kulchas were also delicious. Mango lassi is refreshing, not too sweet. Service was attentive even when the restaurant was super busy on Valentine's Day!

I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. This definitely has to be my favorite Indian food place in the south Austin area! I loved the variety of options that they have and the food was just delicious! I ended up getting the vegetable tikka masala, and I have been wanting to go back there every day since. They recommended I pair it with the garlic bread and that was the perfect combo! It was a Tuesday evening when we went and there was plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor and we were served our food within 10 to 15 minutes from ordering. Since this is located in the South Park Meadows shopping center there is plenty of parking and finding the location is very easy. Haley recommend, can't wait until I can go back !

I was craving Indian food so I went to this place. This is my second time going there after about a year. The first time was fine. However, this time around was a disappointment. I ordered lamb vindaloo and I only got maybe 4 to 5 pieces of lamb cubes and the rest were potatoes and vegetables. The basmati rice was also a little dry. The sauce was good and the service was decent. For the $23 including tip, I don't think it is worth going back unless they improve this place.

We frequent the Thai place next door, but have always smelled the delicious Indian spices coming from next door. Today we finally gave it a try. Service was nice and friendly. The vibe of the restaurant is very nice and more "fancy" of a sit-down restaurant with the water goblets and fabric napkins. The food was fantastic! Especially enjoyed the gobi manchurian and the samosa chaat. The butter chicken and saag were both great too. Will happily return!

The ambiance is casual. I would prefer to order to-go. They made their cocktails too wet, not strong enough. I've been advised to order straight liquor here instead of cocktails in the future. Service was adequate. The food is pretty standard, but they hit the spot.

This is the only Indian food I've tried so far in Texas, but this was a great start. The food here is seasoned and spiced well. Spice level is offered on a range from mild to Indian hot. Compared to spice levels I've had in NY, the spice was pretty tame. I will have to try Indian hot next time. We ordered the goat curry, butter lamb, chicken samosas, veggie samosas, and garlic naan for our food choices. The meats could have been more tender, but nonetheless everything was flavored well and portions were fair. The drinks were good though on the weaker side. Service was consistent and someone was always checking to see how things were. We came in here after a movie and will Definitely be back.

Ask the Community - Jaipur Palace - Austin

Do they offer a dinner buffet?

Do they have Jain options or do their vegetarian options contain alliums (onion and garlic)?

    How do people dress here?

Casual to smart casual dress is fine.

Do the dishes come with rice, or do you have to add it separately?

All of the entrees I've gotten for takeout have included basmati rice, but you may just want to call and ask for individual items. I know for sure that rice wouldn't come with the appetizers (e.g. naan).

Do they have a lunch buffet? If so what are the times it runs?

No buffet just an a la carte menu.

The staff was helpful in clarifying what was vegetarian. We ended up ordering the Millionaire's Curry and were able to get it with tofu for extra protein, along with jalapeño naan and rice. The portions were more than enough for two people who weren't super hungry. The naan was really delicious, with nicely crisped edges, and the curry was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. Overall, everything we tried was delicious, the portions were generous, and we appreciated the flexibility for vegetarians. Definitely planning to come back and try more items next time.

You are drawn in my the dimly lit restaurant with warm soothing colors. You hear this soft intoxicating music as you take in these tiny table lamps. We were all in! I met a Yelp friend for dinner that I had not seen for quite some time. It was great catching up! As you walked in, you could smell a hint of the aroma of spices coming from the kitchen. Is it possible that everything you eat or drink is exceptional? Can service be at the highest possible level? Yes and Yes! We ordered the onion kulcha and garlic naan as appetizers. They were fresh, hot, soft and super flavorful. You could taste the onions in the kulcha and the garlic was pronounced in the garlic naan. We both ordered the lamb/goat marsala (medium for me and mild for my friend). The entrée was an explosion of flavors in your mouth...so good! The entrée was rich and enjoyable to eat without being heavy. It came with basmati rice where the kernels did not stick to each other. The rice was airy and fluffy. My friend ordered an Indian beer. When in India, Indian beer is a staple. I ordered a lemon drop martini. This was the best martini I have had in a very long time. Shamu, the bartender, came over to our table to explain what other martinis he could make that were not on the menu. The Lemon Drop martini was ice cold (loved that), smooth and perfectly blended. Shamu said that the glass was first chilled before the martini was poured. Drinking narvana... Riya, our server, was so sweet and kind. She was meticulous in serving our table - water constantly refilled, lemons delivered and food strategically placed on the table. Riya suggested our entrée as the most popular dish. We absolutely understand why. I am not sure why we have never eaten at Tandoori. I definitely will be returning when I am back in the South part of the city.

Started with the Garlic Naan. Heard it was pretty good and I definitely agree. Not only was the bread hot with crispy edges, the flavor of the garlic wasn't too strong but definitely evident and tasty. The Garlic Naan at the south location tasted a tad strange and wasn't as flavorful as the one in the north location, but that may just be an anomaly. My entree was the Dhaba Mutton Curry. You can't say no to bone-in goat. I try to eat different things at restaurants, but after loving it the first time, I had to get it again. The bone-in goat meat is truly tender with occasional pieces of fat. You can really separate the pieces with a spoon. The curry sauce is delicious with just the right consistency to bind with the rice. This dish opened my eyes to the world of goat meat. Seriously. So good. The entree also came with saag paneer (similar to creamed spinach). I don't often rant about vegetables, but this stuff is super delicious. Mix it in with the rice or just eat it by itself, I just can't have enough of it. Can we get endless refills on this? I wanted to ask our waiter, but wimped out. There is an issue with their service though. In the south Austin location, there were only 4 tables with customers, including mine. However, the service was especially slow, specifically after the meal. After showing the waiter our voucher, he put it back down on the table and left. 15 minutes would then go by until they took our voucher again and returned with our check. That's 15 minutes of my party and me aimlessly chatting and glancing around the restaurant. In a near-empty restaurant, speed of service was the last thing I expected to encounter. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and our water glasses were always full.
