The yellow cuisine had a touch of spice that made your nose watery and your lips slightly burning. Ample bowls of each. It had a nice creamy texture that a lot of places miss. The meh: the lamb korma was fine, but nothing memorable. The bad: The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala tasted identical. Just got through hiking at Pernadales State Park and this hit the spot. Located in a nice little area with outdoor seating. This place was delicious! Ordered the Paneer Butter Masala, garlic naan bread and mango lassis. Everything was amazing. The family that runs it seems very nice and you'll see different types of customers pick up food or eat there. It was nice to see how many regulars come there. Our favorite dish is the Gobi Manchurian. The cauliflower is perfectly crispy and coated in a spicy flavorful sauce that hits all the right notes. I really liked curry express! There were many different options, including some fusion dishes like tikka masala tacos which sounded good. We got a tikka masala platter and samosas. The samosas and chutney were great. The saag paneer was the best saag I've ever had - super creamy. I do wish the tikka masala was curry was more rich and flavorful and the naan was more of a drier, crispy flatbread than any other naans I've ever had, so that's why I had to lower it a star. Food didn't take too long to come out though which was nice. Overall pretty good and definitely will be back for the saag paneer and to try some other dishes! read more

I was craving butter chicken and called to make my order the second they opened. Even though it was 30 minutes away I drove over, but got a flat tire on the way that took two hours to get fixed. They called to make sure I was still coming and when I finally got there they graciously offered to remake my order since it had gotten cold. I'm so happy to have discovered this Indian restaurant. Yes it's a food truck but so much more with tasty food with goodly sized portions. Reasonable prices and a quaint place to eat. They offer inside dining or outside at the tables with umbrellas or takeaway. You can call ahead and order if you'd like to pick it up but I ordered in person and it was a short wait. The nice man even brought it out to my car which was super sweet. There's parking in front and across the little one way street. It's off 1626 but on the side street to cut over past the railroad tracks. For just about $20 I got an appetizer of samosas and an entree of saag paneer with rice. Everything was delicious. This is the best Indian food in South Austin. Authentic and delicious. Even the rice has an authentic flavor, not the normal, bland basmati fare typically offered by average restaurants. We had paneer butter masala, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo and chicken chili. The chicken tikka masala sauce is absolutely the best in Austin and possibly the best item on offer. Get it. Vindaloo sauce is magnificent, although I will warn you it is spicy. Adjust the spice level accordingly if you struggle with high heat. Sweat, runny nose, watery eyes, you'll fight through all of it to clean the bowl. Lamb or chicken, you can't go wrong. My vegetarian friend was delighted with the paneer butter masala. Highly recommend this joint to scratch your Indian itch. Rice pudding is top shelf and helps cool the fire. This is a trailer with plenty of seating out front. We get carry out. The lady was so kind and told us about the popular items Omg, the Gobi Manchurian with the garlic Naan is DELICIOUS! I want more as I write! I also enjoyed the rice you can never go wrong with that I added the Gobi on top of it! My next fav was the Mango Lassi it's a mango smoothie YUM YUM!! Now I have to go back for the ice cream! I had heard online that this food truck was run by people I used to know at my old Indian spot, and I am so happy to report it's true and that the food hasn't changed in the four years since I've had it!!! I got the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and garlic naan and everything was how I remembered it! Amazingly good. I have missed this food so much. I was almost crying in my kitchen dishing it out.
