The food is so delicious! Well worth a try. Love the tiki masala. Servings are generous- I often have leftovers for next day lunch.

Finally checked this place out with a friend and thought it was overall a solid experience. Very…read moreexpensive, but solid. The entry fee was about $12 and the drink I got was $30. I couldn't really justify getting a second drink at that price, but the one I did get was actually noticeably great -- really a very well-crafted drink, that had me looking up the ingredients later in the night curious on how they made it. I went on a Sunday night and it was slow but lively. I don't think I'd go at a peak time with the extremely long lines that form, but it made a cozy date spot.

Came in Christmas Eve since I figured it'd be a good place to come socialize. Unfortunately the…read morevibe was more so of grandmas house versus an actual holiday bar. You need a ticket to get in (between $11-$37) and it definitely looks like Santa's elves threw up tinsel and wrapping paper everywhere. Cute little Photo Booth downstairs. The whole space is meant to accommodate 4-8 people parties which made someone like me who came in by themselves stand out since I was the only one at a table meant for at least four people. I wish there was bar seating or at least more of a crowd so the single people wouldn't stand out like sore thumbs in rooms full of groups and couples. The drinks are between $13-$30 which is a little ridiculous for a single shot in a cup you can't even keep. Be sure to read the fine print on the front of the menu with all of the terms to gratuity and splitting bill.

The friends I went with had been there several times before and spoke highly of the experience. The appetizers consisted of oysters, Brie crostini's, and prosciutto wrapped butternut squash! I enjoyed the nicely spiced seafood gumbo, gulf fish, and a few bites of the sweet King cake. I was able to bring some leftovers home too so I could enjoy it again! The owner was there and I think he got the baby in the cake. :-) You can order additional drinks while there and we were recommended a very nice red wine that went well with the meal. I'm so glad I got a check to check it out and look forward to trying it again hopefully this year!

Supper Friends at Swoop House is an Austin institution when it comes to pop up dinners. We have…read morebeen going for many years, maybe ~9 years since our first dinner here! And we keep on coming back. It is fun, delicious and the ambiance inside the house and the gardens is optimized for enjoyment! Supper Friends offers a themed meal (usually dinners, sometimes brunch). It is normally a 5 course prefix menu that is carefully thought out. I'm particularly fond of their passed appetizers - they usually have 3 different types of delicious bites - that you can nibble on as you wait for guests to arrive and dinner to get served. There's an option to pair your meal with wines. The staff there is amazing from the wait staff, the sommelier, the chef, owner (including his family) - all very attentive and friendly! We would like to see more dinners offered. Our last dinner there was a couple of months ago and we've been waiting for the next event since! We can't wait to go back!

Brian's cousin was visiting us from down in Seguin, and she brought along her of-age kids, so we needed a proper spot to drop anchor. This place is a true treasure. The moment we walked in, we were completely blown away by the decor. It genuinely felt like we'd just washed ashore on a haunted pirate cove. They went all out with the rigging, skulls, and nautical details to set the mood. Even better than the immersive atmosphere was the crew. The staff provided super friendly service and made sure we felt right at home, keeping the good times rolling all night long. Let's talk about the booty: the cocktails! The themed drinks were absolute liquid works of art. They were beautifully crafted, ridiculously tasty, and packed enough rum to shiver yer timbers. Grab yer crew and get down there before this popup sets sail for good (ends 8/30/26 until next summer). Yo ho ho and a five-star review & a swashbuckling good time!

I tried the Siren's Song (yum) and Spirit of the Sea (good but bit too briney). We liked the coconut shrimp. The fish dip but it didn't come with enough banana chips to finish it and when we asked for more, they first side we had to buy a whole other side of them but when we showed them they left the little desiccant pouch in the chips they gave us extra for free. The charcuterie board was really well presented and much bigger than we thought it would be! The fish sticks were a little chewy and didn't taste too fresh. They brought us the popcorn by mistake but I still snapped a photo of it. :-) Overall a fun experience with great decorations, but I suggest asking for a table with more room to move around. We had to squeeze in and out of the table trying not to trip over our stools, knock into a wall or into the very loud people in the table just behind us.
