Visited this place for the first time. Okay, it's an old old jail. That's cool. Very cool. You have a nice view of the river. That's nice. But, that's where the good ends. After all, you're here to eat. The sauce was a very basic sauce. Nothing memorable. It's maybe on even par with frozen pizza sauce. The pizza itself is just blah. Yeah the menu has a bunch of clever names for different pies, but that's where the creativity stops and stops hard. Been there, done it, glad I didn't get the overpriced tshirt. I've wanted to go here ever since I moved to Louisville. But from my house to here is about 1.5 hours. Well, I had an errand to do that put me about 45 mins away and I was able to talk my wife into going. Well, to me, it was worth it. Cool place that is definitely in an old jailhouse. Makes for cool decor, and you can get seated in a cell. When we went everyone was seated on the other side of the building far from the jail. Oh well, maybe next time. The table for: cheese fries, pickle chips, kids cheese pizza, a giant salad, wings, and the Stromboli. The cheese fries and pickle chips were both pretty good, and it seemed as though everyone orders them. The wings were good. Not spicy, and they looked wimpy, but the flavor was nice. Salad was a good size and came with plenty of goodies within. Daughter ate her pizza without complaint and I enjoyed the Stromboli. Good dough, nice sauce. Waitress seemed attentive and quickly catered to our requests. Other waitresses seemed to do the same. I'd gladly go back and try one of their jailhouse themed pizzas. Jailhouse pizza the verdict is in! Tour the jail while your pizza is cooking. Authentic jail cells with real history. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the Ohio river. The pizza came out hot and delicious! Generous toppings. There were six of us so we thought me might need two large pizzas. We ordered an eighteen inch deluxe and a 14 inch prisoners last request. We had to get two boxes to take home the leftovers. They were very filling. If you go before the end of the year be sure to drive through the park below the restaurant, the animated holiday displays are amazing and beautiful. This place. Oh man. We have eaten here as a large family unit thee times...twice pre-covid and now once post. SO STINKIN' GREAT! Their crust?! My Texan babies took a bite of crust (JUST the crust!) and said "mmmmm, it's almost like kolache dough!" (If you know, you know; if you don't, do yourself a favor and learn!). Their "Electric Chair!!!" is insane: "WARNING EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!" Is on the menu. No I didn't, but two of our party did (again!!!) and they loved when they ATE it... y'know what I'm saying? Historic actual jailhouse turned popular pizza joint located on the beautiful riverfront in Brandenburg Kentucky. Really cool and fun place. You have a main level that has a large dining room with lots of cool nostalgic decor and callbacks to the original Jailhouse days. Upstairs they have the old original jail cells (with dining options inside them) and even the shaft where they use to hang people on executions. Lots of legends and historic tid bits at this jailhouse. It is allegedly haunted. Possibly by an old inmate they have named "Bigsby". Evidently unexplainable things and sounds are heard when upstairs dining or touring in the old hail cells. Im skeptical on things like that. However, whenever someone flushes a toilet the lights in the men's restroom start to flicker. So I'm not sure that's paranormal activity as much as it is probably old wiring ran against old plumbing. Either that or Bigsby wanted me to hurry up. Haha. I believe one of the workers stated that the prison has jailed famous people Such as outlaw Jessie James and country music legend hank Williams Sr. Not sure how accurate that is. But pretty cool if so. Outside of the cool building, concept and fun stories this place actually has really good pizza. We Went with my family of 6 and a group of family friends. We started with two apps. Garlic knots and cheese bread. Both really good. Garlic knots were nice and fresh and fluffy tasting. The cheese bread was great. Had very good cheese flavor to it. Top notch apps. For the main course we got two large pizzas. One half cheese and one half veggie and a whole cheese. We also got a small white flag pizza which is a cheese and veggie pizza made with ricotta cheese. The cheese pizza was great. Massive slices, nice thickness with great tasting dough, flavorful cheesiness and a nice tasting sauce. Very good pizza slice. My family and friends tried the veggie and white flag pizzas. They liked the veggie but weren't too big on the white flag pizza. Overall very fun and cool place that is centrally located in a nice convenient area of Brandenburg. From the parking lot you are few steps away from riverfront park and the beginning of the wonderful buttermilk falls. Also you can walk across the street and see the much discussed and debated about confederate monument. Pizza and apps were both great. Brandenburg is a good hour drive from my home in Louisville but we had a good time spending a day here and the pizza and atmosphere here makes it a no brainer for us to dine here again. I'm here to rant about a few things. First and foremost; this place is amazing! The food and service were top tier. The waitresses were so aware of everything going on between drink refills and coming out to check on people and their orders. The food was delicious! I cannot wait to eat here again but i definitely will not be dining in for 2 reasons. 1. People and their kids. Kids were running around tables as people were eating and the mother was taking pictures. Not disciplining her kids. I'm usually not one to judge parents but this was very annoying. Her kids just running around the entire restaurant, running into the wait staff and everything. 2. Entitled men. There was about a 30-45 minute wait due to a big order. But this rude gentleman decided he needed to eat now and not wait. So he came in and started to yell at the staff saying let me talk to the manager. They did allow him to sit and eat before everyone else waiting outside. I think that was very rude and he could wait like everyone else. Just because he knows someone that works there? It took the waitress at least twenty minutes to even acknowledge that me and my family were seated then it took them at least an hour and twenty minutes to even get us our food . But do you know what the other waitress near us said she said "she couldn't find out waitress". We arrived at Jailhouse Pizza at about 5:30 PM on a Friday evening and were seated immediately. The dining room was about half full. After about 10 minutes, the hostess came to apologize that there was a mix-up regarding which server was supposed to handle our table. After another 5 minutes, a server finally took our order. In the meantime, another family of 4 had already been seated next to us and had their order taken. We ordered two pizzas and a salad. The salad was ordered without onions, and one of the two pizzas (mine) - a small deluxe - was ordered without olives. The salad arrived reasonably quickly - with onions. It was eaten anyway. At about 6:25 - almost an hour after we had arrived - the server showed up with two pizzas, and apologized that another server had taken the pizza I had ordered without olives, so she brought me another deluxe - with olives - offering to allow me to keep it while she ordered another like my original order. I don't like olives, and removing them from a pizza with so many toppings does not work. I told her to take the wrong pizza back and skip the replacement, noting that I'd already waited an hour. I skipped my dinner while the other two members of my party finished their pizza. In the meantime, the family of four who had been seated after us had been served and eaten their dinner and left. When she delivered the check, our server noted that she did not charge me for my pizza - seemingly as if I should appreciate that gesture. As I was leaving, I asked to see the manager. When he asked what the problem was, it was apparent that he was not aware of the problem. His only reaction? "I'm sorry, man..." I think that the manager should have been informed of the problem when it happened, and visited us at our table. He should have asked what could be done to make it right. Net: it took nearly an hour to get our food, two orders were screwed up (the salad and the misplaced pizza), and management's response was totally lacking. We will not eat here again, and will share our experience with others. read more

My buddy took me here during a work trip to Kentucky. Really awesome place, that once was a jailhouse in fact, which is cool, because I love historical stuff. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were fair. Food was good. Location is a bit off the beaten path, but it's right along the river and would be awesome for a summer evening type visit. read more

Customer service 5/5, ambience 5/5, but I think the best part was the crust and dough. I normally don't like heavy pizzas but this place didn't disappoint. I also never like Hawaiian pizza but they didn't overwhelm the pizza with pineapple matter of fact it complimented the assorted meats on the pie. Overall all three pizzas our group ordered were amazing and I'll for sure make a stop on my next trip to Ft Knox. Jailhouse Pizza was a super awesome pizza joint that doubles as an old jail that we found on our recent vacation. They have done a wonderful job of retaining the old jail charm while building a proper restaurant around it. So many awesome pieces of decor as well as the ability to eat you meal in a jail cell which I'll have to do sometime this is definitely a must stop for any tourist although if I lived close to it I would go pretty often for their food as we'll get into. We started with the Jailer's Bread which was their version of garlic bread topped with mozzarella cheese. I'd say it was average although the marinara dipping sauce was top notch their. What wasn't average was their pizzas. We got both the Carnivore as we as the Electric Chair. The Carnivore was obviously their Meatlover's Pizza as it came with pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, meatball, and salami along with mozzarella and red sauce. Fantastic toppings, a good sauce, and a very good crust made for a darn fine pizza. The Electric Chair was their version of spicy pizza and in my opinion was even better. It came with pepperoni, sausage, Jalapeño peppers, and their Deathrow Hot Sauce along with mozzarella cheese. This was the best variation of a spicy pizza I've ever had as they didn't just make it hot they put great care in building great flavour. Every bite was an explosion of flavour and had plenty of heat although not an overwhelming amount in my opinion. Between the sights and sounds, the food, and great service I encourage everyone to check this place out. You'll be glad you did. read more

Jailhouse makes a great fresh pizza. The garlic knots appetizer alone make it worth a trip in for me. The staff is always friendly, but they also always seem to be short staffed so you will probably be waiting for that refill or extra napkin request(so don't forget to bring patience). My only real problem with Jailhouse is the tables are way to close in my opinion, you are literally back to back and just enough room to squeeze by the next table. Overall Jailhouse is a tasty welcome change from all the other pizza places in Brandenburg. read more

Great place to try, the view and food are amazing! As you walk in the building it has an antique feel, I was greeted as soon as I walked in and seated pretty quickly, we ordered sweet tea and a few sodas, those were out pretty quickly. Ordered the wings next, they arrived pretty quick and were delicious, my three year old devoured them, and she doesn't always eat a lot. I ordered a ten inch pizza, kids spaghetti and kids cheese. The ten inch is the perfect size, I had two slices remaining to take home, my kids really enjoyed their food and my 3 year old even asked for another slice when we made it home. Love it, fresh sauce with chunks of tomatoes with a hint of sweetness. Pepperoni is not greasy and cheese holds up in the dishes. Dough is delicious and has a nice crunch. Lasagna is filling and portion is perfect, leaves you full and not stuffed. Prisoners roll is the best with the dough, a ton of cheese and pepperoni rolled up with a side of dipping sauce. Can't wait to come back for that again. Small out side dining, passed must me wasp season. Inside has beautiful views and the the inside has fun dine-in prison cells. Service is hit or miss. I've had service where it's excellent and above average and I've had service where it's subpar at best. The first time I went to Jailhouse Pizza, we got to sit in a cell which was pretty cool. Apparently, you have to reserve those now and even if they aren't reserved, you can't sit there unless you have a reservation. I guess it makes a bit of sense since they are on the opposite side of the main dining room but if I'm eating at an old jail house - I want to eat in a cell (maybe that makes me weird?) I like that there is no objections to people wandering the building and looking at the history. The food is delicious. The last time I was here (in October), we ordered the garlic knots and I had the BBQ chicken pizza. This was the visit that we had issues with service. Our waiter took all 3 orders but only entered 2. And then when asked about the 3rd order, claimed that we hadn't ordered but he had repeated the order back to us. The whole exchange was awkward. And it seemed he was too busy with a large party on the opposite side of the dining room to check on our table. 3rd entrée came out about 10 minutes after he put the order in. And then he never came back to top off drinks or check on us. Food is good but service could use some work. Overall, I enjoy eating here and the view of the river. I'll probably be back because I get a kick out of eating in jail cells. read more

My family and I decided to try this place on a recommendation. We arrived around 6 on Friday evening and were seated right away, and there were quite a few open tables. We ordered the fried pickles and garlic knots to start... would recommend the garlic knots but we weren't crazy about the pickles. We ordered two pizzas - the carnivore and the white flag, which were both pretty good. Nothing groundbreaking but we were happy. The price differences between the pizza sizes was pretty absurd. The jail cells in the restaurant were cool to see, though we dined in the regular dining area. There is also a monument that was moved from Louisville to the waterfront right in front of the restaurant due to its confederate ties... so that's interesting to see as well. The bottom line is that it's a good place to get some pizzas and dine in a small town right on the river. read more
