Stopped by Marco's Pizza on Dixie and ended up waiting a bit longer than expected--over 30 minutes--but there was only one worker handling everything, and she was clearly doing her best. I decided to just sit down and wait it out. When the pizza finally came out, it was loaded with meat and tasted really good--definitely worth the wait. Despite the delay, the quality of the food and the effort from the staff stood out. I'd go back again. Solid 4 stars.

Marcos pizza was always a chain pizza place that you can find almost in every major city or state Except Lousiville Kentucky until recently. The city finally got its 1st Marcos located right on busy Dixie Highway. I usually don't frequent Dixie Highway too often as I'm way on the other side of town. However my daughter had a volleyball game nearby so it was a great opportunity for us to finally try Marcos now that it had arrived in the city. The setup is delivery or take out only. So we went with takeout as we were far from home and I am familiar with the area enough to know a good spot nearby with park benches on This beautiful September day in Lousiville. I walked in placed the order after the workers kinda scrambled around a few minutes before taking my order. We went with a large cheese and a large pepperoni and was quoted a 20 min wait Which was closer to a 35 minute wait. The pizza itself featured larger slices compared to other national chain delivery pizza places. Flavor to me was just ok. Very safe and very bland. Kinda gave you the state fair pizza or department store pizza vibe. Not bad by any means but nothing to on knock your socks off. Overall it's cool to have the Marcos pizza option now and I'm curious how many hey will expand into the city. If place it in the medium of all the national chain pizza places our city has. Definetly not the worse but not quite to the level of the top ones for me.

Marco's Pizza finally comes to Kentucky, well Valley Station/Dixie Hwy area. I would consider this end of town lucky to get this place and Five Guys will be opening nearby as well. So I went after work the day they opened probably not the best idea but, it was a Monday and that is typically a slow day/night for businesses, I was wrong. I had tried to use their mobile app earlier in the day but couldn't get it to work. I go there and it is pretty packed inside, I was able to order at the counter but, I was not given an order number or a wait time. There was some confusion with some people on the line as to who ordered and who didn't . The inside is very small, no chairs, no tables, no dine in, they do have delivery. Not much standing room either. As I was waiting as what seemed forever, a few people came back in with messed up orders, not surprised and I expected that beings they just opened. Many got impatient and frustrated having to wait so long, as for me, yes I was tired, impatient, hungry but, they did just open so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. One of the managers apologized and thanked us for our patience and cooperation, we were given gift certificates and a coupon for free cheese bread. After about an hour I did receive my pizza and cheese bread. The employees and managers were very awesome. Taylor who worked the front counter really kept it together. I forget the female managers name but she was also great. I will return here but, I will give them time to work their kinks out. Dixie Hwy is happy to have you Marco's Pizza.

First time customer. Ordered over the phone. The guy that took our order was awesome ...courteous and professional and superhelpful since I'd never ordered. I was totally floored when the food arrived. It looked almost to good to eat. One of the best looking pies I've had. We ordered a large combination and a large cheese pie...cheesy bread and wings. Everything was hot fresh and done exactly good pizza should be done. I was hooked by the looks and smell alone... but then I tasted it and WOAH man!!!! I'll never order from any other pizza places again . Hands down best pizza I've had from a chain restraunt ever.

Excellent pizza, I just wish there was a way to add fresh garlic, otherwise 5 stars. The service was prompt, the food was fresh and the ambiance was a busy pizza place. Far batter than dominos, papa John's or Pizza Hut, all who are having employee issues here in this area.

Crunchy breading, juicy and tender inside. They were not spicey or dripping in any sauce, just regular breaded and I thought "I am going to have to go to this place soon" After doing some research I found that they have drive thru only for dinner hours. So I made my trip down Broadway to Chicken King and could not miss the big yellow sign nor the already 7 cars in the drive thru. Since this chicken has a otremendous fan base, I considered myself lucky to be #8 in line as others pulled behind me. The menu is packed full of items, so my first tip is to look up the menu online before you go...less pressure once you arrive...lol I ordered the 8 PC box (regular) for my husband, 3 PC tenders (that comes with 3 potato wedges) for myself and a medium peach cobbler to share. I was very disappointed that the tenders were not fresh nor freshly breaded. They were pressed and glued white meat formed into a tender. I actually only ate one, shared one with my dog and threw the last one away. The potato wedges were the star. I should have ordered more of those. My husband, who LOVES fried chicken was not impressed. He said KFC and Golden Corral has better. The peach cobbler was average. So, I am sorry to summarize our experience as not having a reason to return.

If you've not had Nashville-style Hot Chicken, Royals offers a great introduction and if you know what to expect, Royals delivers at a competitive level, in a city that has seen a fun history of competition in fried chicken. I recommend the X-Hot these days, but that's not where I started. Somewhat regular trips over many years have made that my goto favorite. (I have done the next and final heat level, Gonzo, once. I recall it was great. I plan to do it again. I save it as a cardio workout for the right sort of low other commitments weekend.) I recommend always checking out what the Sliders of the Month are. The monthly specials generally are quite special and have combined so many fun flavors over the years. Though my heart maybe belongs most of all to the Hot Fish, now no longer just a March special. It's hard for me to write about Royals without some form of nostalgia. This building is my neighborhood fast-ish food shop. It hasn't been Royals the whole time I've lived in the neighborhood, but it has made up for it with longevity in a block I've watched shift a lot around it. I miss some of the businesses that used to be on this block. i appreciate some of the new ones. It's been interesting watching Royals grow up into feeling like an anchor here. (I also still sometimes miss some of Royals original options like the hot tofu and some of their early sides, especially as someone who still ranks fried chicken places by their sides even this side of Yum Brands' Commonwealth-named chicken place also giving up on fresh veggies despite once advertising it never would. But Royals did recently graduate Hot Fish to the year-round menu to make it up to me, almost personally, so there are plenty of good changes as well over the years.) I look forward to how they grow and change in the future, and I hope they'll keep this block cool and with an easy spot for a neighbor like me to count on to catch a fast, spicy lunch or dinner.
