The best thing to do when visiting Arno Pizza is to go in with no expectations. It's a small restaurant with not very many tables. We started with drinks and the breadsticks as an appetizer. There are no fountain drinks here - it's all plastic 20 oz bottles or glass bottles. Even water comes in a bottle. They do provide chilled glasses and ice. The breadsticks had a good flavor to them and I liked the marinara sauce as well. I ordered the white pizza. It was a bit out of the box for me but I really enjoyed it. The crust is thin but tasty. And you can never have too much cheese! I'm not sure if there normally isn't table service but the person who took our order disappeared for a bit so it took a while to get boxes and checks. She was quick to get us taken care of though when she came around. The pick up counter was steady the entire time we were there. I would absolutely get pizza from here again.

This is a small pizzeria on Bardstown Road. There is are a few tabled inside to eat and it looked like some outdoor seating as well. There was music playing in the dining area with a tv also in the bar area. Our group started with breadsticks and marinara sauce. They were well cooked and I would get them again. It is important to note that the restaurant only had 20 oz bottle drinks. We were also given cups with ice. They had many speciality pizzas, as well as build your own options. I got buffalo chicken pizza. I thought it was well cooked and would get it again. The buffalo flavor was good. One of my favorite parts of the pizza was the crust. It was thin crust, but was not to crispy (which I liked). Our waitress was nice and quick to greet us, get our orders, and bring everything out. However, once our food came out it took a while to get our boxes and checks. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try.

This small, Mom-and-pop business serves subs, sandwiches, salads, sides and outstanding pizzas (and specialty pizzas). The flavor of the pizzas is wonderful. Their location changed as of June 2016. Currently, they are located in the business district of West Buechel (off Bardstown Rd. Right after the intersection of Six Mile Lane) In June 2016, they moved across the street (diagonally) from the old location. The new location is a bit larger and the interior looks much nicer than the interior of the old location. The front of the store is marked by a large PIZZERIA sign on the window. Other times that I have eaten from this business, it's always been take-out. This time, we decided to eat in the restaurant because I was waiting for a different business to fix my car's tire. My experience dining in the restaurant was just as good (if not better) as the experience of take-out. The take-out pizza has ALWAYS been tasty. Now, I realize I was about to experience the great take-out pizza accompanied by what I assumed would be excellent service. I was not disappointed. We ordered a large, Ultimate pizza. It comes with 4 different meats and about 5 different vegetables. Before getting the pizza, we were brought water in a frosted glass. The frosted glass was a really nice touch and made me like the place even more. Next came the authentic Greek salad. It contained no lettuce at all (as if customary for real Greek salads), but did have green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, red onions, pepperoncini and crumbled feta cheese all tossed in a savory greek dressing. The "Ultimate" pizza had about 8 toppings, including 4 types of meats (pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon) and 4 vegetables (green peppers, onions, mushrooms and black olives). While we did not make any substitutions, that option is available. I think it's wonderful the way their pizza is not greasy even though it has 4 types of meats on it. The pizza is luscious and juicy, but not greasy. I just cannot say enough good things about this pizza establishment. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, the service is impeccable and the food is very savory and flavorful.

We all drank water, soda or tea and they kept our glasses filled. We ordered the pork chop dinner that came with risotto and vegetables. My husband loved the veggies and risotto but was not thrilled with the chop. He wishes he would have asked for a steak knife as it was difficult to cut with the butter knife provided. It was tender enough but neither of us cared for the flavor. I had the Primavera. It was a bit bland. I had to salt it several times. Our favorite part of the meal was dessert. We had a piece of lemoncello cake that was flavorful, creamy and light. We both thought it was great. We had about $20 left on our gift card and were disappointed we couldn't use the balance as the tip. So we ordered two more desserts to bring home to use the balance of the gift card. We brought homemade a piece of Italian cream cake that was as good or better than the lemoncello cake and it was a huge piece of cake. We also have a piece of caramel sea salt cheesecake which was pretty good. It was loud in the small space and a bit difficult to have a conversation across the table. The background music did not help with this issue. The staff were friendly and helpful boxing up our leftovers. Tables have white cloth tablecloths and the owner was making rounds to greet all the patrons which was nice. We discovered there is parking in the back of the restaurant, as so many of the spaces in the area have signs indicating you will be towed if you park there. We had to park on the street about a block down.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without exaggeration, they were the best I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the balance of textures throughout the dish was incredible. Every bite had the perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and toppings. Nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. It was one of those meals where you find yourself slowing down just to enjoy every bite. Even the water deserves a mention. It was clean, crisp, and refreshing. If it came straight from the tap, I would have never known. It's a small detail, but it speaks to the overall dining experience when even something as simple as water stands out. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.

Tucked away on Frankfort Avenue, it's a little off the beaten path, and parking can be an adventure. There's a small lot by the restaurant with overflow parking further down the hill. Somehow we managed to snag the only open space right outside the front door, which felt like winning a very specific Louisville lottery. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and the place was already buzzing. It was packed with locals, which is usually a good sign. While our table was being bussed, three different employees checked to make sure we were being helped. We let them know we were just a little early and waiting on our table, but it spoke volumes about the attentiveness of the staff. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighbourhood pizza spot: relaxed, lively, and unpretentious. The soundtrack quietly floating through the speakers was a crate-digger's delight, full of songs that have been sampled throughout hip-hop history. Hearing Lynn Collins' Think (About It) while waiting for dinner felt particularly apt following the recent passing of Rob Base. The song's iconic break became the foundation of It Takes Two, one of hip-hop's most recognisable records, and it was a nice reminder of how deeply great music connects generations. To start, we ordered the Olives & Togarashi, a bowl of Castelvetrano olives coated in a wonderfully aromatic blend of spices with notes of fennel, sesame and citrus. My son tried his first olive and was genuinely shocked by the flavour. He'll come around eventually. For the main event, we ordered three large pizzas: the DOP Margherita, the Funghi and the Original Sting. The DOP Margherita showcases imported buffalo mozzarella from Campania alongside basil and San Marzano tomatoes. The Funghi is loaded with an incredible blend of mushrooms, taleggio, pecorino cream and mozzarella. The Original Sting combines soppressata, fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato and spicy local honey in a sweet-and-savoury combination that completely works. Now, let's talk about the crust. It is perfect. Pillowy and light, yet substantial enough to give you that satisfying chew. The wood-fired oven creates just the right amount of charred bubbling around the edges. Our server offered house-made ranch and other dipping sauces for the crust, but we politely declined. This pizza doesn't need any enhancers. The balance of flavours across all three pies was exceptional. I've eaten pizza all over the world, and Pizza Lupo belongs in that conversation. It really is that good. We had a plan: sample all three pizzas and leave just enough room to split the tiramisu. Thankfully, we stuck to it. The tiramisu was fresh, light and beautifully balanced. Not overly sweet, nicely moist, with just enough espresso flavour coming through. It was the perfect finish to an outstanding meal. The service was fast without feeling rushed, friendly without feeling scripted, and genuine throughout the evening. We left full, not bloated, and happy as spring lambs, already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll defo be back. Cheers, Sam
