My wife and I did not receive our ordered food. Arrived at 550 on a Monday, server was Alice. Seated right away in an 80% empty restaurant. Ordered drinks, Bruschetta, a side salad and a pizza. Drinks arrived fine, drinks tasted okay. after about 20 min the Bruschetta arrived. it's a lump of Mozzarella over tomatoes in a bowl, with toasted hot dog buns. After 45 min our server came back to tell us our ticket was lost. As we had a babysitter, we elected to leave rather than wait another 45 min. We paid full price for everything we received, and then departed. I would not recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was fine, quiet enough for a conversation. read more

When traveling we always like to try local foods This small pizza chain is known for their "Louisville Style Pizza." Two layers of toppings and two layers of cheese. This location is located in the 1907 Stewart Opry House which is listed on the National Registry of Historic places. We were seated immediately and our server was very good. They have a large selection of draft beers as well as craft cocktails and over 80 bourbons. We started with an order of their jumbo wings with a Woodford Glaze sauce. Unique and delicious. My wife had a small mushroom gluten free pizza and I had a small sausage pizza. The sausage is homemade and served crumbled which I was not a fan of. The pizza tho was very good with a thicker crust. If the weather is nice they open up 5 garage doors for Al Frasco dining. Great location for families or to watch sports events. Street parking is available. read more

I was craving some spaghetti and meatballs and saw a great photo on DoorDash, so I placed my order. The spaghetti came looking just like the photo. Meatballs were tender and flavorful, sauce wasn't too sweet but has a nice sweetness to it. It came with 2 breadsticks that were dripping in garlic butter. My only complaint was they could've used some salt. Food was packaged well and arrived nice and warm. I can't speak on the inside of the restaurant because we ordered delivery, but this will definitely be a place we will continue to order from and visit in the future. read more

Unfortunately from that she forgot about us a didn't return till it was time to pay. Plates, drinks and utensils were brought out after our food. Appetizers brought with main meal. Margarita Pizza wasn't bad but missing flavor. Meatball sub was less than impressive but was ok for a hot sub. Mushrooms had plenty of Italian sausage but little mushroom for $10.00 Overall I probably won't be back. What a nice pizza joint! My Mom & I are in town visiting my niece. Mom wanted pizza so we came here. It looks like a local favorite. I ordered the Old Forester Hickory BBQ pizza. I wanted something different and it didn't disappoint. I could taste the BBQ, while still satisfying my appetite for pizza. Mom ordered the The Meats pizza and loved the fact that it also contained meatballs. Who does that?! Impellizerri's does! Jordan ordered the Italian sub and Jozy ordered a half & half pizza. It's always cool when you can build your own pizza to add whatever ingredients you want. It's what I would call an old school pizza joint serving 'real' pizza, subs, salads, and beer. They have a bar and tv's throughout so you can stay up to date on your sports. It's a cute spot. If I lived there I can see me visiting often. read more

This family owned pizza restaurant in downtown Elizabethtown is one of four restaurants they own. The other three are located in Louisville where their "Louisville Style" pizza recipe started. This location is in a historic building built in 1907. I appreciated that they offer a gluten free crust which I enjoyed even though it was quite different from the pizza in Chicago. Their sauce is very thick and sweet and the mushrooms were shaved not sliced. Their crust was nicely done, crisp but not cracker thin so it had an ice chew to it. Service was just okay. read more

This is a family favorite for us. We always come with a big group, but the wait is worth it. The space is pretty big so it's ever too, too long. The location could not be more convenient either. We usually get an appetizer, either some breadsticks, or burrata, or salad. They do a nice job of prepping us for our go-to: build your own pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olives. Large place fairly full on a Friday night. Nice wait staff but very average pizza. The positives were the evenly baked bottom crust and sweet sauce. Unfortunately the cheese and spices lacked flavor. After a long day of training at Fort Knox went down to E town for pizza and the UK game. The food hit the spot, the group got cheese bread, and old forester wings, which were gone so quick I did not get a picture. The Deluxe had very finely chopped toppings which helped all the flavors blend together well, I did not order it but was my favorite. The regular pepperoni was very good and really got to appreciate the crust. I did not try the sweet and spicy pepperoni but friend said it was a little too sweet for him. Are they racist here? My biracial partner and I (also not white) went recently after seeing great reviews, and were thoroughly disappointed. They seated us right behind the only other POC in the building, and we got a black server as well. (She was great, we loved her. Only part of the experience that was okay.) We immediately noticed that, and felt it was a bit off but moved on. The food was quite terrible as well. I got the chicken parmesan, which had the saddest excuse of a chicken patty on top, smothered in sauce so overly salty that it was unbearable. My partner got the lasagna, which seemed to be okay for the most part. It definitely did not have that home made touch though. Breadsticks were hard and barely edible. Overall we were not impressed, and definitely will not be returning, but will probably encourage our other POC friends to steer clear. read more

I ordered at 4:43 pm, and it said it would be done by 5:48 pm. I arrived at the store at 5:15 and asked about my order. The woman informed me that it was not done and was promised to me by 5:48 pm. Sure, no problem, I'll wait, even though the place basically only had customers at the bar and a few scattered in the dining room. I wait till 5:45 and ask again for the order. I am finally given the boxes, quickly load them in my car, and drive home, a short 10 min drive. I arrived at home and they did not give me garlic butter on the side, nor did they put any on the bread, and the pizza was cold. How does a pizza FRESH out of the oven go cold in less than 10 minutes? Did I wait for no reason other than so this establishment gets to stick to their "promised time"? I have been here a few times before this and have never been impressed, but this just takes the cake for poor operation. And even worse, we have been calling since so got home to try and see if we can find some kind of solution, and no one has picked up the phone for almost 30 minutes. read more

We got plates and forks and sat there for about 20 minutes with no drinks until the appetizer came out. She asked if we needed anything before the pizza. I told her yes, we'd like our drinks. While I've looked at their locations in Louisville, this is apparently the original of this local chain. It sits at the center of the historic part of town. Some sources claim this is a "Louisville-style pizza" to the extent that there is a particular style around here. It is much heavier than I thought it was going to be, owing not only to the bready crust but the double layered cheese and toppings. The most notable flavor, however, was the sauce, which was spiced and salted considerably. Because it was so thick, it was not as crisply done as I've like. It isn't as deep as a Chicago-style or as crispy as a Detroit-style. It wasn't life-changing, but it certainly was satisfying. The online menu offered multiple sauce options that weren't evident in person, and while I looked at online ordering, the hour and a half wait the website quoted me thankfully didn't pan out in person, and my pie was ready in the ballpark of fifteen minutes. I was happy with my side salad, which offered diverse ingredients and zippy croutons and a honey mustard dressing that was tasty but which I was given more of than I'd need for three salads. The restaurant is brick with aged wood tables and ample bar seating, and offers an atmosphere that reminded me of my own childhood pizza experiences. read more

After a long day at work my husband, kids and I went here. First of all we was told they no longer had PBR beer on tab, then when asking the waitress to place an order for a half and half 10" pizza for my kids she told me they couldn't. She asked if we would like to speak with a manager with a very rude attitude. We said yes. The manager came out and spoke with me and was able to get the pizza half and half. (Shout out to the manager for making my kids night). Then we were given another waitress who had tables in the front of the restaurant and we were in the back. We had to ask 4 times for a beer refill, then my husband went to the bar. We ended up flagging down a bus boy to get a refill for my son. That young man was amazing very attentive taking away dirty plates, got refills, and even to go boxes. He kept coming by asking if we needed anything. Of course I gave him a tip because serving is not his job. The waitress we seen her twice, first when we placed our order and second when it was time to pay! We have been going at least once a month since the place opened and tonight was the worst service we got. Won't be back for a while. read more

However I have to comment on how my old fashioned was murdered here. You don't put any part of the meat of the orange or pith in the drink. You usually take the orange peel twist, heat it up to loosen the juices and rub it around the rim and drop the twist of orange only. Feel free to add some Orange bitters. Also, don't muddle the cherry inside. Beer cheese had nice pretzels. So so cheese. I ordered the ground sausage over penne pasta. The sausage was ground a little too fine for me. Would be better as sausage chunks. I guess what I was experiencing was the same topping they would put on their pizza. Live and learn. The breadsticks would have qualified as extra pizza bread more than a breadstick. And it's swimming in melted butter. I was picturing something akin to Olive Garden. Basically it was not an appetizing bread. My wife ordered two meatballs which were straight up just beef. No other meat detected. Cesar salad yummy. Might stick to the pizza next time. This was the absolute perfect stop on our road trip. We had never heard of Elizabethtown previously, but will now be making this stop each trip we make that passes by. The sweet n spicy pepperoni was absolutely delicious. It was the most perfect balance of sweet with a kick of spice brought by the crushed red pepper. Our waitress was also super friendly! The only reason we decided on 4 stars instead of 5 would be the long wait. Was it worth it? Definitely! Just something to be aware of if you're deciding on where to eat and how much time you have. The sign in front of the store states "Best pizza in Hardin County." Well... I don'know 'bout that, but IT'S DARNED GOOD. If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular customer. Our large group of 15 was seated and served in reasonable time. The servers were pleasant, knowledgeable, and helped each other where needed. Teamwork just works. I'm good at pizza, whether in a restaurant kitchen or at home. Impellizzeri's is even better. [sigh] The cheese bread is very good (be prepared... it's a sauceless, very cheesy pizza). The Deluxe pizza is recommended as a feast of ingredients at a level of far from too few and nearly too many. They also serve good wings.
