It isn't that often I make it back east let alone northeast to have the Chinese food I had growing up so I make it a point every time I come home to visit. Jade has been around a long time and I enjoy coming here. They are under new ownership since the last time I was here and the service certainly isn't lacking. We were greeted promptly and had a nice area to sit in that wasn't right on top of any other tables so we could talk and enjoy ourselves. The food was delicious as expected. They weren't very busy and it did take a little longer to get our food than expected but it was worth the wait. The restaurant is past dated and rather dark and dingy, which is reflected in the food. We tried it once and that was more than enough. Overcooked noodles, crunchy rice, and some sort of sauce that was the same even if it was supposed to be different. Not exactly sure what the definition of "good" is around here, but this is definitely not it. If there is one semi-positive, it's that the service was adequate. read more

This is my hometown Chinese place, and that's probably why I like it so much. It's not always the best but it's my favorite. I always get it when I'm home in the area and the pork fried rice and chicken fingers are my favorite. I have tried Chinese other places and it just isn't the same. It was our first time eating here as I was looking for a Chinese meal for my mom's birthday. I understand that the original owners retired so there are new people that have taken over. Server was considerate and helpful which was probably the best part of the meal. Ordered 5 different dishes, but they all were drowning in the same brown sauce. If you ever heard the phrase consistently kills a restaurant. I have dined here for 40 years, yes, 40 years when the restaurant was split up for smoking and non-smoking but you'd always get the same combination plates or Jade palace special or steak qew the list is endless. Your going to get the same plate and that's saying something when your now longing for your favorite meal. Stopped in while snowmobiling through town. Service was excellent. We had the jade palace won ton soup and it was good. The spring rolls are real good. Moo goo GAO pan is very good. Our friends got the dinner for two and it's sooo much food! read more

do not EAT here. this place is the most unprofessional business. they're unclean, not sanitary, and they're rude. their food is questionable, and if you do happen to find anything strange in your food they will put them blame on you for putting it there. recently found a stink bug in their soup, they only offered to refund the soup. after years of eating there. I see all the reviews are old ones. I can tell you they should be shut down by the State if not the people that live there. Now the review, last time there was about six or more years ago. Service was good and food was very good. We were up there again this past week and thought we would stop in for take out. Crab Rangoon was dry and tasted old if not something that was left out for the rats to eat. Couldn't even finish the first one it was so bad !!! The veg chop suey was okay but I would like to have it cooked a little more than raw. The house rice was the worst I've ever had. Three small pieces of maybe chicken and a few very small pieces of what could have been ham ( not sure ) We took it back to where we were staying to eat. At 4 in the morning I was up to the bathroom and number of times. The wife which ate much less was later in the bathroom also from time to time. I had multiple people recommend this place, so I had to check it out. The first thing that I noticed as I entered the restaurant was the disgusting decor. The carpet was dingy and worn. I felt like I walked into some 1981 nightmare flick. They also have an enormous back lit portrait that is damaged excessively. The glass wear looks like something they robbed from a dumpster in some alley way. I ordered a pretty common meal in getting the sesame chicken. It came out with a fairly large serving. The chicken was dry, over cooked, and had no taste. I was very displeased. I figured this could have been a one time bad day, so I went back a few months later. Big mistake. After searching high & low for quality Chinese food here in Aroostook county we finally found Jade Palace. It certainly isn't the best I've ever had but for this area it's the best we've found. The Salt & Pepper Shrimp was delightful as well as the Sesame Shrimp. We thought the lunch specials were a tad pricey but that wouldn't prevent us from returning. The decor is depressing & the manager/owner should at least smile at the customers. His demeanor isn't very friendly or welcoming. read more
