We didn't get what we ordered when we went there unfortunately. My boyfriend ordered a bacon Swiss burger and did not get any mushrooms on it. When he tried pointing it out to the staff, they argued with him and did not get him another one. We ended up leaving. Also their milkshakes are very bland. Had a "special" 2 hot dogs on toasted buns with fries & 32oz. lemonade. The hot dogs were only partially fried. The buns had some type of grease on them, but were not grilled or "toasted". Only soggy & barely edible. When I asked to see the manager, a young girl, showed her what was wrong, she shrugged her shoulders & did 't say anything, Didn't offer a replacement or refund. Not even an "I'm sorry". Careful if you go there, I don't think they care about elderly customers. The only way you get a 32 oz dink is if you fill the cup totally "no ice" & then it's still only 30 ozs. Very disappointing & a rip-off. Not that they care. read more

While reading the reviews ahead of time made me quite nervous we came here anyhow to give it a try ourselves. We're super pleased that we did! We recently moved here and I missed having whole belly fried clams so I couldn't resist. My fiancé had the chicken wings, and we made them both a platter. We ordered, paid at the window, and drove into a spot on the side to wait for our food. We had fun chatting while 10-15 mins maybe went by, which seemed pretty good as the food came out to us nice and hot. The fries were delicious despite them not seeming as golden as expected, but the taste was good. Not over salted and not under salted. The coleslaw was delicious. It came out in the same bag as the food and the food was HOT, so it's no surprise it's temp wasn't super cold. Some reviews made it seem like maybe it wasn't safe, but it tasted just fine and almost like they put it in the bag from the fridge while the food was cooking. You can usually tell when something like that is sour. It was yummy though and went nicely with both dishes. The whole belly fried clams were so freaking good. Were they the best I've ever had? No, but they were delicious, cooked well, and not over battered. Completely satisfied to come here and get them again. The chicken wings were nice and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and a similar taste to KFC, but definitely not as salty seeming. My fiancé thought they were delicious but a little more salty than I had thought. To each their own tongue hahahaha. The tartar sauce was yummy as well! We had a great experience and we're happy we went. We didn't have the burgers or go inside so I can't speak on any of that. I can say the food we ordered was delicious, the wait time made sense for the food, and the price at least for the fried clams was as expected. New to the area and drove past this place a couple weeks ago. I figured I should I try it sometime. I regret doing so. I started patronizing a new restaurant how I always do - by making sure the bathroom was clean. It was exceptionally clean. The aesthetic inside the 10 or so table restaurant was appealing. Unfortunately, it's downhill from here. I placed an order for two chicken sandwich baskets. One had fries, one had onion rings. Each came with cole slaw. The order took approximately 16 minutes to receive. In that 16 minute period, only one other food order was sent out. The women who worked at the front counter, were prioritizing talking with their friends. We all remember being young and having a fun job - but there's a right time for everything. This very much took away from the atmosphere inside the establishment. The cook who prepared our food appeared to be the only one being productive. I do not fault him any. When we did receive our food after a quarter hour, one sandwich did not have any tomato. I did not wish to ask them for a tomato slice as I didn't want to interrupt the general raucous and distractions. I had waited long enough. The chicken itself was egregiously over cooked. It had a strong taste of fry oil. The French fries were a let down. No seasonings, no texture, just bland fried potato. The onion rings were better but just tasted like county fair onion rings - they lacked character. The cole slaw was rather warm. I chose to not eat it to avoid potentially getting ill. The soft drink - the 12oz Diet Pepsi for $1.80 had something off about it. It could have been the waxy cup, a fountain machine or something else. I am unwilling to give this establishment a second chance. It was lackluster at doing even the most basic things. French Fries and Soda. This would be a one star review if it wasn't for the cleanliness of the place and the simple fact that I was able to consume it. It didn't revolt me or disgust me - except for the warm cole slaw. I'm surprised this place has been open since 1968. I can't imagine that if this how they perform consistently will continue to be open much longer. * read more

I have been to Burger Boy 3 times this year so far, once for dinner and twice for ice cream. Food on the first visit was fine because it came out correct which was the issue last two years. 2nd visit, I bought a large hot fudge Sunday which came in a shallow dish and the ice cream was probably no bigger than a medium at best for $4.10. Today I went in and got a medium dish of ice cream of soft serve twist and it was no higher than $1 bill. I know costs are going up but holy cow at least put enough ice cream if you are going to call it a medium, especially machine ice cream. Another year of being burned at Burger Boy. Every year I hope things work themselves out, but no dice. Will be waiting for Houlton Farms to open from now on, at least they give proper serving sizes for their prices. Good luck read more

12:30 PM on a Sunday. I ordered chicken fingers and a coffee milkshake. There were 6 or 7 people ahead of me waiting for their food. The waiting area is right in front of the order counter and gets a little tight with 8 people waiting and more people coming in to order. Food came out in under 10 minutes. I had to remind them to make the milkshake. The chicken was standard and predictable. About 5 good sized strips in the order. (See picture) The milkshake was thin, but the flavor was ok. It has a decent atmosphere if you like 50s and 60s America, but if they actually did car service this place would be full all the time. Not a lot of indoor seating. I think it's 8 booths and some tables. Overall it's fried food and burgers in a retro setting. I've gone here from time to time and the food has always been consistent. It's an Aroostook 4 stars. But unless you're​ a fan of drive-ins, soda shoppes, or American nostalgia, it's just average. read more

Eh. Not terrible. Not great. Our purchase was the Big Boy burger for my husband, popcorn chicken basket for me. Homemade lemonade wasn't like you get at the fair, which I thought it would be. It was our first time at Burger Boy today and wow we were so disappointed! It was a very long wait for our food. While we waited we had to listen to employees being loud and unprofessional carrying on with a group of kids that came in. The employee that seemed to be in charge did nothing to control the environment. Honestly, Burger King would have been better and we don't like Burger King......Chicken sandwich was burnt and over fried, fries were ice cold and cole slaw too warm to safely eat. My husband read that Burger Boy was recently voted best cheeseburger & fries in the entire state of Maine. Well after reading that we decided to give it a try. I am so happy we did. The food was delicious, the service was great & we loved the decor. It is worth the drive to Caribou & we will definitely be back. read more

Almost every day of my son and grandchildren's 12 day visit necessitated a visit to fill up on outrageously delicious Fries with Gravy and Lobster Rolls. Sub par food at best, dried out burgers, bland fries. very over priced. Got a burger basket, the food was nothing to write home about and I cant remember what is cost but I remember it was sky high for the quality of food received. The ice cream is good and that is decently priced but the place is always busy and full of kids so I tend to stay clear of the place. read more

i grew up in Caribou and when i come to visit, Burger Boy is a must for me. Went there twice to eat and i enjoyed every bite of my clams and my fish filet. Awesome. At other times, i went there for ice cream, many flavors both soft and hard. Easy parking, freindly service and hard working owner for sure. read more
