I've eaten at Jade Island several times and have done takeout many times as well. First of all, I actually really like their sushi. Many of my fellow yelpers seem to dislike it, but I've had several rolls and have enjoyed them all. They are rather small, though. My mom loves the hunan chicken. This last time, we ordered the special wonton soup and the broth was very bland. My spare ribs were absolutely the driest I've ever had. However, my daughter loves the steamed vegetable dumplings and their tamago. Their beef lo mein is also quite good. More importantly, on multiple takeout occasions, they have forgotten significant parts of our order, resulting in us needing to return, which is very frustrating. Went there for wings and unfortunately they sell frozen bagged wings. I WAS HIGHLY UPSET when I got to work to eat my lunch. Then the cramped shrimp fried rice in the small two compartment container. They gave 4 wing flings (2 wings) told me $14 but was charged a dollar more when I saw receipt. Won't speak on their other food but don't go if you want Chinese wings...you won't get them. No I mean alone I was the only one there but gave it a shot anyhow. This is a sushi review and it is some of the worst I have ever had. Trust me when I say I have had a lot of sushi. Service was great as you may expect when your alone. Fortunately I was out of there in 30 minutes. I felt so bad for the server I left a 35% tip because it may have been the only one she got that night. One is the loneliest number. That should be a song I do love music. Nothing was good. Nothing. Scallion pancakes and beef sticks were over cooked or had been sitting for a long long time. Sushi smelled spoiled. Tuna tartar was white-ish orange. Just awful. This not a sushi review . I have not ordered any sushi from here. However, we have had many other dishes from here. The place is consistently fresh and tasteful . We really enjoy the Generals chicken, the upcharge for white meat is a good move. Singapore noodles are solid also. The workers are always friendly and also dine in is BYOB. If there is any suggestion for improvement it'd be on the fried rice . It is a bit bland. Overall tho at least 4 stars everytime for the gf and I... It's certainly not fair it's currently 2.5 stars and I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot. read more

This restaurant has benn sold so many times, I've lost count. This current owner really needs to make some improvemnets, STAT! Went for lunch, no one else was in there. Normally, there would be a few other diners, as well as people picking up take-out. The hour I was there, no one came in, nor did the phone ring. You are seated and not given anything but a glass of water. No noodels and duck sauce, no tea. The food was not like anything I have ever seen. Cold noodles in sesame sauce- that's it....no sesame seeds, no bean sprouts, no scallions....JUST noodles with sauce on them. What the heck????? Everything is the bare minimum, tasteless and luke warm. Even the hot tea wasn't hot. I put my finger in it and it wasn't even warm. Now, I could see being served cold food if the restaurant was packed, but I was the only person there!!! TWO servers, one customer and they still couldn't serve me hot food! There are far too many good Chinese restaurants in the area that have better food and service- Joy Chalet-Mizu-Ming's Noodle & Dumpling House, to name a few. I'll stay away from the Jade Island, at least until they have another new owner. read more

As a local resident I have been going here off/on for the past 10 years. They have changed hands several times, not always for the good. I always use take-out. Their Chinese entries are neve consistent, depending on the day of thew week. In a Chinese restaurant I always use "HOT &SOUR" soup as a good guide to whether all other entries are good. I'm a "FOODIE" and eat a lot of Asian food. The Hot & Sour soup has not been consistent. They change cooks so many times each one brings their own recipe ? There is a real lack of attention to detail. Good consistency is what brings me back and makes me a customer. Don't order take-out on Friday half the time they leave something out. The General TSO's chicken with white meat, is so fried up and the sauce gummy, you can hardly eat it. The lack of consistency is killing this place. I'll go elsewhere in the future. *********WOW! TOTAL FREAK SHOW! '*********** They are a bunch of crazy fighting lunatics! I went in to get some dumplings which I decided to 'eat-in'. The meal was polluted by unbelievably loud, completely disturbed bellowing and shrieking (in Mandarin Chinese I believe, not sure though). It wasn't just the kind of run-of-the-mill loud talking/shouting you might hear in a lively kitchen. This woman and young man seemed as thought they might have broken into fisticuffs at any moment, which fortunately didn't happen. I'm not sure if there was any cursing as I don't speak any Chinese dialects yet, but for what it's worth, I didn't really sense any if that helps. Nevertheless, it was passionate, loud and filled with incredible rage. I have never heard anything like that in any business ever in my entire life, no exaggeration whatsoever. I think I've made my point regarding this, complete and total freak show. Now for the food, the dumplings were excellent with a proper meat to dough ratio and my Spicy Tuna hand rolls were fresh-off-the-boat delicious. Really it was a pleasant surprise in such an unassuming little place. Call me a glutton for punishment but I honestly didn't mind a bit of "dinner theater" as long as no one got hurt I suppose, who am I to judge? Maybe it's just their act (doubt it) or a "new customer hazing" of sorts who knows? Anyway... Horrific customer service. After 2 hours of waiting for the delivery and calling multiple time we were told that the food had already been delivered. The food was left on the porch, no one knocked, no doorbell was rung. When calling to complain the employee just went silent and stopped responding. It was the equivalent of being hung up on. Had the lunch special sushi rolls (3 for $12) and the general tso lunch special which was $7.50 I believe. Food came with soup or salad and rice. First of all, I am absolutely in love with the sushi and the rolls and the wonton soup. The general tso on the other hand is good but very, very sweet. I end up putting wasabi on the chicken to try and kill some of the sweetness. I will definitely return in the near future. read more

We order a couple of dishes for take out tonight, one of them being shrimp with broccoli, and you could hardly see the shrimp with the pound of green stuff. If I could give this horrible place minus stars I would. I was there for lunch today and what I ordered I wouldn't feed to my dogs. It had gelatinous yellow "stuff" under my chicken with pieces of lemon yet it was supposed to be sesame chicken. The wonton soup was colored water with 2 of the smallest wontons I have ever seen. The pork fried rice was so pale it could have actually been white rice. And when we asked for duck sauce she gave us a "quarter size" amount of it. When she took my plate and it was obvious that I did not eat but 2 bites she asked me if I wanted a box. I told her no that it wasn't good at all. She kept arguing that, that is how they make it and didn't offer me anything else. And then when I said to her that I did not eat my lunch to please take off the lunch she stated no you ordered lunch you pay for the lunch. If it was anywhere edible I would have had no problem. This place is absolutely HORRIBLE and the customer service does not exist. I should have listened to the other reviews. Recently central bucks county had no power. We had to travel out to eat we were going to Willow Grove. We noticed lights on in this shopping center so we stop. There was a few red flags from the door. The Big sign on the door said take out only. They were running it like a Chinese restaurant in the in the city. I noticed families with children coming in and other people trying to get dining service the woman at the cash register kept saying take out only we have no server due to emergency. A man standing around in a coat that works there and a sous chef and her. People were walking out of the restaurant because they want dining service. The food did not meet my expectations it was below par I felt like I was an episode of fear factor. My friends said wow we wasted money tonight I agree that's all I can say. read more
