Ya'll, believe all the one stars. The service is almost intentionally bad. It operates like a jailhouse slop kitchen run by equally miserable staff that seem personally offended that you showed up to eat. I placed a to-go order and when I questioned how long it would take, so that we could walk around and come back to pick up the order, the waiter responded with an unnecessarily snarky attitude, telling me that they were "not a fast-food restaurant." I wasn't asking for fast food. I was simply asking about the wait time. There was absolutely no reason to be condescending to a customer. Since I didn't have 30 minutes to wait, I asked him to cancel the order and refund my payment. This somehow made him even snarkier. I asked to speak to a manager, who I'm fairly convinced may be a fictional character at this location. After some additional attitude, he finally agreed to cancel the order. Except he didn't. Which raises the obvious question: why work in an industry that requires you to interact with people when you seem to actively resent interacting with people? If basic courtesy and politeness are beyond your emotional bandwidth, perhaps customer service is not the career path for you. I was charged for an order I never received, and the refund was never processed. I only discovered the charge much later when reviewing my bank statement and ultimately had to dispute the transaction with my bank to get my money back. Avoid this place like the bubonic plague. Was stuck between this and Shake Shack. But I also go to Shake Shack and have heard some good things about this place so wanted to try it out. Bad mistake. My bacon burger was thrown together like it was trash. I opted out of the bacon for pepper jack and added lettuce. I feel like they skimped out of the waffle fries too. But literally it felt like that couldn't care less about the customer service. When I get Shake Shack for half the price it looks more put together and taste twice as good. I'll dined with my family and this was during the FIFA World Cup so they had the game playing on the tvs there. Our server was clearly distracted because he forgot my cousin ordered a water and a meal. And then when we were done with our meal and mind ready to order out check, we just have been waiting at least close to ten minutes for it. The server wasn't observant of our table at all, watching the game, talking to another girl at the end of our table when we were waiting for things. While waiting for my recent flight at JFK I saw they have a Jacob's Pickles here. It's in JetBlue Terminal 5 at JFK. Good spot to have a tasty breakfast biscuit sandwich, fried chicken and biscuits, or a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. Full bar to sit at and have a beer or cocktail, some counter seating along the open window area, and tables on the outside to eat and people watch while waiting for your flight. There are also a few order and pay kiosks by the entrance. It's quality eating and a nice step up from the normal airport food offerings, but also expect to pay airport prices. read more

I stopped at Jacob's Beer, Biscuits & Pickles in Terminal 5 -- the JetBlue terminal at JFK -- during a layover and ended up really enjoying my experience. I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine while waiting for my connecting flight. The service at the bar was friendly and attentive, which is always a win in a busy airport. The only downside -- and probably no surprise for any airport traveler -- was the price of the wine. A 9 oz Canyon Road pour was $24, which definitely made me blink twice. Airport pricing... yikes! But at least everything else made up for it. One thing I really appreciated was that the menu wasn't your typical generic airport food. As someone who loves biscuits and pickles, this spot immediately drew me in. I ordered the Buttermilk Chicken & Biscuits, and it was delicious. The chicken breast was fried perfectly -- crispy, flavorful, and piping hot -- served over a biscuit drizzled with honey and topped with chopped pickles. It came with classic waffle fries, and the entire dish arrived incredibly fast. Overall, it was a bright, tasty surprise for an airport meal and far better than the usual grab-and-go options. We were flying out of JFK Airport on Friday morning and every food place was very crowded so we decided to give this place a try. It was also busy but we got a table after a few minutes wait. The menu has several biscuit breakfast sandwiches as well as a few omelettes. I opted for the ham egg and cheese breakfast biscuit with waffle fries. Everything tasted great. When we were seated, we requested a high chair and waited over 10 minutes for one to be brought to our table. The high chair we received had a broken safety buckle. When we asked if another high chair was available, we were told they were all like that, which was very concerning. After being seated, it took more than 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our table. Once we finally ordered, we waited approximately 45 minutes for our food, and only two of the three meals arrived. To make matters worse, we were told there was no clean silverware available and that we would have to wait for utensils. By the time my meal arrived, the other two people in my party had already finished eating. I ordered a veggie omelette, but when it was served, it contained no vegetables at all--just egg and cheese. Between the broken high chair, long waits, lack of clean utensils, incomplete orders, and incorrect food, this was an extremely disappointing experience, especially when trying to grab breakfast before catching a flight. read more

Area is a bit loud due to the live dj playing in the hub, and service can be a bit less than responsive (eg getting napkins to go with a messy sandwich), but overall food came out fast and price wasn't out of line for the quality. Asked an employee if I could just sit at the bar and he said "sure, any seat that's open." There was a sizeable water spill on the table, but I assumed someone would clean it. I was wrong. I asked her for a napkin, which would've signaled there's a need for a napkin. She picked up on this and wiped the table in front of me down with a rag soaked in some solution. So now instead of an isolated water spill, I have an entire section covered in some unknown rag solution. I proceeded to use the napkins of someone that left and cleaned the table myself. Now it's time to order. This is a very weird hipster wtf type of menu. I just wanted scrambled eggs, bacon, and coffee. But you gotta see the breakfast menu, it's almost like a crazy person made it. I think there was an entree consisting of French toast, fried chicken, fried eggs, and biscuits. Again, wtf? Anyway, I point to a selection and ask if they can do scrambled eggs instead of fried, no cheese. My oh so delightful server says yes. I order the eggs, bacon, and a cup of coffee. I got a fried egg (of course) encased in a quart of cheese, 2 pieces of bacon, and half a loaf of bread. Sigh. 25 bucks wasted. I eat the bacon, picked at the edible parts of the fried egg drenched in cheese, and left. I tipped 20% knowing that a bad tip wouldn't change anything. I don't even mind the rude non-attentive service (although my server sure did switch up when a person of a certain demographic sat down after me), but the food was atrocious. Had an early flight to catch at JFK airport, we needed to grab some breakfast. Place was crowded and buzzing with people. They took about 25 minutes to produce 3 breakfast sandwiches and a drink. The timing wasn't great and the prices were a bit pricey But the taste was up there. The breakfast biscuit was cheesey, had a great yolk, and was on a buttery biscuit. The fries were crispy but I think because we had it to go it became slightly soggy. They don't give sauces to go unless you ask. I did try there orange juice it was mid, nothing spectacular. We shared the patty melt which had two small hamburgers on it a few sliced pickles on the bottom with some spicy sauce and some lukewarm waffle fries for around $25. We had two glasses of wine and the bill was around $80. As of April 2026, it's the only sitdown restaurant open in terminal five at JFK. Everything else is under construction. Highly disappointed in the service! Whoever the manager is, either doesn't care or there isn't one. At about 10am on a Monday, we waited by the host stand for over 15 min, no host present and numerous servers walking past the long line forming with no acknowledgment. It definitely not as busy as you would think for such slow service. The server who finally sat us, she was rude. Our actual server was okay but couldn't remember orders. The bar was slow to pour wines, at least 10 min in between. We actually bonded with our neighboring tables over the poor service. The space is beautiful and the prices are nice and great food, so you would expect great service, but that is where they severely lack.
