horrible food & service! I arrived at the restaurant tired from having 3 connecting flights in the same day. I saw NY Deli and figured i would get what i asked for. After spending $38 on a sandwich & drink, i received pastrami halfheartedly thrown in the box with NO dressing, cheese, nothing, just bread. The little shot glass of potato salad tasted old, so to avoid food poisoning, i threw it away. I was able to eat the sandwich (mosly bc i was famished). The best I can say about this one is that they are pretty quick, but if you're thinking you're going get a sandwich mad to order..."fuggedaboutit" Everything here is premade and very expensive. I purchased a tuna salad sandwich and coke, not thinking to ask the price beforehand. I mean, how much could it actually be? Well, Yelpers, a lot! Worst Reuben ever. No fork to eat salad. Took forever to get it. You would think for the name they would up their quality and quantity.

This place is horrible. I stopped in for a Reuben sandwich on a bun with a side of potato salad, and pickle. The price on the menu was $22 plus 4.50 for a cup of hot tea. First of all, the sandwich I received was not a Reuben. It was a corn beef sandwich with nothing on it. I took it back and told the cashier I asked for a Reuben. I sat for 10+ minutes waiting on my sandwich. Meanwhile, the two people that were working on the food began talking about not having a break, maybe going on when she clocks out. She left naturally, leaving one person to fix food. I wasn't watching everything but at one point no one was at the front and when she did come back, she was on the phone with people standing there waiting. The cashier reminder her that I was waiting on the Reuben. A few minutes later she gave her a box with the sandwich. I check it before I left and there was no sauerkraut. So, I said something, "there's no sauerkraut on here and she says, "we don't have any more sauerkraut!" It would have been great to know that in the beginning when I ordered the sandwich. I could have a least chose something else. It seems like they will give you what they want you to have or what they know how to fix... Very poor service and to top it off I did not get a receipt when I push yes I want a receipt. I check my bank account when I got home and was over charged by more than $10. Thus, instead of spending $26.50 + tax I was charged $36.78. Crooks and poor service! read more

I have been here a few times. There is usually a line, but that's to be expected seeing that there are not much eateries open very early in the morning at the airport. The only reason for a 4 is whatever is in the menu, that is what it is. You cannot add. I wanted a platter of eggs and bacon with toast, but I could only get it with Pancakes. It was delicious. So good. I don't like a lot of carbs, but the pancakes were so fluffy and tasty. I really enjoyed my breakfast while waiting to board my flight. read more

this might be the worst sandwhich I've ever had and it was $21! I ordered the Rueben sandwich and the meat was basically thick chunks of corned beef that were super chewy. I've been here before years ago when using American Airlines and returned today. The food is still good, and service is friendly. Tastes like good corner bodega food that's fast disappearing from the city. I had the cheese omelette and it was hot and fresh. I ate it with the toast, very filling so I couldn't finish the potatoes since I don't eat that much. Plenty of food for $8.99. I've eaten both breakfast and lunch at this place as I've flown into and out of JFK. This morning for breakfast we were perusing the menu when we were greeted warmly by the manager. Ordering was quick and they had plenty of breakfast options. I got the pancake, eggs and bacon platter and it was ready quickly. I came through JFK airport in New York on a layover. It was lunchtime and I had a craving for a pastrami sandwich. The sandwich was tasty, but that was about the only good thing I could say about this place. The cashier was not friendly at all. I asked for a pastrami sandwich and he said "What do you want on it?" I didn't know what the options were as there was no list posted. I shrugged and said "Um, cheese and lettuce I guess" I mean, it would have been nice if there were a sign with all the options. After I got my food, I realized I had been charged $1 for cheese and 25¢ for lettuce; I felt this should have been disclosed up front! Better yet, lettuce and cheese shouldn't cost extra at a deli, come on. As I said, the sandwich itself was tasty, but the bread (hero) was not toasted and it was not cut all the way through, so the pastrami was not evenly distributed. The food is wrapped in foil and then given to you in a paper bag. Brooklyn Deli does not have a seating area. You can stand at a counter there and eat or walk over to another seating area in the airport. I bought one sandwich and one bottle of Snapple and the total came out to $17 US. I understand airport food is overpriced, but I felt the service could and should have been friendlier. read more

Have you ever been so hungry you thought you could eat anything? Well this place will put you to the test. The service was fast and friendly, but that is about all I can say. I had a New York Ruben. The meat was substantially fatty, but even worse rubbery. The same was true for the French fries. It was as if they had blanched them this morning then microwaved them to order. Not crunchy and even more chewy than the sandwich. I finally gave up and threw out 1/2 my meal because I was getting tired of chewing. read more

Great little place with good food, welcoming staff and surprisingly reasonable prices for an airport. earlier I'd tried a nearby sit down restaurant with typical high priced lousy meals and after waiting forever to be seated (the place was empty) and then with no one taking my order I decided to jump ship and leave. I loved it. While looking around a worker came out and asked if I needed help. I got a burger with cheese and it was great. No charge for lettuce and tomato. My wife got grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes also pretty good. Total cost $20. Pretty reasonable for airport food. The premade sandwiches and grilled hot dogs also looked appetizing. read more
