Stopped over after a Yelp Event nearby with a group of friends. When we first walked in we noticed it was a bit warm and the waitress later confirmed they had issues controlling the temperature. They had the door open to allow for some cool air to enter. We opted to grab drinks and a few apps. We got jalapeño cream cheese wontons, fried pickles, chicken tenders & cheese curds. Everything was just okay. Most of the menu is typical bar food with the option to build your own burger. I ordered a can drink, I did ask for a glass for it but was never given on. Service was a bit slow all around but we were just chilling for the most part. Our group had Chicken Tenders, Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and the Monday Sloppy Joe special. The stand out for us was the Chicken Tenders as they were (we think) fried like you typically fired fish. The Nashville Hot Chicken was good, maybe slightly dry and there no complaints with the Sloppy Joe. Additionally the waffle cut fries and seasoned sour cream hit the spot. Jackson's hole is a lovely little dive bar in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. This is my best friends favorite hidden spot. Probably overlooked by many. Go Gophers!! Owner Johnny and his staff are always kind each time I've visited. Perfect place to catch a game on the TV and relax. Nice wood interior. Decent beers on tap and major plus they have an NA beer in a can. I do wish it was a local but I'm more than happy with Sam Adam's. I had a side salad it was a decent portion and the balsamic dressing was good. The shoestring fries look underwhelming. Let me tell you they are perfectly seasoned and need nothing extra. Everything is decently priced and not price gouged like many places now days. The restrooms have always been clean even on busy evenings. My fiancé and I were in Minneapolis this past weekend and wanted to find a bar that would be broadcasting the Chiefs / Texans game. I Googled, Chiefs Bar in Minneapolis, and Jackson's Hole came up. Hoping Google didn't let me down, I was much relieved to see the Chiefs flags hanging from the rafters of the bar when we walked in. Our server was friendly and made sure we always had what we needed. We shared a giant pretzel, which was sooo good! I had a couple of apple ciders with vodka and my fiancé enjoyed a glass of Michter's neat. Bar was definitely in an old building but it was clean and so were the restrooms. Came to Minneapolis for the Royals vs Twins series, and found this delightful dive of a sports bar that the Internet said was a Chiefs Kingdom bar on game days. True to form, they really came through on the first Amazon Prime TNF game. The staff did everything right to make us feel like an extension of The Kingdom. The waitress we had was newer and when I asked if it was happy hour and what their specials were she just said "I don't know" and didn't bother checking. The food came out quickly but was of very poor quality. My fish and chips looked like fried banana boats. It was severely overdone and had more batter than actual fish. Came here for the Super Bowl as our friends have officially subbed it as a Kansas City chiefs bar so we had a blast celebrating with them. Come on a normal weekend evening and you may not find this place as packed. Drinks are always super strong so I tend to stick to beer. Food is actually really good and I highly recommend eating here if you need a quick bar bite. The gyro, the gyro salad, the wings, the chicken tenders, and im sure whatever else is in the menu is great. It's a somewhat newer dive bar that doesn't try too hard to be a dive bar (which would be annoying) and it doesn't call itself one, either. It sort of has a Western or rural feel to it without going overboard. It's a place where you can get a drink, maybe some food, and enjoy yourself. We've had good cocktails, beer and food here. I usually hate bars like Jackson's Hole, but the joint served its purpose on this pleasant evening in May. Having dinner a few doors down at 112 Eatery with my wife, daughter and her husband, I was a bit unsettled because my Milwaukee Bucks had a playoff game at the same time. None of my devised plans for skipping dinner would go unscathed, but running out and sprinting down the block to Jackson's Hole a few times during dinner would be tolerated by my saintly wife. The bartenderess enjoyed my distress and obvious furtive affect, and the large screen allowed me to see the Bucks totally dismantle the Raptors. She noticed me running into the bar and had my cocktail waiting. I ran back and forth around four times for about 30 minutes total. I enjoyed the meal at 112 and the game at Jackson's Hole. I couldn't ask for more. My wife, daughter, and son-in-law probably enjoyed the reprieve of my omnipresence, although they would never admit it. read more

This is a fun happy hour spot. We've come here a few times before Timberwolves games and have enjoyed it every time. The food is an interesting combination of items, and I'm not sure what you'd call it. Maybe modern tex mex? Nouveau wild west? Either way, it's a good selection. They have fun appetizers and really good tacos. We really enjoyed the veggie burger,too. There is always an interesting drink on the board. The first time we were here, it was root beer flavored. I had some time to kill before a nearby dinner reservation so I popped into Jackson's Hole for a quick beer. The place is going for rustic -- I get it. The wooden decor, mural of a mountain, wagon-wheel-like high-top tables, etc, all screams "rustic!" It's fine, but maybe not really my cup of tea. I also have to say it was kind of offputting to come into the entryway and have it basically appear like it was under construction, with an unfinished paint job and a generally unfinished feel. You walk through a small little hallway and into the bar. It was happy hour so apparently that means all beers are $3. Great. Can't beat the price. But sure wish they had a better selection. Those of you who know me know I love good beer, and I settled for a Blue Moon. That should tell you something. I took an empty table and waited for my hubby, who upon learning that I had selected a Blue Moon chose to bypass a drink altogether and wait for dinner. What can I say? We're beer snobs. Anyway, the waitress in charge of our section came by twice -- once when I sat down and once when my husband came. I could tell she was perturbed we were sitting there and not ordering food. I could understand if there were people waiting for a table, but the place was only half full. There was no one there but us wanting that table. She seemed especially ticked when she found out I'd gone to the bar to get a beer already, so no tip for her, even on a $3 happy hour beer. Sorry, but you could at least still be hospitable. Not the best attitude. Let's just say that. In all, I downed my beer faster than I should have, regretted ordering it immediately and departed for our dinner date quickly. Came in for HH on a wednesday and there weren't many people which was fine since it resulted it quicker service. Our waitress was friendly and seemed so welcoming; given the reviews I've read about how bad service is, i should have gotten her name. Anyway although she was attentive she wasn't at all intrusive. Now to the good part. . . The food (and drinks)! -dry rub wings are bland, they should really consider adding two to three times of rub to boost the flavor. -for a dollar more I was able to add fries which you can do for any HH appetizer. The fries were good, not excellent. . .just good. -they had about 20 different beers (bottled & draft) for $3. There were 2-3 options for $4, but I don't recall their names. -one of the ladies I went with got the full slab of ribs (not on HH) which was pretty good and enough for two people. Unfortunately, I didn't see the HH specials advertised anywhere; so we had to rely on our waitress to talk through it all and hope she didn't forget anything important. For what this place is- I think it is excellent. My first and most recent visit here was nothing short of exceptional. We walked in and grabbed our own seats, with a waitress coming by quickly to grab our drinks. She was tentative on filling them back up when empty without being asked- and we drank a lot of water so that was very nice to have constantly refreshed instead of having to ask. First for food, we ordered the spring rolls. I have had a lot of spring rolls in my day and these were probably the best ones I've ever had. For $7, you get 4 of the largest, freshest tasting spring rolls that you'll ever have from a restaurant. They were super hot and enjoyable all the way through and the sweet chili dipping sauce was great. For entrees we both got the fish tacos, and they were fabulous. There wasn't a ton of fish in each one but it was a perfect portion to where I wasn't super full and the flavor was excellent. I also loved the sauce that was put on the tacos. You can get beans and rice or chips and salsa and I went the chips and salsa route which was a solid choice. All around, food was great for the money, much better than I expected. We did not order any drinks but they had a great happy hour and I'll attach some photos of the happy hour menu. Everyone here seemed to be a local and know eachother so definitely had a local vibe instead of being touristy. Will definitely be returning for happy hour and spring rolls in the future. read more

Tried this place for the first time through DoorDash. I couldn't believe the fried pickles were still crispy! The bad news was when I opened up my chopped salad, it was missing like everything! The burger was fantastic, really tasty and the toppings I'd selected when ordering were all correct. Seasoned waffle fries were AWESOME. We also got a Philly sandwich and it was delicious too. I come here often to watch college football. Namely, USC (University of Southern California) football. Jackson's Hole hosts the USC Alumni Club of the Twin Cities game watches there. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but I'm pretty close. The pub grub is good. Fish tacos, burgers, salads, wraps, etc. If there is a game that you want to watch, they will likely oblige. They have a full bar and a solid beer selection. All the tables are set up along the windows, so there's some great people watching too! read more

This place is a hidden gem on first avenue. I had never heard of Jackson's Hole until I was invited there for a birthday party. I checked out their menu online and read the yelp reviews and was like, "Why haven't I heard of this place?" My mouth started watering when I was looking at their menu. When we got there some people had ordered a bunch of app's for everyone to share, I had a few flavors of chicken wings (EXCELLENT!) and the chicken nachos. I wanted my own plate of goodness so we got a burger and wings to split. The burger was big and juicy. The fries were cooked perfectly. It's making me hungry just writing about it now. The bar was nice, it wasn't busy when we were there, which was a Saturday night Downtown, which was a little surprising, hence my hidden gem comment. The bar had a western theme but it wasn't overdone in a cheesy cowboy way. We were upstairs and there was another bar up there so I'm assuming the place gets busy enough to open that up occasionally. I liked Jackson's Hole, not sure if it's a place I would actively try to go to, but if I was downtown and looking for a place to go, I would def suggest this place! read more

Oh man I hate being wrong. The boy told me that he wanted to watch the NCAA champs at home, and I insisted on getting out of the condo to watch it out - especially considering my 3-year-old-will-never-expire-restaurant.com coupon. There were a handful of times she forgot about us and was engulfed in a conversation with the bacardi girls, but she was legit the best part of the trip. The boy was annoyed as the NCAA championship game was on. Finally we got one of the channels right, however the sound was Eric Hutchinson tunes from 2005. The Ugly Mug is now Jackson's Hole. Lots of recycled barn wood, and tables made of barrels with legs made from horseshoes. Plusses: Weekday happy hour from 4pm to 7pm, which is great since I don't get off work until 6ish most days. Quesadillas that have "Jackson's Hole" piped out in sour cream. It was surprisingly good! I give them two stars because they have awesome apps! However, every time I go to this restaurant (it's across the street from my office), I'm so underwhelmed. The service is always so slow and I usually have to flag someone down to get them to come to our table. There's also a pretty crabby bar tender that's usually there during Happy Hour. If you go for lunch, expect to be there for a full hour. Speed is not their forte, and the food really isn't good enough to keep coming back. Jackson's Hole opened recently...I can't even remember what used to be there, to be perfectly honest. Just one of those little Downtown places that gets busy on the weekends, and I never go on the weekends. But I digress... JH turned out A LOT better than I anticipated. They were still open while they were under construction, which was odd - paint cans and tarps everywhere, and everything was covered in sawdust. I was not impressed. The decor is decidedly cowboy bar - wood floors, distressed wooden chairs, and country music blaring from the speakers. Every so often, you get lucky, and they will play classic rock instead. Happy hour at JH can't be beat - $3 taps/rails/wines (generous pours) til 7pm, and I recently was given a couple of 2-4-1 entree coupons.
