The doctors are fine, but the staff is clueless. I paid for a recent visit by check -- they cashed it -- and then they sent me another bill. I sent them a copy of the canceled check thinking that would end it, but I was wrong. I've now sent copies of the canceled check THREE TIMES (the last time by certified mail). I tried to bring my elderly mother here, but they kept giving us the run around. Every time we went there for her appointment they would cancel and have some excuse about their equipment. They rescheduled three different times, giving notice the day of the appointment. This office is driven entirely by GREED. I had perfect vision all of my life; my right eye developed a cataract due to medications, NOT a congenital condition. Jacksoneye center books as many appointments as possible M, W;Th, and schedule as many surgeries as possible on Tuesdays. Then they cancel all of the people they cannot UPSELL into financing $15K new lenses. They try to convince you the standard lenses and surgical removal of cataracts covered by your insurance will be useless most of the time! They tried to push us into financing to have BOTH eye lenses replaced when the left eye is not damaged based on the eye developing cataracts someday later. They do not answer their phones. I requested my medical records while I was in the office: They said they would email them. I gave them 24 hours but of course no email was sent. This is a total bait and switch operation - we found the center because they (supposedly) accept our health insurance United Healthcare: But Jacksoneye tells patients AFTER the diagnostics, AFTER letting you believe you are covered to have your vision restored, THEN they tell you they ONLY perform surgeries using methods and equipment United Healthcare does NOT cover. So they finish your appointment with a sales agent who offers you FINANCING to take out a loan so you can get the $15K eye surgeries they want to do but are NOT covered by insurance. This center is moving to Grayslake, getting everything shiny and new, so they are booking as many surgeries as possible, upselling, and pressuring people who are desperate to regain sight into taking out loans instead of providing the covered medical care needed. read more

After being a patient for years I am looking for a new doctor. I was scheduled and rescheduled for a procedure 3 times - all 3 times I called the office on the day of the procedure with questions and was told when I called that the doctor was in, was sick, and the last time - just did not want to do the procedure that day. Not once did the office call me to reschedule. I suppose they would have told me when I arrived for the procedure. All 3 times I took time off from work. No consideration for my lost income, my time, my recurring eye issue or for me as a patient. I know the doctor and the office won't care that they lost a patient; I'm writing the review to warn potential patients. read more

I have been a patient of Jackson Eye for several years. My last two annual appointments were less than satisfactory. I made my appointment to see Dr. Jackson. when it was time for the doctor portion of the exam, I was presented with a Dr I had never met. This happened 2 years in a row. I asked about this upon paying my bill and the staff couldn't tell me why I hadn't seen Dr Jackson. This was a bit confusing for me. I now know why they wouldn't comment on my question. Dr. Jackson sold his practice. Too bad they did disclose this to their current patients , so that we could decide if we wanted to continue receiving eye care from them. I will not be going back. They rescheduled my appointment four different times, The first two times my son took off work so he could take me there , only to be told I had to reschedule, because their system is shut down. they could of called me, but no, they told us once we arrived there. The other two times was when we called them the day of the appointment only to told that I need to reschedule again, because their system is once again shut down hum, same excuse as before. I have cataracts that need to be removed, and they just keep playing games. After the fourth time they said i need to reschedule, I said enough is enough with this place. They are totally bad news. I would never refer this doctor to anyone. the staff is so unprofessional. trying to get in touch with office to get refund for services not done was terrible. After numerous phone calls, for three months plus, which no one got back to me, I took action with doing a dispute thru my bank. My bank was able to take care of getting my money back. This place may boast about being an innovative eye care center, but I would not recommend it. After hearing about its clinical trials from its own recording when I was on hold forever, I asked. The first time I asked about it was more than one year ago. The woman I was to talk with never called me as promised. Ultimately, I canceled my appointment at that time. I forgot why I canceled that first appt but it all came back to me today. I made another appt and also inquired about the clinical trials recently, before realizing it though. I was never connected with the woman - let's call her "V". After several attempts someone who claimed to be a "manager" answered. From the get-go she was condescending, even to the point of interrogating. She was, lets just say, unhelpful. I was so riled I called back and canceled the appointment. To add, a relative recently had surgery here, and told a tale of sheer horror and panic from her experience. Caveat emptor! read more

Offers dates that are only to the convenience of the office. Cancels appointments with less than a days notice. If you have Medicaid you may want to avoid this one, I think that's what they want rather than having to deal with you. read more

As an optometrist I see Dr Jackson when I need his ophthalmological specialty and my associates can't treat me in our offices. He also does my Botox. I strongly recommend his services. I do wish he was a little more on time but as a fellow doctor I know we do get backed up as you never know how many emergencies you will have that day. read more

Had my Lasik procedure back in July 2015. So far so good, I'm seeing 20/15 which is better than 20/20. Still have minor dry eyes and a bit of a halo but overall it's not bad and if I use my drops I'm good. I would give it 5 stars but the wait is ridiculous. I waited 2 hrs for surgery and every follow up visit when I have to see the Dr is pretty bad, which I don't really understand since you only see him for a minute or two. I did give it 4 stars because the staff is good and the results were amazing. Another con is they reschedule almost all the time because the Dr is out of town, now I don't think it's the staff's fault since they can't dictate if he will return back on time but that does cause a bit of an inconvenience. read more

I've just completed having cataract removal and lens replacement in both eyes. I was referred to Jacksoneye for the procedure. I found the practice to be extremely well run and efficient. On the initial visit, my history was reviewed, tests were run on both eyes and I met with the office consult and presented with a list of options, and their costs, available to the me. After a couple of days, I gave them my decision. The surgery dates and follow-up appointment times were made. Everything went exactly as predicted! Except equipment at the hospital failed and one surgery needed to be rescheduled. But I was notified in advance and the alternate appointment was made at the same time. The follow-ups went quickly. Everything was like clock-work. The staff was friendly and always had time to answer questions or make adjustments. I would definitely recommend this practice for cataract surgery. read more

I've waited up to 2 hours past my appointment time to see the doctor for a follow up. Notice that they were running behind that day would have been nice so I didn't have to take off work early. Dr. Mitch Jackson is one of the finest, exceptionally skilled and personable Eye Surgeons in Chicago and the US. His reputation amongst professionals and his credentials attained through continued education are the proof source beyond my comments. He combines knowledge with amazing dexterity, obviously very important when operating on the eye. In the past 2 weeks Dr. Jackson removed cataracts from both my eyes and implanted the new Symfony lens. My vision now is comparable to watching a TV show in 4K UHD ! It is truly life changing. No glasses needed for distance, mid range and close up reading. My review would be incomplete without including his staff, all highly skilled , very friendly and compassionate. Second cataract surgery-- I arrived at the hospital at 10:30am, for second cataract surgery. Sat in the waiting room until 4:00pm, then went back and it took 2 more hours until the procedure was done. Left the place at almost 7:00pm. The IV they put in earlier started to hurt while I was under the laser, so they had to pull me out and redo the lV and then I was awake too long while they did procedure----worse hospital experience I ever had! Was so sick afterwards--from not eating or drinking all day long. The hospital gave $25 VISA gift cards for dinner to all the patients because it was so bad. I would NEVER recommend Jacksoneye (Mitchell Jackson) to anyone. The nurses had been on duty since 5:00am and did not get to leave until after 7:00pm--and were angry also. The director of the hospital came by and apologized to everyone. She also said that they would not allow him to schedule 40 cataract operations--ever again! They had to call in extra nurses just to finish our group! It's bad when greed becomes more important than the safety and welfare of the patients. read more

Horrible experience. Staff not friendly at all. Front desk girl Lupe rolled her eyes numerous times while i was taking to her. Then went to sit and wait (because the double booked me) and could over hear her and another girl talking about me in spanish.... worst experience ever! Doctor is nice but everyone else sucks!
