Phil always meets or exceeds our needs. I've been buying tires from Jackson Tire for 15 years, my husband even longer. I now work at Lowe's, and I regularly get nails and screws in my tires. The tires are always cheerfully repaired, and as a long time customer, the repairs are free, even when it was on tires that came with a new car as opposed to purchased from Jackson Tire. We have done some shopping around and no one else in Amador County can meet or beat his prices. We have also looked at Costco, but can't get good snow tires from them, let alone for as good of a price. read more

I went to the Pine Grove CA, they're the greatest people ever! Customer service is amazing. I had a low tire pressure light on; they not only checked it they discovered that the other tire place I had gotten tires from literally put them on backwards. I've been coming here ever since I got my first car about 5 years ago. Al and the rest of the staff are so helpful and the customer service is amazing! Incredibly nice people that don't try to take advantage. As a young college student that doesn't know the first thing about cars, they've always been kind and willing to explain what the problem is. I go to school about 500 miles away but will only go here cause I know these people will take good care of my car. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Flat tire this morning...so AAA came out and swapped out the spare. A trip to Jackson Tire service and they found the leak, fixed it, swapped out the spare for the fixed tire, put the spare back under the truck bed, checked the air pressure on all tires and guess what....NO CHARGE. My brakes were making noise and I thought I needed new front brakes. They could have sold me brakes, but instead said it was just dirt on my rotors and I still had at least 5000 more miles on them. And when they greased my horse trailer bearings, one of the lug nuts was partially stripped from a previous job (somewhere else), and the mechanic fixed the threads and gave me a new lug nut. WORST BRAKE JOB EVER!!!! Had my brakes and rotors replaced here and had to return a few days later because my brake light went on, brake fluid was leaking out from under the car and the brakes wouldn't engage until the pedal was near the floor. Original job cost me over $500! Funny thing...they didn't seem surprised when I returned to get the brakes done right. While traveling on Hwy. 88, I got a steel bolt in my tire on my Toyota Highlander. I drove into Jackson Tire, tired & soaked from driving in a snow storm. The men at JT were immediately on board! They got me in & out in less than an hour, in spite of a full waiting room of people. Because they had a slightly used speciality tire for my Toyota, they only charged me $25! I was shocked! I went here after a horrible experience with another shop in town. Wanted to get some quality 60,000mi tires as I was tired of dealing with cheapo 20,000mi tires that never last past 10,000mi, but I also knew I needed to replace the stock shocks on my 10 year old Focus. After the other place told me my shocks were perfectly fine (despite 10 years and nearly 110,000mi) and fighting me to the bitter end about replacing them I went to Jackson Tire after a family friend highly recommended them. They confirmed that my shocks definitely needed replacing and I ended up with brand new Monroe gas shocks and struts plus a set 60,000mi Cooper all season tires for $1100. Now my car rides as if it's glued to the road, riding on rails. Even better they were able to do it within a work day (6 1/2 hours) because they had me schedule in advance so they could get all the parts ahead of time instead of having me bring it in right away and having me without a car for longer. Finally the price they charge me was the price they quoted me, unlike the shop I went to before. Also you can just tell they take pride in their work by how clean and organize their shop is. I just wish I knew ahead of time what pros they were and that they also work on exhausts as I would gotten my manifold leak fixed there too. This is definitely my new place for tires and maybe even repairs. read more

Always have my tires rotated every oil change. After the last oil change and rotation, noticed a shake developed at highway speed. Suspected one of the tires might have gotten out of balance so took the vehicle back to Jackson Tire where I bought the tires. Now half way through the tire life. Apparently I did somehow knock one of the tires out of balance which Jackson Tire corrected. They also found a nail that was creating a slow leak and fixed that also. When I picked up the vehicle, Al told me their tires so no charge to me. This type of service is why I am a loyal Jackson Tire customer. Thanks Al and Jerry. read more

Had taken my problem truck there for some new cats. Very satisfied!! Great price, quality service and reasonable amount of time.

Overall, they are Good people, w/good service, OK tire prices. No problems with 3 vehicles w/Cooper tires...with the exception of my recent purchase of GS3 tires. rated at 60K miles, I only got 22K out of them ;( ? tires wore out. The "regular" guy there told me (11/17 )that Cooper did not work well with replacing/pro-rating their tires ? Went back and talked with Phil, the owner, who told me that Cooper DOES offer discounts for pro-rating tires, and he would "talk to his Cooper Rep." and get back to me ..... Stopped by again in Jan, 2018... still no resolution or compensation (after buying 4 new Cooper GS5's) Phil "took some notes" and told me that he would "get back to me" ?? Still waiting for resolution after 4 MONTHS !!! I could have bought the replacement tires for $50 less at a shop in the Valley, but bought them from JT after Phil told me that he would Resolve this problem, and get me a refund for the defective GS3's ? I'm still waiting, and it's now MAY ;( I am a small business owner, and like to spend my hard earned money patronizing local business'. But... I practice "saying what I mean, and mean what I say" ... Usually I don't write reviews but today was just horrible. So I accidentally went to the jackson tires instead of the one in pine Grove I didn't know I talked to someone on the phone about a used tires well I got there and he was like you came to wrong one but let me see if we have one in. He said he did. Told me it would take about 20 minutes if I stay there instead of heading up to pine Grove so I said yes. He made me wait a 1 hour and half to tell me laughing that he didn't have it in and I told him the wrong size when he didn't even ask me the size he got it off the phone from the pine Grove guy. By then it was 5 and pine Grove one was close. I am very upset because I need the tires today so I went to a different shop and bought them new instead. He wasted my time and lost my business might not be much but still. Horrible place won't ever go there again!!! read more

I grew up in Calaveras and Amador counties and have been living in Sacramento for the last 5 years. I still make the commute from Sacramento to get all my auto work done at Jackson tire and let me explain why. There simply is NO OTHER AUTO MECHANIC SHOP like it. When I moved to sac, I tried biting the bullet and just having my auto work done at more local shops in Sac County. And I was harshly reminded of why I love Jackson Tire so much; they don't lie to me or take advantage of me. I know that because they've helped me catch the aforementioned Sacramento shops I tried taking advantage of me. The first time it was a brake shop in Sacramento; my breaks were doing some squealing and I saw an ad for the brake shop offering a free inspection. When I took it in they told me what every college student is afraid of hearing: "You need all new brakes and new rotors, yours are worn down to just barely above the legal limit." They quoted me almost $600 for the job and it was $600 that I didn't have. Desperate, I called my dad to see if he could help with the expense and he recommended bringing it back home to Jackson to have Jackson Tire do it and reminded me that they are usually more affordable. So I thanked the brake shop and left for Jackson a couple days later. When I got to Jackson tire I explained to them what the brake shop had said and they gave me a much more reasonable quote: around $400. So I left it with them. Here's the part that gets me; I got a phone call from Jackson Tire shortly after I had dropped it off, and they told me that I could come get my car any time. There was nothing wrong with it. They couldn't understand why I was told my brakes and rotors were almost completely worn because they were still measuring with several thousand miles still left on them. At that point I knew the Sacramento shop had lied to me and had tried to take advantage of me. Jackson tire tried to send me on my way without charging me a dime but I insisted that they take at least $20 for their honesty because it was invaluable to me. They showed me my brake measurements right there in person and said I was lied to. Ever since then whenever I have needed any kind of tire or alignment work, I always make the long drive back to Jackson from Sacramento because more often than not they will turn me away and say "you don't need this yet". That kind of honesty is DYING in mechanic shops. This place is golden in my book. Sadly I am moving to the Midwest and will very much NOT be looking forward to trying to find a shop that has this same amount of honesty and fair pricing. I really feel like apart from Jackson Tire, they don't exist anymore. If you want truly unparalleled pricing, honesty, and respect, bring your car here for all your tire, brake, and alignment needs. My only wish is that Jackson tire could evolve to include a more broad spectrum of auto mechanic work. But until then they're the best at what they do! Hands down and tenfold! read more

I had front end work done there and it was excellent and for a reasonable price. I tried to buy tires there and not so good. My recommendation is talk to the owner. If it is the regular guy behind the counter not so good. The owner gives you a break. I was quoted 800 for so so tires and 950 for reasonably good tire. I ended up going back to toyota in Folsom where I get the car serviced. They gave me 770 out the door for well rated tires with a 65,000 mile guarantee. I grew up here and am third generation. I would like nothing more than to spend my money on local business but when I end up paying more for less, that doesnt sit well with me. I will go back for repairs but I am definitely shopping other places (in folsom and sacramento) for my tires. read more

Price gouging . They tried to sell me a part that was priced $80. Over RETAIL . Knowing they dont buy at retail they buy wholesale but after buying the part myself at oreily's I went back for install to discover bad attitudes all around . You got caught But gave you a chance to redeem yourself .Come on guys parts are expensive enough plus labor costs are high .Amazingly a wheel weight "loosened" in their process . Car shock as bad or worse than before they worked on it and had to pay to fix . Car is better but I wont go back again . Side note I explained my dissatisfaction to Subary Plus as I looked for another choice to find they "buy at the same parts house " followed by akward silence .
