So I went to Jack's Lock & Key and told them I didn't have an original key and they said no problem. They made my copies and it all keys duplicated worked!! So happy ! Staff is very friendly. I was struggling to find a locksmith that would duplicate a small key for a padlock. (I reached out to 7 different businesses) Turns out the original copy I have is called a reverse M1 key so a lot of hardware stores (Home Depot/Lowes/Ace) don't carry it. After trying my luck at Ace, I was referred over to Jack's Lock & Key!! So glad I found this place! They were able to make 2 copies and shave it down to size since the original key is pretty thin! I scheduled this company to open the door for an eviction lockout scheduled for 7:50am. I confirmed with the company the day before and they said they would be there. The Sheriff was exactly on time for the lockout and this locksmith never showed up. I was luckily able to get in another way for the Sheriff to clear the home so we could take possession. This locksmith called me 30 minutes late saying he would be there in another 10 minutes. I told them we did not need their service - and it was very lucky I did not. I am so impressed! Yesterday, I walked in to ask if they come out to your house and change the locks. I had pictures of all my locks I needed changed, all the doors/gates, etc. He said, yes, told me how much and when I asked when can you come, he said tomorrow. I was really shocked. He came today, and was very professional and did a fabulous job. I am thrilled with what he accomplished in less than an hour. Had them swap the shells on my key fobs. The remote still works, but the fallback wouldn't, the car not recognizing the fob when inserted into the slot. I was left holding a half-dead shell. For what they charged, significantly inflated, someone had the gall, it was a total hack job with sloppy follow-through. The RFID chips were never transferred, which was verified by another locksmith nearby, who cleaned up their mess by adding RFIDs and programming it properly. read more

We recently needed to copy a key and I Yelped and Googled to find a local business, besides Lowes, The Home Depot, and Ace Hardware. Read through numerous reviews where people had issues with their copied keys working correctly. Glad Jack's Lock & Key is still open. Jack's Lock & Key is located in the Greenland Market plaza, near Winchell's. Finding parking can be a bit tricky depending on the time of day and day of the week. We walked in and no one acknowledged us, They were in the middle of copying keys for a customer ahead of me. Once she was done, and it was my turn - she didn't say much. I had to ask how much it was, and I'm sure it's more expensive than other places but I wanted it done right the first time. We were in and out within a few minutes. Bought a used truck cap and had trouble with the lock. Google searches answered no questions and instead searched for local locksmiths. I couldn't believe there was a locksmith over off of Colima and Nogales, 30 some years of living in the area, id never seen this place, and thought it had probably moved or closed. Low and behold there it is, if you blink when driving past it you missed it, its located just north of the winchells. Michael helped me out he walked out and took a look at my lock and within about 20 minutes I had a secure and functioning lock with a new key. The guy is a wizard. I ordered a special key for a cabinet which I had to pay in advance (by credit card )when placing the order( $25.00 plus tax) Today I went to pick up the key and the clerk tells me that it wasn't paid Surprisingly I told her that I had paid by credit card when I placed the order. She was insisting that it wasn't paid and I told her that she should check her records and verify payment. She started telling me that I should produce payment evidence and I told her that I wasn't going to waste my time and asked for the other woman that I dealt with when I placed the order. I recommend Lowes or anywhere else but here... This place seriously need to get their act together... If you are closed at 5:30pm you should lock up so no one can come in. Instead I arrive at 5:45pm 1/3/2012 and the door is wide open. A white chick sitting behind the counter pretend to not see me and I waited for 5-10 minutes. I saw her starring at me and i asked if they are still open.. no reply... she think i couldn't see her through the window?? WTF ... You know what, after reading reviews I guess I could partially agree with what others say here. Customer service isn't really here and it's sad since it appears to be a mom and pop type shop. I mean, the girl working wasn't exactly rude but she wasn't friendly either. They must be doing something right though because this place has been here for many years (over 20 years). I only get key copies made so I can't give much of a review on other products sold here. I came here after going to Walmart off Gale and Azusa because their keys didn't work. I came to this particular establishment to have two regluar door keys cut. Total cost was a whopping $5.12 after tax for two keys that took abt 20 seconds to cut. The same results can be achieved for much less Everwhere else and with much better service. I don't mind that it's a couple cents more at this establishment, but the lady acts like I owe her the world for cutting my keys at a premium. I got to agree with Andrew A. and Anna P. The serivce provided by the caucasian lady was subpar and communication is nonexistent. There's an antiquated sign towards the right side of the counter that states you an also get your car remote key fobs here. It's actually just a random sign that was put up, because they do not provide that service here. I called way in advance and clearly explained to the woman at the location that I needed a key made and programmed for my vehicle (gave her the vehicle specs). When I arrived this past Saturday morning she did not want to help me. She said that they did don't make those type of keys which is odd because I had confirmed a few days back.... I had to get some keys duplicated for work and found Jack's on Yelp. I'm so glad I went here! I browsed the store while waiting for the lady working there to finish up with a customer. There are a lot of things to check out - door locks, safes, keys with designs on them, key chains, etc. There is also a lovely golden retriever, Sophie, who was lounging around. She's a very chill dog and only came over to say hi when I called out her name. While I happily gave Sophie a back rub, the lady duplicated my keys. She was fast and friendly AND the price was very reasonable. I will definitely come back here for any key/lock needs. On a side note, I have to comment about the reviewer who posted that this place has racist employees. I did NOT experience any sort of negativity, bigotry, prejudice, or racism while there today (yes, I'm Asian). The work they did was decent, but unfortunately, one of the handles that I asked them to install, fell off :( It was kind of a last minute thing that I asked for them to do but it also ended up looking like it was a last minute installation.
