I live in upstate New York. I needed to find someone capable to handle a very important part of my latest custom bike project: the paint. After an extensive search and dealing with a lot of different people and companies, I found many of the artists I dealt with to be lacking. Their fees were too high, the quality of their work did not look good, etc. In fact, the worst one I found was a combination of the two: the artist's work did not look very good at all, yet her price was between $5,000 and $20,000. Nope. After almost giving up hope of finding a competent artist, I finally found Jack Kane's shop. I contacted them, and after a few emails, it became clear that Jack Kane was my guy. I worked extensively with Zane Schweer to hammer out the details of the design, and it came together beautifully. Zane was fantastic to work with. I was a little nervous about working it all out through email, but Zane made it work. He provided a number of mock-ups to consider, and we finally narrowed it all down to a specific design. The turn-around on the painting was quicker than I expected, and the quality was nothing short of fantastic. Jack's work is phenomenal, and it shows both on the gallery on his website, and in the finished project that I received. As far as price goes, no, it's not cheap, but it's VERY reasonable given the quality of his work. If you're looking for custom paint work, this is the place to go. I recently had an accident with a very new bike. After finding out the only alternative was to buy a new, costly frame, I looked into carbon fiber repair. Doing research on the web, I find a few shops. Out of the 5 emails I sent, I only got one response (and it was a very quick response) from Zane Schweer at Jack Kane Bikes. Having never gone through an issue like this, Zane patiently answered all my questions and gave me the confidence to send him my bike frame. Once I sent them my bike, the communications didn't stop there. Zane continued to email me and give me a status on my bike, never leaving me in the dark. Finally, they completed the repair on time (very quickly) and sent me the frame back. In looking at my reassembled bike, it basically looks brand new. Jack Kane bikes not only did an incredible job with the repair, but they even repainted on my Trek decals so that it looks nearly identical to what it was before my accident. I live in Los Angeles and was looking for a company to repaint my red Time road bike which I have owned since 2009. I LOVE my Time bike and didn't want to spend $4k for another Time just because I don't like the original red paint job. I searched on-line and found Jack Kane Bikes in North Carolina. I saw all the before and after photos and knew this was a very reputable company, although I did want to find a company in California. I emailed Jack Kane Bikes and two other California based companies and ONLY Jack Kane Bikes replied. I could have followed up with the other California companies, but I liked that Zane from Jack Kane Bikes took the time to answer all my questions. Their customer service is top notch! Zane worked with me on the colors I wanted and advised me on what would look best with my frame. We ended up going with pearlized white with black accents. When my bike arrived, it exceeded my expectations! My bike looks brand new! They were able to smooth out nicks in my frame and cleaned all my components! The entire process was about 4 weeks from the time I shipped it out. They took great care in packing my bike up when shipping it back to me. The price was very reasonable and because I love the results, I plan to send my tri bike to get custom painted. I really like having a bike that no one else has. I had Jack Kane and his team to repair my broken Trek Madone carbon frame and could not be more pleased with the results. From the first email to the latest one, Zane and Jack were an excellent company to do business with. I was kept well informed about the repair process before and during the short time it took them to finish the frame. The price.was reasonable and the results were truly amazing. Not only did they do a seamless job of blending the carbon at the breaks, but they also touched up the nicks and scratches, and clear coated the entire bike. I got my bike painted hot pink at Jake Kane Bikes and I love it!!!! They did an amazing job on the paint, they found some problems with my brakes and they fixed those for me as well. They finished the paint job fairly quickly, and the marketing manager sent me updates on a regular basis. They did an amazing job, it was amazing customer service, and my bike looks so good. They could not have done a better job on it, I will never send my bike anywhere else! read more
