On September 13 at around 3:10 AM, we stopped at the Jack in the Box located at 2461 Jamacha Rd, El Cajon, CA 92019, and unfortunately had an extremely disappointing experience. We pulled up to the drive-thru speaker and waited for about 5 minutes. Nobody greeted us, nobody asked us to wait, and nobody responded at all. We honestly weren't even sure if anyone was working inside. After receiving absolutely no response, we drove up to the window and waited for approximately another 5 minutes. We could see that there was an employee inside, so we eventually knocked on the window simply to get someone's attention. A female employee finally came to the window, but instead of apologizing for the wait or asking how she could help us, she immediately told us in a very rude and disrespectful manner that we had no right to knock on the window. We never got her name. At that point, after waiting around 10 minutes and then being spoken to that way, we decided to leave without ordering anything. What made this experience even more disappointing was what happened next. We drove to the Jack in the Box at 10255 Campo Rd, Spring Valley, CA 91978, and arrived at approximately 3:30 AM. The difference in service was incredible. We were greeted at the speaker immediately. Louis took our order and was extremely friendly, polite, professional, and fast. Our food was prepared quickly, everything tasted great, and his positive attitude completely changed our mood after the experience at the previous location. This shows what a huge difference one good employee can make. Thank you, Louis, for treating customers with respect and providing excellent service, especially at 3:30 in the morning. I stopped by a couple of days ago and my order was wrong. Unfortunately my food was missing of couple of items. I called the same day and was told to say my receipt if I had it and come back. I indeed did so. I came back today (days later) the manager Jennifer was amazing. She did not give me a hard time rather asked what I wanted and how my order should've been made. Got southwestern salad and forgot the strips and dressing. They gave me ranch when I said the forgot the southwest dressing. Got home didn't realize till then because the packets are the same and then had to drive back to get in line a 3rd time. My family and I frequently visit this location. The food is delicious. The staff are really nice. We usually pick up our order through the drive-through. Sometimes they are slow but it is because they are busy. They make my order consistently good each time. My go-to order are tacos and fries and it's always served fresh and hot. I love this Jack in the box. They've forgotten sauces but that's pretty much it. I ordered a shake today, and they made the wrong one, I went back in to ask for the correct one and I didn't mind waiting since I knew they were busy. 12/31/2018 update ... Had to come back because got home and my buttery jack bun was hard as a door knock ... that sucked jack. So had to take it back to get the back to get the usually- Spicy chicken!!!!! As stated in my other Jack review ...always have a good experience at Jacks. Could be because I get my usual when in the mood- 2 tacos and a small fry, or the Spicy Chicken Sandwich combo or the Breakfast Jack combo. I venture out from time to time but they have always been consistent with my orders. Thanks Jack. No matter what location I frequent, I've been a satisfied customer. read more

Reaffirmed why I like the Habit. Been ages since I have eaten at Jack in the Box. My old favorite was the sourdough burger. I got home and was dismayed at what I saw. Few pieces of bacon clumped together on one side, a little ketchup and mayo? And a dried up meat patty. I tried to add to it to improve it, but alas not much helped. The "sourdough " was dry as a bone and bore more resemblance several days old bread and the patty was equally dry. Ditto for the fries. However, the Root Beer was good. I will give a shout out to the young lady at the window (don't know her name but she has a tattoo on her neck "2002"). She was pleasant and appeared to keep things moving. In & Out isn't like this nor the Habit so why can't you guys pull it together? I used to like the food here but I'll just drive a few minutes more to have decent (fast) food. read more

I go to Jack in the Box, including this specific one, because they're almost always solid. They are starting to get stingy with their sauces. I went this past Sunday to grab lunch/dinner for my mom and I, ordered 4 sandwiches. One of the preps came to the counter to hand me the food and gave me two ranches and two good-good sauces. (I had to order fries from the Wienerschnitzel across the street and wanted sauce for those fries) Anyway, the food prepper seemed to pretend like she didn't speak (much) English at first. I asked for more ranch, and she asked how much. I said like 4 more and she gave me this shocked look before trying to tell me no. I know it's just back in the box, but they mess up EVERY single order. I will wait months and not go and the one day I'm in a hurry it really hungry and say eff it and go back they mess up my order again. Easy stuff that shouldn't be messed up too. You'll pay for curly fries and get regular, pay for cheese and not get cheese, all for no onions and get onions. Nothing that's rocket science. They'll charge you for the cheese and curly fries but you won't get them. And the line is always soooo long that it's not even worth going back. read more

About a month and a half ago I went through the drive through and ordered two jr bacon cheeseburgers. When I got home I discovered that there was no bacon in them. Well, I thought it was a fluke. Yesterday I drove in again and ordered two jr bacon cheeseburgers and again no bacon! Ok this is ridiculous. If I'm paying for bacon in my cheeseburgers I want bacon in them. Well, it's a Jack in the Box. I usually hit it up around 4AM after work. Service is fast and never have I stumbled on a wrong order. Employees seem awake and ready to give me my Jack. Pluses with Jack and one of the reasons i choose it is the fact that i can either get breakfast or a hamburger. Or, on some days, i can get both. Those day, I prefer to keep to myself. It's not a pretty site. Sometimes the curly fries are cold sometimes scalding. Sometimes I get ice in my HUGE cup, sometimes I don't. Some inconsistencies. Honestly, this Jack in the Box just continues to disappoint. They messed up the order of my group twice, even going so far as to switch half of our order to someone else's that didn't order it, and give US half of that someones order. The hamburgers were incredibly poorly made, even as far as "slapping them together" goes. They also, another time, messed up the order of the tacos of the girl in front of us. How do you mess up Jack in the Box TACOS? Separate time, I got a Philly Cheese Steak melt, and it was half frozen. Another time, they refused my card when it wouldn't swipe even though I had my ID to prove it was me. The last time my card wouldn't swipe the employee just typed the numbers in, but this employee was too lazy to bother. Also, any sandwich I get from this place is so crappily put together its unappetizing. This Jack in the Box is on my way to work & I normally stop by for a mango smoothie (omg, its a must try!) Theres always a particular cashier that works drive through, I always think shes checking me out ha ha ha or maybe its just me! Anyways, I've always recieved fast service here especially through drive-thru since I hardly ever get out of my car! The location is great- its right off the 94 when you exit Sweet Water Springs. Everyone here is nice & always ask if you want ketchup or what not (i mean they're suppose & they always do).
