I went here the other night as it was the only option open late. There were two employees working, and the guy in line before us ordered several bags of food. The wait time was appropriate as it was around one in the morning. The two employees were incredibly kind despite working such terrible hours, and my boyfriend and I agreed that it was the best Jack in the Box we had ever had. The food was so fresh and so well put together that I saw it incredibly fit to write a review. I think that far too often we expect these workers who are working terrible and long hours to bend to our every need when they are people too. Eat here!! If management sees this, I went around 1am on Thursday. Please give these workers some sort of compensation. read more

Terrible customer service!! Once, around 11 pm, I pulled up to the window after ordering and sat there without anyone acknowledging me for about 15 minutes until I obviously got impatient and started knocking on the drive thru window. Some guy just stuck his head out from the back of the restaurant and shook his head "no" at me, then went back to the back. I could hear the teenage workers laughing and messing around in there. I don't know if they forgot that they took my order or what but I ended up just driving away confused. Another time, I ordered, pulled to the window, the kid opened it and said "Sorry but we're in the middle of a shift change right now." I'm like "Ummm, okay? You can't just make my shake real quick?" I got no answer. Since it's the only Jack in the Box in my area, I went back a few more times and every single time, the lobby was locked and there was a chair in the middle of the drive thru lane, so no one could get through. I can't believe that 1 star is the lowest possible rating. My husband went in tonight (8/24) to grab a quick dinner for us. I just wanted simple egg rolls. This has to be one of the worst Jack-in-the-Box restaurants in Phoenix, if not Arizona. It used to be good, but I've noticed over the last couple of years, it has declined in food quality. Despite working a majority of the night and driving home so early we ( my boyfriend and I) decided to stop and order food here. It was the only option for 4 am. we work in the home health field and just needed food to end the morning at least okay. There was no mention of the transition from the dinner menu to the breakfast menu. After we ordered burgers the two young men informed us that there was only one patty for one burger. There was also nothing from the menu available. Nothing. We ended up with fries, one burger, a drink, and mini pancakes. They didn't put our order on one receipt but two and charged my card twice. We didn't even get a receipt after asking over and over. And the worse part they had blown an air horn out the drive through window at us. I went to the front door demanding my receipt and their names. I was given only one receipt and more attitude. As we drove away they continued to blow the air horn. We stopped at the jack in the box north of here in anthem and they weren't 24 hrs. That was our fault for now checking. We looked at the next closest and this one said 24hrs. We showed up and the drive thru was barricaded and the lobby was closed( the lobby is understandable as they close at 10pm). Too bad most people only give negative reviews (and it's usually based on one visit). I just moved to this neighborhood in April. After 10 /11PM, your only drive thru options are In n Out and JITB. In n Out is really only one specific meal, and you can get tired of it if you have it too often. I was wary of going to JITB based on the past several years of constant disappointment. The employees were always indifferent/rude and completely incompetent. Every single time I went, my order was messed up in some major way. I went less and less, cursing myself each time for trying again just for the same hassle. It made no sense because the employees and management changed fairly regularly. It seemed like JITB purposely scrapes the bottom of the employee barrel. Sad, because JITB at one time was so important to me, I refused to move anywhere that didn't have it (major reason I didn't move to Nebraska). That being said... ONE employee has brought my faith in JITB back. His name is Kendell. He has served me three times now, and every time (around 11PMish), he is polite and courteous, COMPETENT, and efficient. I'm slightly high-maintenance with customization, and my order has yet to be wrong in any way (he even remembers the extra ice... rare!). Props to the cooks too. :) Just tonight, as I was waiting for my food to be ready, I couldn't help but notice his multi-tasking. He even noticed one of the soda machine syrups was empty and swapped it out. I can guarantee you that the other locations would just let it remain "out of order". They all seemed extremely lazy. I introduced myself and asked if he was the manager (honestly, he's WAY more competent than most general managers I've dealt with). He isn't, but I told him he should be. I'm writing this review mainly to let management and JITB know that there is talent in Kendell. I really hope he is acknowledged for his great attitude and hard work, and if I were in charge, I'd get him into management training ASAP. When a company has an employee with potential, it's wise to retain that person, before a random customer that owns a business makes an offer of employment on the spot.
