So lets face it. This location was close to my hotel, there was no line, and the Monster Taco is back. The staff was friendly and the drive through line moved quickly. More importantly the Monster Tacos were perfect and had the right amount of lettuce and hot sauce (this being critical to a proper JITH Taco) Why the fixation on the taco's? allow me to explain (This ode to the greatness of JITB Tacos is shamelessly lifted from my other review) "a legion of fans who swear by the greasy vessels even as they sometimes struggle to understand their appeal" Wall Street Journal article talking about the JITB Tacos Alright its time for a true confession. We all have that one shameful thing we love to eat that we don't talk about very much. In my case its the tacos at JITB. We were a JITB family growing up. I think it was in part because the McDonalds was a town over IMHO and my parents did not want to drive that far for equally mediocre food. . But it was our go to fast food place. We ate frings, we survived the Pita Pocket, heck we looked the other way when they were owned by a dog food company (Purina), we endured the loss and triumphant return of Jack, and despite the changes, despite them actually killing people with an ecoli outbreak, we stayed loyal to the tacos. I have no idea what exactly binds them to me as if it was the ring and I was Gollum. Is it the half slice of American cheese that ratchets up the authenticity factor? Is that meat and bean mixture that is mostly bean and something that if you are lucky, ground up circus animal? Is the overly processed corn tortilla that is fried from whatever huge factory its assembled in and then fried again at the location? Is the lettuce that was shredded sometime in the last moon phase? Is the taco sauce that we used to use to remove the tarnish from pennies? Is it the fact that you can get two of the suckers for 99 cents? Or that it has a bigger version aka The Monster Taco which has two YES TWO half slices of American cheese? lastly is it that after the taco you can tear the wrapper open and eat the fallen lettuce and sauce mixture like some kind of bizarre salad? Bows head in shame.......... YES all of that!!! I love them and I am powerless over them. I know right now many of you are judging, but I'm in good company here with notables like Tom Hanks, Chelsea Handler, Selena Gomez, and Chrissy Teigen. Take that haters!!! read more

Is there a -1 star option? I went on the drive thru to buy tacos, egg rolls and a teriyaki bowl. The worker charged me and gave me the food. I asked if there was sweet and sour sauce and taco sauce in the bag. She closed the window. She might have thought I was going to leave, I saw there was starting to get a line of cars behind me so I knew they would have to open the window. They finally did and gave me the sauce. They have lost mine and my wife's patronage as they seem to be a drive thru only place now. I guess with having to pay their workers the $20 wage now, they can't afford to have their air conditioner fixed in the dining room. Have eaten here often and food was always good and the dining room reasonably clean but not going to waste my time going there anymore if their dining room is constantly closed. I went to Jack in the box on Ave I, in Lancaster. Christina that was there this morning 3/1/23 at 6:30 am, has a rude bedside manner. I tried to order 2 Pita breads just the bread and I wanted them to add "scrambled eggs, ham, and cheddar cheese" . She charges me for 2 chicken pitas with everything out of it then add what I asked for. $17. For that. I asked her why she tells me they do t have a button for just the bread. I told her "yet all your other stores do, so I know it can be done". She say that it can't be done nor can the other stores. I wasn't even rude to her as she was me. I asked her for her name and she give it to me then tells me her managers name is Maria. So after my initial post at how great an experience we had. We decided to come back to Jack in the Box the very next day. So I believe that was 04/09/2024 @ 6am first thing upon entering we noticed how filthy the place looked, you can imagine how surprised we were! The restrooms were blocked by garbage cans and the men's restroom was horrible. There was a woman/ employee who had been standing around and when I inquired about The awesome team the day before she said it wasn't her responsibility because her shift was over ??? He stated two things that were absolutely red flags for a manager to be saying ??? First he said that his shift had ended and it wasn't his responsibility ??? So I made a gesture with my hand across my neck say if I was the district manager he would be fired.? He then made comments in Spanish to the lady worker/ profane. Maria, the store manager, condones many unfair practices in this establishment. One being discrimination against customers & changing the prices on them whenever she feels like it. If you don't look like someone within her race, or someone who looks like they have money, she will make the prices as she sees fit. Then tell you "It was a glitch in my system why you got what you did for that price but now it's this price, it's always changing whenever the boss says." Referring to herself. We are life long Dodgers fans. We went to this location to get the "Dodgers Deal" since the team had 10 strikeouts last night. Due to the heat we went through the drive thru. There were 3 of us in the car. We tried to order e Dodgers meals. We said we were ordering additional food and she said her manager would only allow ONE DODGERS MEAL per car. The service from the manager Maria was horrible. My order was incorrect so I called to just advise her and she made it sound like I wanted free food, when in fact I didn't want any replacement of the food we got. She was so condescending towards me I could not deal with her anymore. The quality of food at this location seems to have declined in recent years. Where they used to be my favorite fastfood restaurant, the meat has become dry and other items have become increasingly greasy to the point of unpleasantness. I normally never write a review or a complaint but tonights experience was mind blowing to me. 1st I completely understand how busy the drive through was since it was 8:46pm (6/3/20) well they handed me my drinks & asked me to park in front. I did but I notice I was missing 1 drink being a family of 7. "Selene" the jack in the box employee walks out & hands me my food. I say to her I'm sorry but I'm missing 1 Dr Pepper can you please get it and bring me an extra holder. Earlier today aroynd 4:30 I stopped by for my lunch and as a delivery driver fast food is usually convenient for a lunch break because it's quick and a good way to beat the heat when you're outside delivering. But i'm not sure what was going on with the staff I was waiting 20 minutes for a 6 piece chicken strips and I didn't receive it so I had to ask for my money back since I didn't have much time before I had to go back to work. Jack in the box has the same food everywhere. Let's face it everyone loves their deliciously disgusting tacos. (BTW I have tasted Burger King's copy cat taco and it has NOTHING on JITB.) I work near this location and go often, my order has always been correct. The food is put together nicely and it seems like most of the staff really cares about doing a good job. For Min wage jobs that is really a feat! The real reason for my review is the staff. They are so friendly and fast. I have never had a rude or bad experience. Food good. I ordered a jumbo jack w/cheese combo and wasn't busy at all. There were only 2 cars in the drive-thru. But when I got to the drive-thru window, they asked if I wanted sauce? I said ranch, then the guy told me to park my car in the front, and they will hand me my food? In my head, I was thinking why? 1, it's not busy, nor did I order a major order.
