Cream corn, tuna tartar and watermelon salad.
Naz K.

I came here for dinner my first night in Sarasota. The service from start to finish was incredible. The valet service was top notch and the staff/hostess were kind enough to give us a quick tour of the restaurant/lounge so that we could decide where to dine. They had an amazing musician playing the night we came. I'd recommend sitting close to them for relaxing dining music. The food was great. We had the tuna tartar, watermelon salad and rock shrimp cream corn. The tuna tartar was 10/10 for presentation and taste. The watermelon salad was good but I wish the watermelon chunks were a bit colder/more refreshing. The shrimp cream corn was also a 10/10. I loved the sweet taste of corn balanced with the slightly umami shrimp. I also had the pineapple non alcohol drink and it was very light and refreshing. Afterwards we walked around and sat by the water. The overall experience was amazing. I will be back for sure!

I didn't eat here so this review is exclusively for the bar area and drinks. Came on a recommendation and was not disappointed in the famous siren cocktail! We ordered one with tequila and one with vodka and they were both excellent, even with the hefty price tag. I will say bar service was a bit slower than anticipated, and you aren't able to just enjoy cocktails at any of the tables. My group was not game for sitting outside (bummer) but that will be my move if I ever return. Order the siren! We split two between our group of four.

Dry Martini with those yummy cheese stuffed olives!

Jack Dusty feels like a whispered secret of the sea, where every moment is wrapped in the gentle breeze of Sarasota Bay. The shrimp cocktail arrives like a jewel--plump, chilled, and kissed by just the right hint of spice, a perfect prelude to what's to come. And those dry martinis? Ice-cold and sharp, garnished with cheese-stuffed olives that add a savory surprise with every sip. They are the kind of drinks that linger in memory long after the glass is empty. The food sings of the Gulf Coast--fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully crafted--each dish a story told in flavor and texture. Service flows as naturally as the tide, warm and attentive, making you feel both at ease and celebrated. The ambiance strikes a rare balance: elegant and refined yet welcoming and accessible. Modern nautical touches blend effortlessly with a relaxed vibe, inviting everyone from casual diners to special occasion guests to feel at home. Whether inside or on the terrace overlooking the bay, Jack Dusty beckons you to slow down, savor, and simply be. Jack Dusty isn't just a meal--it's poetry on a plate and a toast to the coast.

The food and service were good, but not great. The location and view from the terrace, was appealing. Overall enjoyable experience.

Sooo, Jack Dusty was surprisingly good! I'm usually skeptical about hotel restaurant, there's often a high chance of high prices and bland food, but this one delivered. We had dinner, dessert, and breakfast here and enjoyed all of it. Tried a few different things on the menu, no clear favorite, but everything was solid. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area or staying at the hotel!

We stayed at the Ritz for our vacation in sarasota. And ate at the restaurant for lunch one day. They have an exceptional seafood menu. My husband got the fish tacos and very much enjoyed them. I'm vegetarian and the options were limited but the bartender was kind enough to discuss with the chef options to help accommodate my dietary restrictions and they made vegetarian tacos. Which was such a nice gesture. The tacos were filled to the top and the flavors actually worked well. They bar tender was great!

It's in the Ritz. Very casual ! I had the mimosas and the green tomatoes with crab ! So delicious. I would recommend this place for a family.

JD steak sandwich

Great atmosphere, great music. Amazing views. I unfortunately got the JD steak sandwich.l; which seemed to have no seasoning. It seemed to just taste like I was having a steak sandwich with mayo and bread no salt no pepper. Would've been really nice if it had a chimichurri sauce for flavoring at least. Or a little salt. The fries were amazing. But my mom had the burger of which she thought was so delicious. And she's the worst critic than I am lol. Service took a little long, but everyone is friendly.

And here for Sunday brunch. Amazing location with a nice view. Gorgeous interior as well. Service was outstanding, friendly attentive and pleasant. They bring complimentary bread which was very interesting, I believe was made of polenta. It wasn't something I enjoyed, because I don't like sweet bread but I still could appreciate the sophistication of a recipe and how well made it was. I had poke bowl that was great, with fresh ingredients and great flavors. My husband had turkey BLT, was great as well, flavorful and delicious. We also got non alcoholic cocktails and those were amazing. Definitely recommend!

Great drinks and food. The fish tacos were especially good. Both, espresso martini and the Oprah (little stronger in taste) were great - would order again. Tables outside overlooking the water. Service was great

We had excellent drinks ("smoking jacket" recommended if you're a bourbon lover) and the best tuna tartare we have ever had at Jack Dusty's. Food and service is great. Recommend dinner reservations.

Since this is in the Ritz, a higher level of anticipation and expectations are in place. It has been a few years since we dined here but since it was our anniversary, we were looking for something elevated from the typical mediocre experiences in the area. Typically, we have gravitated to the Ritz in Naples and Amelia Island. The Sarasota Ritz just doesn't measure up to her sister properties. This was reinforced by our recent visit. Valet parking is validated when dining here - very nice, thank you. For a Monday late lunch in off season, it was fairly quiet. We wanted a table by the window so that brought us to the back of the restaurant. The table condition was very poor- it is surprising that it was still in the dining room. At least put a tablecloth on it so the beat up finish would be hidden. The house brown bread shows up in its baking tin and the server takes it out. The bread is more like a muffin- probably great for brunch but for other meals, it did not pair well with savory dishes. Although there were plenty of staff walking around and there were not many diners, the food took about 30 minutes to show up , no one checked on us, it was very slow service. It looked like a Manager and another employee were glued to the front desk area- never circulated. Despite Pellegrino water bottle on our table, no one stopped by to pour it. ( that sounds odd - but this is a Ritz and service should anticipate !) My Aperol spritz was delicious and hubby enjoyed his pinot noir. Hubby ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer and it had way too much mayo sauce on it. My "deconstructed" tuna poke was yummy, good portion. Server brought wasabi and soy sauce when I asked for it. Here is where the Ritz service exceeded expectations- I had mentioned anniversary in my Open Table reservation and our chosen dessert was complimentary. The coconut sorbet was incredible! I asked for toasted marshmallows since I had noticed it on another dessert item. 2 were added and that was a amazing pairing. Yessss! I knew that the Ritz quality would surface somewhere!! So- overall it was a positive visit but frankly there is not much competition in Sarasota for fine dining. Perhaps that is why this location seems to be below its sister locations.

We were impressed with her recommendations. She made us feel very welcome, which added to our fantastic meal. We enjoyed all of the appetizers - spanakopita, grilled octopus, spicy fries with feta, and dolmades. All were delicious, however, my favorites were the dolmades and grilled octopus. For dinner, we ordered the beet and feta salad and open face lamb and chicken pita. Absolutely delicious! To end our meal, we shared the carrot cake with pecans and cranberries. The combination was out of this world. Looking forward to dining here again. Thank you for the great meal and service.

There was a good amount of cheese curds and the gravy with the FF's were perfect. Truffle Burrata, also very good the black garlic is strong but it worked nicely with the dish. A large serving. My spouse loves mushrooms. I like them but it was still really good. Cubed yellow fin tuna: Also a very large portion and good flavour but it could have gone without the tomatos (and I love tomato's) And perhaps served with a rice cup or something to scoop it up. Everything is diced up so it makes it kind of messy to eat. We got a burger to split. we didn't order a side but the waiter I guess put them in anyhow. The FF without the poutine are just ok. The burger on the other hand was really good and cooked perfectly. We split everything and took home left overs, as it was a lot of food. We shared the butterscotch gelato and had coffee to go with it. The service is good, The athompshere is pleasant. We will definitely be back to try some of the other items. I'm not a greek fan so I wouldn't touch those but my husband will. :)

Have been wanting to go to this place for years and finally went and unfortunately it was…read moreunderwhelming. I feel like the drinks used to be a lot more creative from what I saw on their socials and from what my friend said who went back in the day it used to be more of a speakeasy elevated cocktail vibe versus a tiki/dive bar vibe. We had to ask for the chips that are supposed to be given complimentary and then we ordered bread and soup which literally took an unnecessary like 30 mins or more to come out as we watched the people on both sides of us get their full meals before us when we got items that just had to be reheated. The tomato soup was very good once it finally came out, the rolls were good but nothing as great as the hype in my opinion for the menu. The drinks were good but honestly the starter shot given at the bar was my favorite which was a hibiscus Pom margarita which I ended up getting fully as my second drink. Service started out hot but then went downhill but that is unfortunately the standard of when gratuity is already included in a check. Then when it came time to pay it got weird when there was a simple mix up when my friend intentionally overpaid even with gratuity involved in her check and the bartender asked her if she wanted change and she said yes but never brought it back. My friend gave 3 - 20s on a $38 check (gratuity) already in but she wanted to tip a few more dollars because she is a very generous person and then when she asked about her change that's when it got weird and the bartender made it seem like she didn't understand why she wanted change instead of just apologizing for the mistake and they went back and forth for a few minutes with the bartender ending up just giving her the extra $20 back. Just left a weird taste in our mouths for the experience when I feel like any bartender would understand what she wanted to do with giving extra larger bills to split especially when she said she wanted change and it was a massive overpayment or if the thought there was a very generous tip like 30% would make sure with guest that's what they want and show appreciation if that were the case. It was just weird how it all was handled. The decor was on point for Christmas and the vibe was very casual but oldie vibes which makes sense for it being in Anna Maria island.

The menu - though not expansive - offered a fish, a steak, a chicken, a pasta, a burger, wagyu meatloaf, salads and several other options, appetizers, a full bar & wine. The four of us were very pleased with the food, service - and live music (guitar/singer was excellent). Overall experience, 4.8 stars out of 5. For that, we'd definitely return. However - the parking experience was a fiasco. Given this was our first visit, my husband circled the hotel/restaurant twice as the clogged pull-in area was full and there was no valet in sight. Also / no signage to direct us. Finally - my husband opted to pull into a reserved lot behind the hotel/restaurant and temporarily parked as I sought someone to direct us.... I walked past the valet "station" - nobody there (perhaps busy with other guests) and I headed to the restaurant to request assistance with parking. My husband followed shortly as he found the valet and asked if ok to leave the car - the male valet handed us a parking placard and said he'd take care of it, no problem. Ten minutes later a young lady valet approached our table - telling us she dug thru my glovebox to find us - asking if we realized she could have us towed. Beyond rude. We attempted to tell her the other valet had checked us in - but she continued down a shaming diatribe at our table - telling us how folks park back there illegally, etc. When we asked to speak to a manager, the young lady valet informed us that her company was a third party and she was not employed by the restaurant so our dissatisfaction with her rude & threatening behavior was nothing the hotel or restaurant manager could do anything about.... Eventually she walked away /her nasty attitude intact - and the male valet squared things so we could enjoy a lovely dinner. When exiting, no valet in sight again, we waited at the pull-in area where two other couples stood next to cars asking us where they were supposed to park or find the valet. Another couple were standing next to their car asking where the valets went, waiting for their keys to depart. Fiasco. Time for a better valet system! So Wink Wink gets a 5 but the valet is a big negative. We live here year round and there are too many options in Sarasota to deal with a valet threatening to tow us at our dining table.
