I bought a Kia Serrano.....the sales dept was great throughout the purchase!....What is horrible is continued poor service we receive on our car. Jack Daniels service is very poor. We have had to take our car in 3 times to fix a simple window. Our time invested about 10 hours. We bought our car in and received a $1000 estimate for tires, brakes, and a battery. When we took our car to FETTE KIA, we were told our car just needed a battery and to come back in 6 months for a brake and tire check. If seems they took advantage of my wife, a woman so much not in the know about cars. The service manger is arrogant. You can buy a car anywhere for the same price. It service over the next years that really matters. Jack Daniels is not the place for service. Go somewhere else....Fette is great! If I could give this dealership zero stars, I would. I have been in three separate times to look at one specific car that they promised was available. Not only was the car not available any time I made an hour trip to the dealership, but their prices are a complete bait and switch tactic. Rather than list the actual price of the car, they posted it on their website for $6,000 less than the actual price. To top it off, the sales woman I was working with was extremely rude and quit while I was there! After being transferred to another sales person they at least had the decency to tell me their online prices were completely inaccurate, as well as their warranty pricing which is done through a shady third party rather than a Kia Manufacturer's warranty. I just got to say they have plenty of options to choose from and I know that because before going there I went to Kia of Englewood which was very limited. I was looking for the Kia Sportage, not the 2021 because I was looking for a cheaper deal with a 2020 one. Unfortunately my deal didn't happen and I also felt a little played... first salesman only offered me 2021 models and even told me (by email) the 2020 models were sold out. Lies, here's why: a second salesman offered me 2 different 2020 models and after spending there 4 hours yesterday, I was told my credit score was not enough and not old enough so they recommended to get a co-signee. My boss did it (and I got to say he has had plenty of cars and decided to go down with me with this deal) and today I spent 2 more hours just to be told they sold the car I was trying to get a deal, got offered a third 2020 model with less features and at the end the manager was waiting for the bank to say yes... I didn't really understand why if I had the best co-signee I could ever get... I never got to see any lease breakdown for the 2020 models... anyway, the 2 stars go to the trade-in value they offered me for my 2013 Hyundai Elantra but for the rest... I feel I wasted my time going there because the few things I was told during the last 2 days they all could be discussed over the phone. Once you leave the lot you're on your own ! I had a problem with my brand new Kia, with 3400 miles and Mario the head of Sales department wouldn't call me back. My sales agent Gareth, I was able to get on the phone, and he said he was with a client and would need to call me back. He never did. It's been weeks. I would avoid this dealer and then especially these two gentleman. My car is still not repaired... but why should they care, it's clearly an annoyance for them to have a problem with a car with 3400 miles. KIA - ROAD SIDE SERVICE.. was very bad. RUN!!!... I bought my Honda pilot from there and was screwed over. Brought the car back two days later because of horrible noise. Gave me the worst treatment and sent me to their shop for inspection. 5 hours of waiting, their mechanic said something about parts of the axels that must be replaced as they are dangerous to drive like this. Mind you I just purchased the car 2 days ago. They said they would need to charge me $350 to replace. I went back to the kia management, and after screaming and yelling back and forth, they said the change will cost $750, but they will give me a discount and only charge me $350. I lost it then as they obviously didn't speak with the mechanic 1 hour ago who advised me of the cost of $350 prior, so they tried to pull a fast one. When I mentioned of what the mechanic said the cost and how they tried to trick me they offered to replace the part. They took the car back and 30 mins later said its done. A month past and the same issue happened again, thats when I realized they didn't fix shit, they only cleaned it to last until their 30 day warranty past. Misleading and dishonest practices. Kept us waiting for more than 6 hours to complete our purchase after we decided on a vehicle. They threw in a tire warranty and gap insurance into the purchase price without informing us before we went in to sign the paperwork. Then the finance person said something like, I thought Wael, the sales guy, told you this already. I am just the finance person. The monthly cost was $70 above what we were quoted. Because Wael Ihmaid, the sales rep was gone by the time we finished after 10pm, I called him on the next business day which was a Monday. When I expressed my displeasure in how they conducted business and said we wanted to return the car, he said he wanted "a happy customer". He said he would throw in two years of maintenance for free; we just had to bring it into their dealership for service. Well guess what? When we bought the car in with a tire issue, they told my us we had no warranty attached to our vin #, nor did we have a maintenance contract. When I called the sales rep, he said he couldn't remember the sandwich he ate yesterday and had no memory of his verbal promise of maintenance over the phone. Thankfully I did have the written copy of tire maintenance (they did not want to give us printed copies of all the documents when we complete the deal, but I insisted on a set), so we were able to push for a tire change. I will tell everyone in my circle who is looking for a car to stay clear of this dealership. read more

ZERO STARS!!! BEWARE! HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP SHORT VERSION: They falsely advertise vehicles as being certified preowned. They gave me paperwork telling me it is preowned just to find out from corporate it is actually not and they lied to me. I paid for this vehicle in full in January, it is over 4 months and they refuse to put the paperwork in to put the title in my name, or rather every time they call they say they will do it and yet it never gets done. Instead they registered the title under their name even though we have the paperwork stating otherwise. FULL STORY: I was interested in buying a CPO Kia. I chose this dealership because it had the vehicle I wanted for the cheapest price, little did I know that saving some money would lead to 5 months of headaches and still continuing.... To begin. I was set a 2015 Kia Optima and as I was ready to say I want to buy it, they decide to notify me of a $2000 prep fee??? Which could not be waived on this vehicle but of course could be waived for the a 2014 Kia Optima that they were insisting I purchase instead. What is this prep fee? Apparently to clean and prep the car before giving it to us....that's right? a $2000 car wash essentially. I stormed out and called later that night to speak with a manager to complain of this indecency. He was "nice" enough to waive this fee for me on the 2015 and went to go pick it up the next day. (I am a student and was recently hit in an accident and unfortunately needed a car on short notice or else I wouldn't have even gone back). Of course, the second day didn't go any better. After spending hours on paperwork with the sales rep. I met with the financial manager who offers me warranty on the vehicle which I decline because this was a CPO and was supposed to have the 100,000 mile 10 year power train warranty. This was clearly advertised online as a "KIA CERTIFIED PREOWNED VEHICLE" which was evidently not the case. The sales rep even told us it went through a 165 point inspection which I found out later was also a lie. They tried to charge me $1500 for it to officially be a certified vehicle, which of course, they were "nice" enough to waive. I didn't trust this dealership and decided to call corporate Kia about the status of my vehicle. I then found out that my vehicle was not certified even though they gave me paperwork stating so. This was of course another headache and I needed to bring my vehicle in to be inspected to officially be a certified preowned, all after I purchased the vehicle and have been driving it for over a week. I thought all the problems were finally over and 4 months have past and I still don't have the title to the vehicle that I purchased in full. I have been reaching out to them every few weeks since the purchase, their response was, wait another few weeks, motor vehicle takes time. After going to motor vehicles, they have no record of this. Then finally they admit that it wasn't done and they are doing it now., sometime in April. Of course it never comes, keep calling and calling, and they finally admit, they did the paperwork in their name and registered the vehicle to them and now have to do a new registration. This dealership is filled with dishonest, untrustworthy people that are not worth your time or money. PLEASE save yourself the headache and go elsewhere! read more

The continuing saga of the 2005 Toyota Tacoma (please read my previous post)...I brought the truck to Toyota to have the frame replaced. They discovered that the universal joint was shot and the water pump was leaking. More repairs totaling $869. So all in all I spent $1898. on repairs for a truck that I only drove approx, 200 miles. If I could give them negative stars I would. The salesmen live up to the stereotype that car salesmen are not to be trusted. They harass you initially when you come in to look at a car, but once I put a deposit down to get the specific car I wanted, they completely disappeared. They originally said they would have the car for me the following Tuesday. It would be nice if they called ahead to confirm if they got the car or not so of course I had to call on Tuesday to check. They seemed completely clueless as if they knew nothing about my car. They finally call back and said they couldn't get it in the color combination I wanted. So the logical thing would be for them to not waste my time and provide me with the cars and color combinations they could readily get, but no, they ask me what other color combinations I would be open to and as I list them, they say they're not sure if they can get it. I finally get fed up and stick with my main option. They give me another tentative date and the waiting game is back on. Of course they do not call to give me any updates so the day before the car was to be delivered I start calling the salesperson. I leave numerous voice mails that day and the next and of course get no response back. I finally reach the guy and he says he got the car. Now I have to change my schedule to accommodate them, shouldn't it be the other way around? I wish I could say this is the end of my ordeal, and that I got my car and drove away happily ever after. Unfortunately that's not the case. As I'm filling out the paperwork, I also fill out a form to get my deposit back. When I put the deposit down, I made sure that the salesperson wrote that the deposit was refundable. They inform me that it should take up to 2 weeks to get the credit. Over a month has gone by and when I call to ask about the credit, I'm told I have to fill out all the paper work again (and I'm still waiting for someone from the Finance Dept to talk to me to explain what happened). Since everything took so long to finalize, I drove out of the lot right after the car was finished being washed. Since they left the floor protectors on, I didn't notice they did not put in the floor mats, which was clearly labeled on the sticker. When I go back to get the floor mats, they try to give me floor mats from the show room car. Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!!?!! I just purchased a new car, why would I accept dirty, used mats that don't even fit?!?!!??!?!! After hassling them, they come with new mats. To top things off, they never bother to call me to tell me that the license plates and registration has come in. Once again, I have to chase them down and ask for it. When I ask why they didn't call, their response is that the logs show they called. What good is calling if you don't bother leaving a voice message?!?!!?!?!?! Horrible customer service. Had Kia Optima for almost 2 years and for the entire time we have had a varying degree of electrical problems.... rearview back up camera, dashboard icons lit and not lit, strobe effect back up lights, brake lights with varying degrees of brightness, new radio, and we still have other problems that they can't seem to find or find causes for. They have had the car almost as long as we have......Buyer Beware You would think that with all these times in the service department someone would say hey you know your vehicle was in a front impact accident....THAT DIDN'T SHOW ON THE ORIGINAL CAR FAX. We tried to trade in this vehicle at a new dealership and were told that they would see if they could get us a little more than the Kelley Blue Book value because the car was so clean, they ran a new CAR FAX and it showed the vehicle had a reported accident. The trade in value decreased $4K from 12K to 8K.. When we brought the new Auto Check report they (KIA dealer) said well they were trying to get you to finance more. So let's recap multiple time in service shop for myriad electrical problems a CAR FAX that wasn't the facts and an unrepentant dealership . I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento 2 weeks ago from Jack Daniels Kia. The Sales rep was very nice and knowledgeable. His name was Yazan Faraj. The Sales process was going fine, but I was interested in purchasing a few accessories. One accessory in particular (Roof cargo attachment). Yazan asked his manager the price, and then returned to me advising that he'd have to get back to me on the price but if I closed the deal on the vehicle at that time he would give me that item at cost. I said ok and purchased the vehicle. When I signed the paperwork a few days later (1/9/13) , I met with the "Business Manager" (Lemuel Brown). Mr Brown documented the accessories I was interested in (including the Roof Cargo attachment at dealer cost), and promised to call me back within 2 days, by Friday 1/11/13 with the prices. 2 weeks later and several voice mails to Mr Brown and he still hasn't had the courtesy to return my calls.. Since Mr Brown failed to return my phone calls, I contacted my sales rep (Yazan Faraj) a few times regarding the price of the Roof rack. He understood that I was still waiting for the price of the item at cost, and promised to speak to Mr Brown. Days later and still no return calls! I once again contacted my Sales rep Yazan, and he promised to speak to his own Manager and call me back. 24 hrs later, no return phone call again, at which time I contacted Yazan (got voice mail) and expressed my displeasure with intent to register a complaint with Kia regarding this issue. The next day the General Sales Manager of the dealership (Bill Gonyea) contacted me and in simple terms said that Mr Brown (a Business manager!) is not authorized to promise items at cost, and I must've "Misunderstood" the agreement. Mr Gonyea said the dealership cannot make any profit offering items at cost, and why would he promise me that. I explained it was promised as part of me agreeing to purchase the vehicle at that time, and that would ensure the sale, that's why.. He continued to defend and side with his Sales rep and his Business manager and insisted I would have to have it in writing!!!!!!! I just purchased a $30k+ vehicle, why would I makeup a story about saving some money on a $368 roof rack????? ALSO: I had a car starter unit installed before I picked up the vehicle, but the next morning when I used it I realized there was no way to open all 4 doors on the remote (manual instructions wasn't working) or lock the car while the car starter was functioning. I had to call Kia 3x in order for a technician who installed the unit to call me back. And eventually it led to me being inconvenienced and return the vehicle to Kia for the technician to check/fix the unit. ***** Bottom line, my Sales experience was fine outside of this incident and fully intended to give a positive review of this dealership. Unfortunately being flat out lied to by the Sales rep, Business manager, AND the General Manager was very disappointing and I plan on contacting Kia headquarters and registering a formal complaint. This dealership has terrible customer service. I would not recommend buying a Car here. I've gone to other local Kia dealerships in the past and they were much better. I bought a car here and one the of key fobs didn't work. I was told by a staff member there they would try to get me a new fob. After being told I would get a call back in a few days I never got a call back. I called at least three more times and left messages and never got a call back. In addition to the salesman told me they would get me a new mat for the trunk and then after buying the car told me he couldn't get me one. Don't believe what the staff here tell you. Two adventures here a few years ago: 1). A family member wanted to lease an Optima. The model, color and options were decided and the price was arranged with a $2000 down payment turned over to them. It was understood that it wouldn't be in right away. A month later they called and said we have your car but it a different color and it costs more. I immediately got the money back and we got a car at another Kia dealer. 2). I had to do business with them for my company I sat in the showroom while they ignored me then put me off. Then they started talking in Spanish to each other. I knew enough of the language to know part of it was about me. I called out to my van to have someone who spoke Spanish come in and sit by me. Upon his sitting down, the conversation ceased and my business was attended to. The manager wants to converse but there is no reason to. I don't remember who the staff members were. I do remember that, at one point during the purchase negotiations, the sales manager tried to change the terms saying that the salesman ( a Asian fellow) did not speak English well and misunderstood things. read more

My experience started out well I purchased a used 2012 Mazda in April 2016. I bought a service plan to lower the interest payment. 2 months later when I go to use the said service plan I find out the plan was canceled by the dealership. After I finally get the plan reinstated what a surprise the parts aren't covered. The people working for this dealership have no respect for anyone. They don't call back for anything. We bought 2 kias in 1 day and it took us 6 1/2hours. I have bought cars before and no other dealership made me wait as much. Then the following week we had to go back because they forgot to have us sign certain papers and if we didnt go back the same day they threatened to take our cars away. We spent another 3 hours at the dealership. The following week we went back to have remote starters installed in both of our cars and the same day they promised us to do an oil change for our sorrento and also take a look at the rim of our brand new Optima which they sold us with a damaged rim. When we returned to pick up our cars later on that evening Areg was no where to be found and the other employees informed me that they were not aware of the oil change or the problem with the rim. Areg never called back to apologize. I was forced to come back to the dealership the next week for the rim which they told me they cant help me I should make an appointment with the service center. I went to the service center where I was informed that it was not a manufactorers issue so I wasnt eligible for a rim change and that it was the jack daniels fairlawn dealerships fault. The people there probably scratched up the rim and tried to spray paint it. I once again returned to the dealership where I was told that in a few weeks or months or more someone will contact me to fix it. I demanded a new rim because I paid for a new car and asked to speak to the manager. Alexis Montero the manager was chewing gum in my face the whole time didnt even ask how he can help me instead said what do you want. We are doing you a favor by fixing your rim its your fault you should have checked your rims before purchasing your car its not my problem and both Areg and Alexis told me they dont want to deal with me and I should leave the dealership. I have never dealt with such rude people. Never go there unless you want to be yelled at. I am so dissapointed. Never shopping from them again. read more

I have just had the worst experience with Jack Daniels Kia. Once you buy the car, there is absolutely no customer service or respect when it comes to servicing your vehicle. I live in Fair Lawn and will go out of my way to go to another dealer. Even when i did write them an e-mail about my service, i got a salesman from the showroom call me, seemed to understand my pain, said he'd pass it along to a manager and i never heard from them. I even called corporate and still have never heard from them. There's a reason they only got 2 stars! If you want respect, go somewhere else. Called the showroom to inquire if a used car advertised was available. When we arrived, Oliver said they had the car and he had Lou, another salesperson take us to the service department so that we could see and test drive the vehicle. Before we left for the test drive, Oliver told us how beautiful the car was and assured us that we would be pleased with it. We arrived at the service department, which was several miles away and drove the car. It was very nice, very clean and appeared to be in good condition. We told Lou that we wanted the car and drove back to the showroom. After completing the paperwork for financing, Lou excused himself and came back and told us that there had been a mistake. He said the car we drove was not the one advertised. It seems that the car we test drove was double the price. To say the least, we were disappointed and felt as though this was a bait and switch move on their part. We left without a vehicle, although they tried to get us to purchase several others that did not meet our criteria. Shame on you Jack Daniels Kia. Shame on you!! read more

Jack Daniels Kia and Paul Breitstein were amazing. My husband was the victim of an accident that totaled his 2014 Kia Sorrento. The vehicle kept him from any serious injury so we knew we wanted to replace it with the same model. However, we did dread the hassle of going into a new vehicle contract. MORE BAD SERVICE. Jack, at your request I called Lenny Corbett. Twice. He never called me back. I left a message on his machine last Tuesday 5/6 with details that I was calling at your request in response to my review on yelp. I left my cell phone number. He didn't call me back. I then called again on Wednesday 5/7 and was told he was in a meeting. I left a message with the receptionist, again stating why I was calling and again leaving my number. Again I didn't receive the courtesy of a return call. It has been 10 days. What was the purpose of putting me through that? Did you want to prove to me that Jack Daniels has bad customer relations? Your workers follow your lead; it all stems from the top. As I said in my original yelp review, I was on the fence about returning to have my car tuned up at your facility on McBride Avenue. You and Lenny have pushed me over the fence. Congratulations. I will take my $1,000 elsewhere! read more

Avoid at all costs!!! I ended up leasing a car from these people and I paid too much. From the start, the salesman was combative with me. His only concern was how deep he could dig into my pockets. Before going there I had spoke with Will on the phone about my leasing needs. He had'nt listened to a word I said. I brought in my trade in, a black 2002 Ford Taurus SEL fair-good shape, the book value on it was $2300 and they only gave me $900 credit for it towards the lease. After finally agreeing on a price at the sales desk, I was led back to finance where I was first told that my monthly lease price would be $20 higher. I was there for 5 hours, they wear you down till you just cant take anymore. I agree to the increase, then the finance sleazbag Lem Brown says oh, it will actually be $40 more per month. They are some of the sleeziest people I've ever met, and thier manager Bill Gonyea runs the show. Save yourself the headaches and really do the research for a good dealership. Not recommended, this dealership has given me nothing but headache after headache since I've done business with them. All they care about is money, they don't return phone calls once the sale is complete and they've gotten their money. Scammed me out of $700 rebate by conveniently forgetting to mention my diploma had to be within in 18 months for the rebate offer. After presenting my diploma which was 6 months shy of 18 months they wouldn't budge. Not to mention, the monthly lease payments are astronomical. I would have never signed the paper work if I knew better. They should be ashamed of the business they did. I'm driving a stock Kia Forte, again with astronomical payments and I put $2,000.00 down and traded my leased Hyundai in. Definitely took advantage of a single girl who didn't know any better. Trying to get out of my lease in November and go with Kia of Denville who have been nothing been sympathetic and helpful. Currently trying to get in touch with Jack Daniels to cancel my warranty and again, no phone calls back. I'm sure it's because they want my money for the warranty, big surprise. Doesn't even deserve a star. They are all sleaze bags who want your money and are far from helpful. read more
