DO NOT COME HERE FOR PRE OWNED CAR PURCHASE ..... here is our experience we had a very disappointing experience with the pre-owned sales department at Jack Daniels Kia. On the first day, my brother and I visited the dealership to inquire about a 2019 Kia listed on their website. The salesperson was friendly, and we sat down to discuss the vehicle. We specifically asked multiple times whether the car had approximately 66,000 miles and whether it was a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle with a 100,000-mile warranty. The salesperson repeatedly confirmed that it was certified and included the 100,000-mile warranty. We looked at the car in person, but we couldn't test drive it because the trunk wouldn't close. The salesperson told us it was just a minor repair that would be fixed by the next day and asked us to come back next day at 6:00 PM. He also said he would call us as soon as the car was ready. The next morning, since we were already in the area and genuinely interested in buying the car, we stopped by the dealership. We were told the car still wasn't ready, so we left. We never received the promised phone call or any update from the salesperson. On the third day, we noticed another similar vehicle listed on the Jack Daniels Kia website. I called the salesperson directly using the number he had given me and told him we were interested in seeing that vehicle. Within a few minutes, he called back and said the car was ready and that we could come in. When we arrived, something didn't feel right. Instead of showing us the original vehicle, the salesperson started telling us this other car was much better. Then, within minutes, the story changed again, and the car we had called about wasn't even available for us to see. We were given excuses about how it wasn't his fault. After spending multiple days visiting the dealership and waiting for updates that never came, it felt like our time and interest in purchasing a pre-owned vehicle simply weren't valued. We wasted time, energy, and multiple trips to the dealership without ever getting the opportunity to properly see or test drive the vehicles we came for. Based on my experience, it seemed like Jack Daniels Kia was much more interested in selling new or leased vehicles than helping customers who were genuinely looking to buy a pre-owned car. Buyer beware. Management is incompetent and customer service is awful. I showed up to pick up a vehicle based on an offer made over the phone. Upon arrival, I noticed the VIN number on the vehicle in the lot didn't match the VIN number online. I made the dealership aware. The dealership was not able to sell us the vehicle for the price quoted as a result and could not account for the vehicle they thought they had. Yes, they were unable to account for a $50k vehicle. They offered to swap vehicles with another dealership and to deliver the vehicle they offered to us to our address. Days later, they rescinded the offer despite a good faith deposit. According to the "boss" - he was on vacation during the mixup. Time to update that title. What a joke. read more

I took my car here for an oil change because it is closer than the dealership that I purchased my car from. I was beyond surprised at the $150ish bill for an oil change of which $50 was labor. I find it very deceptive that the dealership is not up front about costs. In addition to that, they decided to take off the license plate cover from the dealership that I purchased the car from and decided to swap it out for their own. Jack Daniels Kia in Paramus advertised a 2025 Kia Carnival with 4165 miles for $38,630 and their sales associate Andrew Leydon assured me several times before I drove an hour to meet him at the dealership that the car was available. When we got to the dealership to look at the car--and buy it--we had to wait almost an hour for Andrew to return from an errand. Again, when we met him there, he reassured us THREE TIMES that the car was ready and waiting to be inspected, but then he left us sitting at his desk multiple times for about 1/2 hour before he finally returned to tell us that he had good news and bad news. The bad news was that (guess what) the car actually WASN'T available for purchase (someone had failed to make a note of that on the computer screen he kept wanting to show me) , but no worries, they did have another one--2 years older and with over 20,000 miles. It was a CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH, and Andrew claimed that he was just as surprised as we were. I'm a priest, and we were buying the car for our church, and I guess it doesn't matter who the customer is--Jack Daniels Kia chooses to use such underhanded tactics to get a customer in the door, and could care less about how it deceives and inconveniences them. The latest one refers to a Black Friday sales event and an offer for the Kia we bought there. We have in fact started thinking about turning it in for a new one, but as I detailed in correspondence years ago to no avail, I was transformed from being a huge fan of your dealership into not one at all. FWIW, the following are my reviews that are still on Yelp so you can see what I mean: March 2, 2017 I spent eight days and nights running from dealership to dealership, and Jack Daniels offered the best deal and kept all promises. They were MUCH better than two other Kia dealers I had visited. I was very impressed by the friendliness of the staff, including salesman Lou and General Sales Manager John. I ended up buying a new Sorento, and plan to direct my friends and family to them if possible. June 20, 2018 We were huge fans of this dealership [see previous review] until an experience with its service department (while getting a $40 oil change, no less), so we feel obligated to correct the record. If I could give this place ZERO Stars I would! I had to find a VW dealer as I have a VW Jetta Tdi with a check engine light. I knew in advance what the problem was (DPF + EGR issues) and I made an appointment one week in advance. The service center didn't even LOOK at my car until 3 days later. They kept telling me that they were backed up with other vehicles and would get to it the next day. After the 3rd of waiting, I argued that I would not be paying their $190 diagnostic fee because I needed my car back. Magically after I said that, my car was seen by a technician. Of course, typical of most dealerships, they wanted to replace all the things wrong with my 15 year old car and charge me thousands of dollars. I declined, but knew that I would have to eat the $190 diagnostic fee. Though I was not happy paying a fee for nothing, I at least knew I would have a detailed invoice of what repairs I needed to get done to avoid paying another diagnostic fee with another VW Dealer. When I go in to pick up my car, I find that they've charged me an additional "environmental fee" of $13.23 AND they want to charge me a 2.5% credit card processing fee. I complained and fought with the manager - Adrian Bordone - that this was unacceptable and poor customer service. There was no sign anywhere on the premises disclosing a 2.5% processing fee AND I was paying by Debit Card which they were absolutely NOT supposed to charge a fee against as it violates Visa Rules and Regulations (I used to work at a bank and handle merchant processing.) They refused to reimburse me or do anything and simply said "that's what we charge." This service center is a SCAM and I am filing a formal complaint with the New Jersey Consumer Affairs and Visa. Been back several times for the same issue. Everytime they claim it's repaired but clearly the same issue as soon as I drive to the corner. The door lock lights blinked but didn't lock or unlock the car doors. I also could not manually lock the car from the inside. Sales said I should keep the car in my garage. However, the service depart said it could be at least 3 weeks or more before they could check the vehicle to fix the door locks because Kia Motors had something to do with the manufactures computer. Avoid at all costs. Incompetent salespeople, condescending staff, deceptive practices. I should have known something was wrong when I spent an entire Saturday at the dealership. I agreed on a lease deal only to have the salesman come back to raise price about ten minutes later. When I told him I was going to walk miraculously he was able to honor the original deal. They were going to buy out my Honda on the spot and I was going to drive my K5 off the lot that day. Come to find out the vehicle was off site so I would have to wait a few days. The salesman delivered the vehicle to my home and could not get the Kia Connect to work. That should have been another sign. I spent the next two weeks trying to resolve the Connect issue only to be told it had to the dealer to be rebooted. Mind you the vehicle was only two weeks old and I'm already getting it serviced. Then I started getting calls from Honda that I was beyond my lease date and I had to pay off the vehicle or turn it in. Apparently Jack Daniels sold the Honda to another dealer in Edison and that dealer neglected to pay off Honda. This all took another week to resolve. Then I had two more Connect issues that required me to bring the vehicle back to the service center. The final straw just occurred this weekend. The salesman had advised that as part of my lease I received free oil changes for the first year. I made an appointment for Saturday and brought the vehicle in. The service rep handed me a bill for $140. I told him the oil change was covered via my lease agreement. He said their system did not reflect that. I texted my salesman Adam Hindi who responded he made a mistake and advised it was not covered. He chalked it up to being new to Jack Daniels. I have the text as proof! At this point I had already been at the service center for two hours on a Saturday. I called the sales office and it took about five tries before someone answered the phone. I spoke to a sales manager named Karim who admitted their salesman made a mistake yet they refused to honor that mistake. He also mentioned that I didn't give them perfect scores on their customer service survey which also resulted in them not covering the oil change. I wonder why!! Seems shady to me. The right thing to do would have been to call the service center and tell them they would honor oil change but they dug their heels in as a result have now lost my business as well two new drivers in my household. I also asked to speak to the general manager and was advised he was too busy to get in the phone. I was told he would call me before the end of the day. Any guesses what happened? read more

They gave me the run around and tried to tell me that even though the problem with my engine should be covered under warranty, that the dipstick showed too much oil in my oil tank and so it voids the warranty... there is no way that my mechanic put so much oil in that it caused an engine malfunction. I had to call them 10 times to get clear answers and felt like I was being lied to. When I said I would come get my car and have it brought somewhere else to be repaired they said I had to pay a $189 diagnostic fee (which I was never informed of) in order to pick up my car. Terrible, rude, condescending car dealership with unethical business practices. My one regret is that we did not read the reviews before coming in. There are literally dozens of poor reviews about this shady business. STAY AWAY! They advertised a used car for $17,000. When paperwork was drawn up, the price mysteriously shot up to $24,000. They justified the $7,000 increase by saying that the car needed brakes and rotors, charging $2,500 for this "necessary work" and trying to justify some "Jack Daniels Loyalty" fees. I politely advised the salesman, Andrew, who was very pleasant, that we could not afford that price as our budget was $20,000. I then walked a short distance away to discuss the next stop with my wife's stepfather. My wife was then told to wait for the manager, Carlos, who could evidently work with her to lower the price some. However, he immediately started to talk down to her and belittle her knowledge. When my wife told him that she did not feel comfortable doing business with a dealer with such unscrupulous business practices, Carlos began to raise his voice, eventually forcibly pushing the paperwork towards her while sarcastically telling her to have a nice day. Of course, Carlos did not realize that I was there observing all this. He felt relatively safe berating an educated and highly intelligent woman, not realizing that her husband was within earshot. When he then insulted my wife stating "next time, do better research," I confronted him and chastized him for speaking to her in such a condescending manner, and letting him know that I would not tolerate such behavior. While a safe distance away he then told me to "get the f**k out of here." My question to anyone reading this - who would do this? Who would treat potential clients in this way? This individual is a brute, abusing women but shrinking in the presence of men. This is a business with unscrupulous practices - yes, practices - strategies to try to extract as much money as possible from unsuspecting customers. When confronted, however, they become aggressive and downright rude. I would write to Jack Daniels corporate but that would be a waste of time. They have not responded to any of the plethora of poor reviews and complaints written before mine. In the end, we preceeded to the next dealer and bought a newer car (2022 vs 2018) with 20,000 miles less for $3,5000 less. I cannot say much. I made an appointment to drop of my vehicle for service. My plan was to drop of the vehicle and pick it up the next day because I know it needed some additional maintenance. When I arrived I went to the lady at the front desk and gave my name and confirmed my appointment. She then told me an advisor would be with me to print out a work order. I stood around for 20+ minutes to drop off my vehicle. My ride couldn't wait much longer for me to drop of my car. So I told the advisor to cancel my appointment and will bring my car to another KIA service center. I will not be returning to Jack Daniels. Yikes, the reviews! Honestly, we would never have shopped here if we were looking for a new car. Customer service is terrible. The sole reason for even going there was for a particular used car. After attempting and failing to have another dealer trade for it, we settled for Jack Daniels Kia. Of course, the purchase process was super easy because they wanted our money. The second that paperwork was signed, no one wanted to answer the phone or email. It took two months and repeated calls to get the registration. Communication between Kia Sales and Kia Service was non-existent; for example, sales said a part was in, but they had no idea what we were talking about when we called service. Lastly, they charged us for plates but transferred the existing plates. This means Jack Daniels Kia has been holding onto our refund for 4 months. The sales rep gave her cell phone number, but she actively ignores all calls, texts, and emails. I spoke with a manager who said he would look into it and call back the same day, but we never heard back. I'm not sure if they expect customers to eventually just forget about the refund and let them keep it. When I came all the way from NYC to get the key, 1 they didn't give me the address of service, 2nd they didn't tell me it would take an hour to program! My husband left to grab the checkbook and they pull a straight up switch on the price coming back saying they made a mistake an asking for an additional 10k (20% more!!) I have never been put in this position before, how insane is it that you get to the end of the purchase process only to receive a completely different price. When I brought it to service in Jack Daniels Kia (sales rep, Gabriella), they wanted me to pay for what they diagnosed a software update issue because it was not covered by warranty. I called and spoke to the person that sold me the car, Robert V. He said that service was only charging me for the labor and I quote, "that's what happen if you cant do it yourself". We went to the Fair Lawn Kia and they charged $6000 more than the MSRP for an electric car. It says that it is the current market price and that it is not easy to obtain goods elsewhere. When we tried to leave, we ended up saying like we would drop off $3000, but we had to pay 3000 more than the msrp. If I didn't have to rate this I wouldn't cause this dealership is dirt and should be shut down! Two biggest lairs are greg the finance manger and reiner the GM. They are liars and frauds and everyone will know! They have you sign off on documents like paying the last car payment and it's in writing then never pay it and give you story after story then turn around and say they now are not paying it. Are you kidding me?! How can you do that if its a legal document we signed off on. They are in for a surprise with the place and I hope they get no customers coming in buying cars from them. By far the worst dealership experience I've ever had. I've leased/bought a dozen cars in my life and this was the worst. They called me because I use their service dept and told me they want to buy out my lease because they no longer have that model in stock. That part was true. Told me after running all numbers that they'll take it today. I asked for a couple of days so I can find a different car. So after shopping around, taking time off work, hiring a nanny I showed up and they told me those numbers were wrong and I now have to pay them to buy my car out. Blatant lies. We found the car online and wanted to come in immediately for a test drive. Was told everything was good to go by the online sales guy, but then received a call saying that the car needed some work. Whatever. We ask when it will be ready, they say first thing the next day. Next day comes and we get a call saying it's going to take some time and they are unable to provide a date for when the car will be ready. We continued with our search at other dealerships but their deal was the most attractive. After a few weeks, we get a call saying the car is ready. We make arrangements to go in. Once we were at the dealership, our experience was amazing. Wael, our salesperson was a total sweetheart and he worked with us to make everyone comfortable and happy. Awful car buying experience. I foolishly bought a warranty for $3,000 which doesn't seem to cover anything. I felt totally scammed and have had to return repeatedly with car issues in the 18 months I have had my Kia. Each time service has taken an extended period of time, I have consistently waited for calls to be answered, picked up, or returned and have been told mechanic will check out the rest of my car but he never did. I still haven't received a copy of my warranty 18 months later. read more

There's a reason that this dealer gets such low grades...THEY DESERVE THEM... Bought a used car and they told me they changed everything that needed to Make the car safe...they actually did the repairs and they either misdiagnosed...the mechanics are incompetent...or this place just doesn't care. The store itself is a hole in the wall. So anyway, bring to My mechanic...he showed me how parts were put in incorrectly...rusted out oil pan...seized caliper...and on and on. It was a $734 repair... Why didn't I bring it back there? Because they installed almost everything they replaced incorrectly. Or just missed things. This was a car to use only for work. Cost $10k. Plus repairs. To be fair...the repairs were about 500 bucks...the other $$$ were things I had done. I OWN A VETTE...BMW & 2 nissans... WILL NEVER GO TO THIS STORE OR ANY IF THE JACK DANIELS FRANCHISES! This place is a blend of terrible salespeople...worse mechanics...a facility from the 1950's & zero customer service. I don't sue...but if I did...this junkyard would be #1 on my list. !!!STAY AWAY!!! No good deals here and no real mechanics on call! 100% disappointment... ***they called me up to get plates...no screw works for the rear...totally destroyed...
