If you're a Jack Daniel's fan, this is absolutely worth a stop. We actually chose not to do the full distillery tour, even though it looked incredibly well organized and the property itself is beautiful. Even without the tour, we had a fantastic experience. One of the unexpected highlights was the free shuttle that takes you from the parking area through historic Lynchburg to the Welcome Center. Along the way, the driver shares interesting history about the town and the distillery, which was a nice touch. The Welcome Center also offers a Whiskey Trail passport where you can collect stamps and free poker chips from participating Tennessee distilleries. We only had time to visit Jack Daniel's, but it was a really fun keepsake and definitely made us want to come back and explore more. Instead of the tour tasting, we opted for one of the paid tastings. I'm so glad we did because we were able to choose the whiskeys we actually wanted to try instead of a preset tasting lineup. The gentleman leading our tasting was knowledgeable, friendly, and shared plenty of history about both the distillery and each whiskey we sampled. The gift shops are adorable, and the pedestrian bridge makes it easy to walk into downtown Lynchburg, where there are plenty of locally owned shops and Jack Daniel's merchandise to browse. It's a charming little town that's perfect for strolling. I left with a small bottle of Single Barrel that became my evening sip for the rest of our road trip, and it was the perfect souvenir. Even without taking the full tour, this was a wonderful experience. If we find ourselves back in the area, we'd absolutely visit again--and next time we may finally take that tour. 10/10 would recommend.

Honest experience review: Historically one of the best whiskeys, and historically one of the must stops of Tennessee. 5/5 Made it a point to stop in Lynchburg for the JD's Distillery and it was everything I could have expected this experience to be. The slushy was absolutely better in the hot summer day as we walked the property to learn about the history of the origination and the master distillers story. Years of history and purity are what make the whiskey what it is. Enjoyed world wide, and for a good reason. I would have just wished the tour was more centralized around the water tunnel where they show you the demineralization process of the water they use. Probably the coolest spot in Tennessee. Simply a MUST stop and worth the price of the tour. Absolutely loved every bit of it his tour. Worth every ounce of sweat to experience one of my favorite whiskeys! Didn't disappoint, and our tour guide was amazing! Wishing her a happy retirements and a huge thank you for being a school teacher in her county! Thank you for educating us on the process to make the Jack Daniel's Whiskey we all love and appreciate! (Didn't post all the pictures to let you experience this yourself!)

Took a tour and our guide was amazing! He was so knowledgeable and had so many great jokes. He was able to answer all of our questions and even doubled as a photographer! The distillery is so gorgeous and full of history. Definitely get a bottle engraved in the gift shop, such a good keepsake.

Absolutely love this! We went on the "Day at Jack" tour and loved every minute. It is as much a classy tasting as it is a personal tour with a phenomenal docent! The joys were the history lesson as well as the process. Then having lunch at Mary Bobo's and the tour of the Squire House were a joy. If you have the time, this is a must! It is absolutely the best distillery tour I have gone on and one of the top 5 tastings I have participated in the world! The knowledge and interaction of the Docent was amazing. From the moment they greet you at the start of your tour all the way to the end of the day, they are engaged and loving it! Our guide, Justin Grogan, has a personal connection to Mr Jack that he shares along the journey and shared a story that is very captivating. It is a must do if you're in Tennessee!

We spent a couple of hours and did the distillery tour. It was very interesting and you learn a lot about Jack and the whiskey making process. Our tour guide Kathi was awesome! She kept the tour interesting and gave a lot of background information. The tasting was fun and experiencing differences in what makes each bottle unique. I preferred the Blackberry Lemonade Slushy! I definitely recommend stopping for a tour.

Went on the Jack Daniel's Tour about 2 years ago (5/2024). Forgot to leave a review then. It was cool. Learned a lot and got to see how they make Jack Daniels. Fast forward. Went on the tour again 2 years later (7/2026). Brian was our guide this time. Unfortunately, it down poured right when the tour started. As soon as we went through those doors to have our picture taken, it dumped heavy rain!! Lucky for us, we booked through Mint Julep and they gave us ponchos!! People were soaked. It only rained for about 15 mins but it was the worst 15 mins ever. I guess the gift shop sells Jack Daniels ponchos and umbrellas. So if you ever go and looks like rain, bring a poncho or at the very least, get one at the gift shop. They don't let you break away to get one after the tour starts. This time around, there were 2 things different than 2 years ago. They added a room in one of the buildings and built new tasting rooms. Was it worth it to go again? Not really. If you seen it once, you don't need to see it again. Our guide Brian made it entertaining.

We took the tour of the distillery on Monday, 8/10/26. Michael was our guide and did a great job. He explained everything we saw as well as things not visible to us. We were very impressed with how clean the facility is. We didn't have time to do much exploring in town but did get over to the General Store. It's a very nice store with anything Jack Daniel's you may want or need.

If you're visiting Nashville and have the time, Jack Daniel's Distillery is a must see! Keep in mind though it's a 1.5 hour drive from downtown Nashville. For us, the experience was well worth the drive. Our tour guide was excellent! (I wish I remembered his name!) He made the experience fun and engaging and I loved his southern accent! For someone like myself that doesn't drink whiskey, I was intrigued of the hard work and pride behind their brand.

Jack Daniel's Distillery: in Lynchburg, TN. Of all the wine /bourbon etc tours that I've done, this is the best tour ever. Our guide seemed to absolutely enjoy his job and was very informative and funny. Whiskey making is sure complex, land to know the Jack Daniel's barrel is reused by Scotch whiskey etc. Correctly drinking whisky involves first swirling it and smelling it. Then pour it to mouth with head backwards, then bend neck towards, dip tongue in whiskey (which is oils be near tip of tongue now, thanks to gravity) while counting 1001,1002; then straighten so whiskey coats rest of tongue tip to backwards. Feel the burn and smoothness and different flavors. We took the 55 dollar tour which came with a complimentary glass. We also engraved in a bottle; one for us and other for my brother.

I am visiting from out of town and my bestie took me here for a tour and our tour guide Lea made this stop well worth it. Lea was THE man. He was funny, knowledgeable, and presented extremely well. The distillery is a clean and gorgeous establishment. All staff was very friendly, but Lea will remain the man of the hour on this one!

A must do! Such a fun tour! I'm so grateful they were able to accommodate kids, because traveling with mine and wanting to experience this tour could have been tricky otherwise, it made the whole experience so much easier and enjoyable for our family. The tour itself had a great balance of everything: a bit of history, insight into the process of making the alcohol, plenty of humor, and lots of walking to keep things interesting. The guides did a wonderful job of keeping it engaging from start to finish, and it all wrapped up with a tasting at the end. What I especially appreciated was learning about the process behind making whiskey. It gave me a whole new respect for the craft, it's such a detailed and thoughtful process. Funny enough, I don't normally drink whiskey, but after this experience, I just might start because of how much care goes into making it! Overall, such a unique and memorable experience, I'd definitely recommend it!

Ask the Community - The Jack Daniel Distillery

Has anyone taken multiple different tours? If so do they cover a lot of the same areas with different tastings at the end or do they mostly cover different areas of the distillery?

The tours are essentially the same. The only difference is the dry, standard, or premium tastings at the end. When I say essentially the same the differences are based on your docent.

How long is this tour?could a trip to the distillery be considered an all day activity?

We got there at 10 with no reservation. We got in to the 11 o'clock tour. We did the dry tour because my 16 year old was with us. Ate lunch in Lynchburg at 12:30pm. Checked out the general store. We had a bottle engraved which takes an hour. If your…

    Does the tour cost?

    Yes

Why doesn't it mention tour is not handicapped accessible ? In a wheelchair is tour not possible?

Based on my experience I believe they will accommodate. .

Can we go on a tour with kids of course only adults will be tasting anything? Thank you all so much for answering!

Under 21 are only allowed on the dry county tour which does not included and tastings.

Is the tour pet friendly? Driving thru the area and want to stop but have dogs

No, you go in and out of warehouse type buildings. Lots of stairs and confined areas with groups of about 20 people. Not fair to the dogs or the other group members.

What's the name of the lemonade you can get at the end of the tour in the tasting room?

    Minute Maid, lol.

Does the "Angel Share" Tour give you a sampling of the 5 basic samples plus the 3 premium samples or just the 3 premium samples?

Angel share is the premiums. Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye & Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select and Gold 27. If you want to do this tour book way in advance it sells out fast.

Where do you find the group photo that they take in beginning of the tour?

At the end of the tour.

Is required to make a reservation for the tour?

No, you can walk up and if there is availability, you can jump in on any tour. If you're in a large group, I would call ahead.

The staff were all polite and welcoming. Our tour guide (forgot his name, but I have a picture of him!) was awesome! He was funny, personable, and very knowledgeable. He shared that he's been at NGD for the past 3 years and you could tell that he enjoys his job. The tour was great. The only downside was that half of the property was off-limits or non-operational at the moment. The time slot of our tour unfortunately occurred closer to closing time so we weren't able to check out their bar, Humble Baron. We did get to visit the speakeasy on the property and the area where they pour and bottle for the welcome center. It would've been fun to check out the stables to see all of the pretty horsies. Overall, it was a good experience. To visit a place filled with rich history, black history. Praying for the Nearest success for more opportunities to continue sharing the Green legacy.

I am a great lover of Rum... so much that I've built a Tiki Bar in my home and I have easily over 50 rums. So finding out there was a Rum Distillery just a short drive away, I had to go! It was an absolutely wonderful experience. My wife had a Rum Old Fashioned followed by a Rum Manhattan (first time either of us had tried a Manhattan with Rum.... AMAZING), while I had a tasting flight followed by a Last Word Cocktail. Everything was FANTASTIC. I HIGHLY recommend doing a tasting flight of all of their offerings. First, the vodka (Sagrav 80) was just wonderful, but still had the wonderful taste of sugar from the molasses it was made from. Each of the Rums were so flavorful, my favorites were the 86 and the 106, but the 89 and 108 were also amazing. Finally, the Gin (Guajana 80) was very surprising! Again, the wonderful sweetness from the Molasses comes out, and just wonderfully compliments the juniper, citrus peel, and other infusions that make up the Gin. If the drinks and the liquor are not wonderful enough for you (they were for me ), the hospitality of Luis and his wife will make you feel at home. From the moment we walked in they made us feel like family and took the time to explain the unique details of each of their offerings to make sure we found exactly what we wanted. I loved the experience so much I took one bottle of everything they offered home with me, and I look forward to coming back often to get more... as I'm sure to quickly run out at home!
