they made my truck buying experience the absolutely worst decision, of my life. paying over $110'000, for a $87'000 truck, I thought that I would be taken care of & the finance girl @ Sherwood park gmc wasn't just saying "yes" to everything I asked for trying to make a quick sale. I paid $7'500(!) for extended coverage, not realizing that it was going to be for however many oil changes I could fit into 50'000KM's, getting into arguments with every auto-specialist at sherwood-park gmc & jack carter, just trying to get a coolant flush (which never got done), that I was told would not be a problem. only way to get ahold of the sale (specialist) Nico from Sherwood was to go to the shop & than being told that the lady who did my contract, no longer worked there. like it was non-applicable, anymore. hey, he filled up my tank. must have forgot that I paid $4'500 for a gravity fed slip-tank as well. oh wait, that didn't work either. they couldn't even put on a $150 extended fender, so my tires didn't run, every turn. how beautiful a GMC could be, but every associate except the gentleman(s) guiding me into the shop or driving shuttle, have ruined the name with no accountibility or service. one auto "service" technician actually said that she wished she could have charged me more, after I was charged continuously for stuff in my contract, that they magically changed on their side, & I did not get a full refund for. I would never trust these scam artist', they have ruined the name of GMC. read more

Don't honor warranty!! Paid for 10 year warranty and everytime we bring it in, its s cost, for something we were told was under our warranty!! Nothing but lies so they can charge you and claim its not warranty! If you buy from here make sure you get a lawyer to draw up papers to protect you with the lies they tell you to get you to buy!! Unfortunately, we purchased our Honda Pioneer from Jack Carter South when there was a lot of demand and very little supply. So the price was very high. The downside was that they did not have any supply - everything had been sold,. So you had to make a down payment, pay the full list price then wait for up to a year to get something that might or might not be what you wanted. The machine that we got was a good, reliable UTV and has worked well. The downside was the very high cost for the UTV and for the few extras we requested. There were no deals. When the unit was delivered, it was a mess. It was very dirty, and had very likely been used as a demonstrator model for a couple of weeks before we got it. We had to do the cleaning. Some of the upholstery was in rough enough shape that it had to be replaced after delivery. There was no checkout on it from the dealership, we learned from the manual. Thanks goodness, this UTV shares a lot of parts with the Honda cars so it is easy to have it maintained by a local mechanic and it has a very reliable drive train. I have not had to go back to Jack Carter for any maintenance. Would I use Jack Carter again, I'm not sure. When we bought the UTV, those were unusual times and they could get away with this behaviour. But, after our experiences, I would consider looking at one of their competitors. read more

Would give this dealership a 0 rating if I could. Also I will never recommend anyone here or ever buy anything from Jack Carter again. They used bullying tactics to try to rip off a senior (my dad) - TWICE! They agreed on the verbal offer over the phone and made an appt to come in - sales guy couldn't even bother to see my dad but sent someone else in his place (intentional sales tactic). Dad wanted $350 monthly payments and they did it...by stretching out his term from 60 to 72 months and not telling him that he didn't qualify for 0% interest promo (due to age bank would only approve nearly 6%!). Currently they have a Bonus tag event where all cars get $1500 off and they weren't going to give that to him (but were going to make him sign off on it). In our discussions, First guy told me family has nothing to do with this and I was making it personal when it's strictly business. 2nd guy turned to me and my hubby and asked who we were (which is none of his business if my dad wanted us there). He also tried telling my dad the details he heard the sales guy relay on the phone to my dad (doesn't matter what my dad had heard himself). He also tried telling us a verbal agreement was legal and binding. Then they couldn't prove they had anything signed ... and oh what were they ever going to do with a car they just installed 3M on and put the Weather mats in it already?!? (Their own risk basing it off a verbal phone call) And finally AFTER signing everything, they handed keys over and left us to our own. I saw an ad on Kijiji for a vehicle with 0% interest. I went through the process and qualified for financing. I put a $5000.00 deposit. I requested undercoating done. Things were going well. Staff was helpful and friendly which included Chris, the salesman. A day after qualifying for financing after mapping out my finances, I reluctantly decided not to go through with the purchase for personal reasons. I explained this to Chris and apologized for the inconvenience. I stated I would pay for the undercoating if they had already applied it. Chris came across as deeply offended and was not satisfied with my reasoning. He offered life advice to me insisting that I slow down until I know what I want. Chris was very professional and friendly when he was about to get a sale under his belt but quickly turned into a poor reflection of Jack Carter Chevrolet when a potential future buyer decided to reneg on a purchase. A 60k dollar purchase that I, not Chris, would be responsible for shouldering. As someone who has made many vehicle purchases, I value customer service. Will I attend Jack Carter Chev for future purchases? Not a chance. Here's some advice for you Chris: One sale that didn't work out isn't the end of the world and could turn into a future sale if dealt with gracefully and with humility and understanding. Jack Carter's is an amazing dealership, have been dealing with them for 10+ years. Currently have 2 Cadillacs and a Corvette from them. Niece recently bought a Terrain, my mother has an SRX, sister has an Acadia and brother has a Sierra. I put this review up as they have a low rating on Yelp, I used my I0S app to check traffic to get to Carter's to drop sticks off for their amazing donation to the broncos. Jack Carter is by far the worst dealership I have dealt with. Brad Peltier the so called "corvette specialist" is a joke. Neglected to do his job by not informing me of the non export disclosure. I came back to them to buy a zo6. Gave them a depsit. Told them I will be selling my stingray. Not once did he mention I couldn't sell it till After I sold it to buy zo6. After selling the car Brad emails me to tell me he forgot to get me to sign the non export. When I told him I had sold the car he started threatening me that I will be blacklisted should I not sign the waiver. The General manger Corey then took Brad side instead of fixing the issue. Brought my car in to have the crow hopping issue looked at, they admitted the car does crow hop and said it was a normal condition and then charged me $157 for the service when the car was still on warranty. I had no way of knowing GM considers this issue normal and they could have told me that when I made the appointment but they didn't and then charged me for it, they are crooks in my opinion and you'd be best to stay clear of them. Worst place ever! Horrible service from Amy in the service department, wouldn't return my calls; took a week to perform simple service on my car without updating me as to what was going on and didn't even complete all items asked to repair. I had to chase her down and call about a dozen times to see if my vehicle was ready, once I was FINALLY advised (from someone else) it was ready, I had to wait about 45 mins upon arrival for paperwork to be completed. COULD OF BEEN A COWBOY!!!   I have had a diesel truck for as long as I can remember (if my daughter was here she would say "with your memory dad that doesn't sound very long :) ")... but I can assure you it is decades. I live out of my truck and I set it up exactly as I need it for my purposes...I put lots of km a year. I tell my wife if I was a cowboy my truck would be my horse, GET ALONG LITTLE DOGGIE !!! I spend a lot of time in my truck and after a while I grow familiar to every aspect and feature and I rely on everything being exactly where it should be in my many storage compartments (my daughter says "Dad, its just a truck" ... and then she rolls her eyes...she doesn't understand) SO LONG OLD FRIEND!!! As I have mentioned I drive a lot of miles and so in a very few years my horse (truck) gets to that sad day when it is time to put it out to pasture. (approximately 180,000 km) OLD DOG....NEW TRUCK!!! I always delay when it comes time to change up my ride and it was no different this time. I called around for months checking selection and prices on a new chevy or gmc only. (believe me ...I know my trucks and I have gone with Fords and Dodges before and they betrayed me and left me out in the cold...litterally.) Many months passed and the 180 000 passed on my obdometer then the 190 000 and still no replacement. YEE HAW... I was reminded once again by a billboard on the highway that caught my eye and I thought i would try a different dealership. I explained my situation to the salesman (Brian) and I could tell by his voice he understood my situation. I explained exactly what I required from my new steed and would not only require this potential replacement to be similar to my old ride, with some added new features and options, but I also expected to acquire it at a great price. I left my request with Brian and within the hour he called back and he said he believes he has located the one which I had been in search of. I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW I immediately went to the dealership and he was right. This was the one I had been looking for, I talked to Brian and Brad and bought it on the spot and got a great deal. GRASSHOPPER... (Kung Fu TV reference for the old people like me)... These guys know their stuff and are very fast and efficient. I have dealt with many dealerships over the years and I can say these guys know how to cut to the chase and give you what you are asking for with no sales pitches or balony (obviously i have no idea how to spell balony). I normally hate sales people (especially the ones that shadow you) but not this time...very professional. TRUE LOVE... I now have my new truck (horse) and it is awesome. Some days I stand in front of the window just to look at it :). My wife regularly asks me if I still love her more than my truck. It's an okay location where you can get what you want provided that you have an appointment and are willing to wait and pay. No quick lane oil change or other niceties. Last time I was there, their oil change techs suggested that I had an oil pan leak and the oil pan needs replacement. Not a single mechanic or oil tech saw anything wrong with the oil pan subsequently, neither did I lose any oil. This one thing damaged trust in all GM dealerships that are usually very knowledgeable and diagnose simple things correctly from the first time and I stopped going there. read more

After every visit they tell me it is fixed or there is nothing wrong.The GM IntelliLink has serious problems. I can no longer pair my phone and the stops working all the time. I was disgusted by the service I received from Jack Carter. I brought my 2013 car in for some recall parts and to see why my car won't accelerate up a hill. I usually go to the dealership where I purchased the car but with the acceleration issue I was reluctant to drive to Edmonton and my Edmonton dealership recommended I didn't. I brought the car in for warranty work and dropped it off at service, when I had called in the week previous I double checked that a loaner car would be available for me as I have I lot of meetings and other running around that needs to be done during the week and they wouldn't take my car in on a weekend. No loaner car was available for me and the shuttle service was some guy who took me home in his personal vehicle. That was strange and weird but I was sick that day and wanted to go home. I was promised that a loaner would be dropped off at my house for my use but none ever arrived. When I called into the dealership I was met with an attitude of that to bad we can't help you, take the bus. When I refused to let them off the hook they agreed to pay for a taxi to take me to work in the morning. The taxi arrived 30 minutes late and made me 45 minutes late to work. I talked to different managers throughout the day to find out what was happening and how I would be getting home that day, not a single one apologized for this mistake on their end. Lucky they told me my own car would be ready later in the day. The only thing they fixed on my car was the recall part and didn't even notice the transmission leak. When I tried to talk to the service manger about everything had happened he instantly started talking down to me because I am young woman and basically told me I should I have my car and I should leave. I have never been anywhere that had treated me so disrespectfully. I would never recommend Jack Carter to anyone I knew and I will be taking my car into my regular dealership to have the warranty work done that I actually needed done and I will have them check all the work I had done at Jack Carter because I don't believe it was done skillfully. read more

Jack Carter Chevrolet recently relocated their facility to the SE, just off Deerfoot and Barlow. I took my 2006 Cadillac in for some warranty work and had an absolutely terrible experience. I had something wrong with the A/V jacks in the glove box. The video/audio was only working on one side of the car. I took it in and they told me they needed to replace the stereo. I was hesitant since I felt the A/V jacks in the glovebox would be the more sensible place to start but the service advisor insisted it was a stereo problem in the head unit. I mentioned that I was a bit apprehensive about having my entire dash torn apart, but he assured me the "Factory-trained Cadillac technician" knew what he was doing. Well, they had the car for 4 days until they contacted me and told me they needed to order the wiring harnass. As I was driving it home, I noticed five nicks around the dash where it appeared the technician attempted to take the various panels off. I was quite upset. The service advisor was quite sympathetic and assured me it would be taken care of. I waited two weeks for this part to arrive, and after I called them they booked me in. I dropped the car off around 5:00 pm and left the key with one of the other advisors. Two days passed without any call. Finally, I picked up the phone and called them. The advisor didn't even know they had my car! It had been sitting there for 3 days and no one knew. He explained that the guy who took my key (FOB) just left it on some desk. He was very apologetic and they did get everything fixed the next Monday. When I went to pick it up, I was told that the damage to the dash was not caused by them. It was, they know it was, I know it was, but they straight-out denied it. They have offered to replace the one panel with the most damage, but only because it has, what they referred to as, a bad finish. No apologies for the damage, just straight out denial. When they pulled the car up, there was a sharp interior-panel tool on my leather seat. The advisor apologized and took the tool from me. This is the kind of service they provided me. It should be interesting to see if they keep their word on the replacement panel, but I am not holding my breath. Very unfortunate and I will NOT be taking my car there for servicing ever again. read more

We purchased a new vehicle 3 years ago from Jack Carter. Last fall, rust started coming through on rear panel. Took it in (took 3 appointments for them to actually look at it - always brought it in when had something else to do - ie. oil change, windshield replacement, but they always ignored looking at the rust). When they finally did, stated it was from shoddy repair done to the vehicle therefore it wasn't covered by warranty. We purchased the vehicle brand new from them and have not had any repair work done to the vehicle. We took it in to Southgate Allmakes Bodyshop and they indicated it was in fact due to a "spot repair" which is common when vehicles get damaged in freight. Jack Carter states that because they have no record of the repairs (dealerships will not accept a vehicle until the repairs have been completed), it is not their problem and too bad so sad. The cost to fix the vehicle was approx. $750 but Jack Carter, nor GM Canada are willing to even address it. Would never recommend this dealership, nor will we ever do business there again! Inspect any new vehicle extremely carefully as it may be repaired already and they won't stand behind their vehicles! read more
