I'm not usually a person to use a dealership for service, both because I always felt it was more expensive than the neighbourhood service station and dealerships have never been that conveniently located for me. 5 yrs ago my husband convinced me to try Honda West for tire installation and storage, so I did. They've also done a good job on warranty work for me. I have to say their prices are reasonable and they are so easy to work with-- not pushy at all. Well today, they went above and beyond with customer service. Without going into details, they fixed a big screw-up that I caused. Totally not expected and turned what could have been a really crappy day into a good one. I'm forever grateful and will continue to be a loyal customer! read more

We bought a used car from them last week. We were paying by bank draft. Had a delivery time set up. Showed up at the time and the vehicle was sitting outside dirty. They had not even started to get it ready for delivery. Our salesperson did not show up for the delivery, we never met anyone other than the finance person. The fill in salesperson never really talked to us. We sat in the showroom for over an hour waiting for our vehicle be cleaned and filled up with gas. Once it was finished, I am assuming a manager said sorry but we filled up your gas tank. I stated it was the least they could do. Haven't heard anything from the salesperson or the dealership since. Would never buy or service my vehicle if that is how a sale goes. read more

I recently took my 2014 Honda Ridgeline into the Honda West dealership for an airbag recall. They gave me a "complimentary inspection" and found almost $800 dollars worth of fixing. Saying my rear break pads needed to be replaced along with my transmission fluid and steering fluid. After asking some "car people" what this meant, they said to take it to my regular mechanic to get a second look (You really do not need to get a fluid flush often, especially if your vehicle is not old). Thank god I did, because Tim down 17th ave at Speedy Apollo (who I have been going to for as long as I have been driving a car) checked it out and said it was completely fine, the fluid was clean, and my rear break pads have another 6-8 months of use before they need to be replaced (total opposite of what Honda said). The rear break pads and front break pads were double the percentage of what Honda claimed they were at. This dealership tries to take advantage of people who don't know much about cars (me). Make sure you get a second opinion before spending money on their suggestions. I would highly recommend Tim, as he is one of the most honest mechanics I have ever dealt with. He also will beat any given quote. read more

I am actively having an absolutely horrendous experience here. I took my 2001 Honda Civic LX in to get a recall done on the Passenger Airbag on this past Wednesday (25/05/2022). While there they said the car was squealing and required a $95 belt tightening. Stating that the belts were absolutely fine and just needed tightening. I said sure, no problem cause I had known about that issue prior and figured it would be an easy fix. Everything was fine up until this point and everyone was lovely. However when everything was done. I drove away after the fix (27/05/2022) and following that the car was left unused until the proceeding Tuesday (31/06/2022) on my way back to work. When driving on Tuesday the battery light came on. So I go to check the battery and had no issues. When I check the freshly tightened belts I see that the Alternator belt has no tension and the Alternator itself is now just swinging in the wind. I proceed to call them the same day I notice this to have it brought in stating the current issue I am facing. I had to pay another $58 out of pocket to get my car towed up there which is negligible. They say that they cant check the car until the following day (today). I say that's totally fine. I get a call today at 12:11 pm leaving a voicemail saying they had an update. I proceed to call back at 12:20 pm. The lovely lady at the counter tells me that miraculously and completely unrelated, that after they have tightened the alternator and serpentine belts that one of the alternators screws was loose and had broken off and fell inside the alternator and while the shop was looking into the issue they had also broken the other screw. Now requiring a complete alternator replacement and a replacement to the bracket holding the alternator. Stating that it's going to be exactly $879.52 to fix. As well, since they're already working around the belts and replacing the alternator. I should go ahead and get my belts completely replaced as well trying to say that it will be at reduced labour costs cause they're in the area. Requesting another $215 for that. (after not but a week ago they had stated that my belts were completely fine). I inquired about how they had not known / failed to inform me on such a simple thing as tightening a bolt while being down there working on the alternator belt (Possibly saving me all this money). I was told that it's hard to see and they didn't look for it during their complementary inspection. They have taken absolutely no responsibility for their actions, nor do I think they plan on it either. This is absolutely ridiculous, they are completely screwing around with me. Basically its either I give them another $1,000 dollars to fix my 20 year old car, or have it towed and scrapped. Please don't go here unless you're already willing to give them a bunch of money. Cause they'll try to get it out of you one way or another. I am now actively getting my vehicle towed away from there and getting a more trustworthy mechanic to look at it and let me know exactly what's going on with it. read more

Went to buy a 2022 CRV from Honda West after finding one on the website. List price was $33526. I booked an appointment to test the car and was helped out by a friendly salesman named Andre who went over the vehicle very thoroughly with me before letting my son and I take it for a drive. After a great drive I went to sit with the intention to buy the car and was presented with an invoice for $43000!!! WTF, how to you add $10000 in fees and taxes to a $34000 car... what a scam, do yourself a favour and don't give these con artist any of your time, and especially your money. read more

Do not buy a car at Honda West. Their service department is total crap. Don't waste your time with them.

I had the misfortune of purchasing a used car from Honda West. I began the conversation for a fiat 500 with Gerald Tsang, but Murray Brock forced his way into taking over. He was not informed about the car at all, offered no added value to the sales process, and was outright rude. Despite demonstrating considerable market research about this vehicle, he would not negotiate on the high price at all. When I discussed the matter with the sales manager, he offered me a $200 credit towards service. This does not help me, as I live too far away. I recommend any consumer to take their money elsewhere. #HondaWestSucks. read more

I've had extensive experience with both the sales and service of this dealership -- I purchase my first Honda from them in 1998. The sales people are friendly and helpful on the new vehicle side and go out of their way to help but the service centre is horrible. My first problems were with my old civic having ignition problems. I had to take it in four times before they found the problem - a loose connection. Even worse was my 2011 pilot which had the window crack after driving just 16 km - from one side to another. The wouldn't fix it claiming it was caused by a microscopic rock chip on the edge of the windshield. Then after 100 KM a rust spot appeared in the centre of the tailgate, just below the licence plate. They told me it was from a rock chip and wouldn't do anything about it. My other two Hondas had rock chips and no rust. The final straw was when the pilot DVD player melted a DVD that was playing. They said they couldn't reproduce it and wouldn't fix it. Funny thing -- another dealership warranty repaired the DVD and the rust spot. Sad thing for Honda west is that I just bought a 2013 odyssey touring and it wasn't from them. read more

Like most of reviewers here, I have mixed feelings about Honda west. I bought my first Honda in 2012 from here. It was not so much about the dealership, but I simply fell in love with the 08 accord coupe when I saw it. From the very beginning I felt like I was just another custom, and nothing they did really made me feel like they appreciate my investment (let's face it there are dealerships hungry with sales reps trying to meet their quota, and go to far extent to make the sale) I love my car and the experience so far. The service here is alright. Some days the person on the other end of the desk is awesome, like Justin...somedays it feels like I'm talking to a cyborg). Most of the times they have forgotten to give me my free car wash ticket. Not to be picky but if you are paying close to $300 every 4-5 months, that's just a nice gesture. No in facility car wash, so you have to take it to the local car wash and give them the coupon for a BASIC car wash. No shuttle service on the weekend, so if your friend is not picking you up....be prepended to sit down for a while. For now I guess I'll have to make it work. I'll look into other Honda dealership. Will I buy another Honda from Honda west? Prolly not. read more

I have had a very negative experience with HondaWest service department. I took it in for B service, and was told I had one tire that was not the same as the other 3. It was a smaller size and different brand. Further, the problem was made worse when I stopped in a Honda dealership in the SE (Heritage Honda) and the technicians there tightened and torqued the tire - I am in shock that the Honda technician did not notice the tire was different than the others. The quote Honda West provided was $988 to get two new tires, a full new rim, new battery and the service check-up. I investigated what went wrong and discovered my mom had my other tire. I called and asked if it would be possible to switch the tires for me so I could have access to my car over the long weekend. Nikki Kjinserdahl told me that the technicians were "too busy" to switch the tires for me and that they would not "service two vehicles" that day. She was also trying to tell me that new tires may be required etc etc. I wasn't asking for service on two cars, I was simply asking to switch over the correct tire so I could drive safely. I proceeded to take my car down the street to Canadian Tire and the Canadian Tire technicians helped us right away. They said it was a simple problem with a simple solution of switching the tires. I did NOT need a new tire whatsoever, and all I had to do was purchase new lug nuts. The total cost was $35. I will never come to Honda West again, as Nikki told me I would not be safe to drive, but refused to help me. I was put in a position where I was forced to go somewhere else, down the road, to receive assistance from technicians. Go to Canadian Tire instead to deal with your tire needs. I won't be coming to Honda West for service again. read more

I bought my first brand-new Honda here in 1996, and they won my business again when I traded that car in for a new Honda in 2011 (properly maintained, Honda vehicles tend to last a long time in my experience). The service department is efficient and friendly, and the free shuttle is a huge convenience when you have to drop off your vehicle and get on with your day. read more

These guys cruise Kijiji ads looking for used cars to make offers on so they can resell them on their lot. They called me and said they were interested in my car I told them not to waste my time if they were going to lowball me. They said they wouldn't and that they would offer a competitive price they then contacted me back found the cheapest car in Canada they could find that had similar kms but is in very poor condition, and then offered me 30% less than what my car was for sale for. So, if they think 30% off is fair on a used car, then I guess they'd think offering 30% off on new cars would also be fair. These guys are snakes and the ultimate bottom feeders of used car salesmen, cruising Kijiji ads to resell cars on their lot. Buyer beware. read more

Product Quality: 4/5 Convenience: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 2/5 (This location) I've bought many a Honda in my time and over the last few years, I've visited Honda West a number of times with the intention to buy. I won't be returning. I took in our new (to us) 2011 Pilot for an airbag recall. I decided to do a Transmission fluid change-over while it was there for which I was quoted $250. When I went to pick up the vehicle they let me know that the Transmission flush cost $350. Then they made dire warnings regarding the Rack & Pinion steering which should be replaced IMMEDIATELY or we would be stranded somewhere. That it was a serious leak and not just "sweating" around the seals. They also pushed towards a timing belt replacement and Compliance bushings replacement. After taking the vehicle to my honest and reliable mechanic the same day, I was told none of the work Honda West suggested should be done at all. These people should be ashamed of their shady practices. read more

Unless you are buying a new car with a new warranty...stay away. I bought a used truck, Dealt with the used car guy who was a friend of a friend..BIG mistake. Got sold a truck that although their fitness assessment says was A-OK...was not. I called and one manager passed me to another, and basically I am told to bring it in to see if in fact there even is an issue. I felt brushed off. They should have said " Please come in and we will make this good!!" I have been a loyal client for over 15 yrs...and now I was sold a truck, that firstly needed a whole new clutch..(this is in the first year)...and the whole suspension is shot, which has caused my tires to be f'ed up..they wore incorrectly!! MANAGER said..OH WHO told you this information??? While I was having an oil change, I was told a shock was leaking and that many parts underneath had yellow numbers, indicating stuff was replaced perhaps after an accident. All four shocks are toast, and who knows what else?? The report said nothing , but Honda mechanics would have see that too.. I came to Honda West as a single woman, trusting them. My mistake. I know taking it in now, they will give me a DEAL..haha...I will take care of this issue on my own time and pay someone I trust ...They have lost a customer. You might think I should go in and fight this, but I don't have the ability to deal with this kind of stress on my own...3 mangers I spoke to, each passed me to the next. I had my car for sale on the private market. Honda West wanted it, pursued me to sell it, appraised it and offered me $5000 less than I originally had it listed for. Prior to making an offer, they told me they would not offer until it was inspected. I completed a thorough inspection. It passed with NO ISSUES. The car was in immaculate condition. After providing the inspection report, which assured them they would not have to do anything mechanically to certify the car, they STILL lowballed me by $5000. Needless to say, I was livid. They wasted my time and tried to take advantage of me because they thought I was in a vulnerable position. As if that wasn't bad enough, guess what price they were planning to list my car for once they had it? $1000 more than I was asking! These guys function entirely on greed and corruption. This dealership is the scum of the earth. I will NEVER buy from them and anyone I know who is looking for a car will be informed of my experience. Steer clear. read more

Never ever EVER going to step foot into HONDA West ever again. I regret buying my car from here. I'm so upset with the service I've been given. The manager is very disrespectful and shouldn't even be working as a manager and here is why. Been late for work 2 times because they promise that if you bring your car in at 7:30 am for an oil change it will be done at 9 am. Every single time I go in they end up finishing around 9:45 and I'm always late for work. Employees are so rude when you talk to them about it. I asked for the managers phone number and told him the issue and he told me" IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY HERE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I couldn't believe he told a customer that. So I ended up going to T&T HONDA. They are so nice and even offered to wash my car. They told me I'll never have to go through the horrible experience I went through with Honda West. I highly recommend going to T&T HONDA. You won't regret it. read more

I bought a 2012 Honda last year that came with all-season tires and winter tires. Because the all-seasons were at 50% of wear, I was told I'd get my next set at cost. When winter came, I switched out the all-seasons to winter tires and got Honda West to discard the all-seasons. Service called me recently to set up an appointment to switch out my winter tires for the all-seasons they had in storage (they should not have had all seasons in storage), and I told the service person about the deal I was supposed to get on tires. She told me what full-price tires would cost. I told her I wouldn't be making a decision based on that price, but to call me back with the price I would pay, based on the deal the salesperson had given me. No call. I'm going to buy my tires from Costco. This isn't the first time I've been unimpressed with Honda West. read more

I just want to share my experienced in Honda West. Last week January 16, 2018 went to Honda West for change oil and Maintenance Minder B Service and I asked them to fix my TPMS and they said, yes! I waited for two hours and half and I was told everything will cause me $ 311.41. and then, later they informed me that TPMS was not fixed. Then, I told them if you did not fix it them you need to return my money that is intended for TPMS ($ 39.35) but they said no, because that money has been paid for diagnosis. First and foremost have you ask me, to diagnose my vehicle? No! Here is the worst one, after two days the light start flashing that indicates there is only 15% left on my oil. It means they did not reset the light for change oil. People you need to be careful with this Honda West they don't really care of your vehicle what they care is to get money from your pocket. I am so disappointed with this dealership. Even though, ZI bought my vehicle here and I have insurance of my engine for 3000 Kl. I am thinking to look for another Honda service. I had a good experience buying my car. Gabe in finance was amazing. Service department was very helpful when I got a flat and needed a tire replaced. They got me in as soon as they could and were very patient. The only problem I have with honda is their loan department. They messed up my bank information when they entered it in the system and blamed it on me when I was behind a payment because of their stupidity. Then they called me and I had no clue what was going on until he tore me a new one. They treated me very unprofessionally. I've never been talked to with so much disrespect. Terrible. Don't waste your time looking at their selection of used cars. Their 1 price, 1 promise guarantee or whatever is BS. Dealers always have room to budge. I think it says a lot about a dealership when they won't entertain any price negotiations. I would never buy a car from a dealer that won't budge even a little bit on prices. This is why buying from individual owners is the way to go, everyone leaves happy. At Honda West, they leave happy. read more

We had excellent service in Ontario with two different Honda dealers. We are now on our 8th Honda. We went in to Calgary Honda a few times (since they were closest to our new place) and after being frustrated with both their service department, and leasing/sales team we will no longer go there - it was so bad in contrast to our earlier dealer relationships. We went to Honda West - and they were excellent - back up to the standard of service and customer relations that we were used to from Honda - Thank you Honda West for giving us a place to go to! read more

Today my wife brought her Honda Civic in for her 9am appointment to change summer tires to winter. The four winter tires are provided by us and are on rims. At 12:30 she called me still waiting for Honda West to complete the tire swap. No other service was booked. Waiting 3.5 hours for a simple tire change is absurd. Why bother scheduling a 9am appointment when it does't mean anything? I will never return to Honda West. I'd give them a zero rating but unfortunately YELP doesn't go that low. read more

I went to Honda west to buy a car for my 75 yr old mother...we bought a Honda Fit Navi and paid cash....we were told the car was a few days away...but it turned out it was over a month away . So we waited patiently.... she had given old car to her daughter on the basis that her new car was "a few days away". She was without a car for a month When we picked up her new navi I was sitting with her in front of Gabe and I specifically said "we just want the car...and no extended warranty" Gabe went on and on and asked my mother if having a free tire if she damaged one was a good idea...of course in that context she said "yes". we went to the interact machine to close the deal and my mother put in her PIN and got the receipt...and we drove home in the new Navi......but I looked at my mothers interact receipt and she was dinged a extra 2500$ for extended warranty after we specifically said we didnt want it. Apparently Gabe's trick is to ask an indirect question ie how do you feel about having a free tire if you need one......and he signed her up for the warranty we didnt want. Currently the Navi is in for a new starter at 10,000k and they are charging her full price and arent even mentioning the extended warranty...... DONT GO TO HONDA WEST read more

Danyal Ahmed - Seemed nice at first. Then pushy. Lack of communication and no customer service skills at all. Made us wait a ridiculous amount of time too while he tried to juggle numerous customers at once. They claim to have the "best prices". He does not care about finding the right car for you, he only cares about money and makes it very clear. Their prices have no room for negotiation. Very unprofessional, began to argue and even began to YELL inside the dealership while we spoke to him calmly. The vehicle prices are the exact amount they want and most of them are laughable. You can find a better deal elsewhere. DON'T even bother wasting your time here getting treated so poorly. Horrible customer service. All he wanted to do was brag about his white MDX parked outside the dealership. Once he knew we didn't want to pay their ridiculous rates he started yelling at us, screamed at us while we walked out. He was not considerate at all about our needs. Very argumentative. No business skills at all. I've been to numerous other dealerships who treat you with respect. THIS ONE isn't one of them. Very disrespectful. No customer service skills. Most vehicles have damages on them that they can't guarantee they will repair or won't repair it. Even though I have an Acura I try and deal with Honda dealerships as in general it's cheaper for the exact same service. I have dealt with the parts department a handful of times, and although they have been friendly and helpful they still suffer from Honda's Canada Inflation (basically you pay 30% to 1000% more for exactly the same parts as you would in the US). That being said, unless I'm ordering a lot of parts, where it's not worth the wait and shipping cost from the US, they are my go to dealership. However this past week I was forced to go to their service department to program my new key's immobilizer, expecting to pay around $70 for the service. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of service person (manager?), but to my surprise he was nice enough to waive the half-hour labour fee that is usually associated with this service. As for the service itself, it was done in around 15-20 minutes and he made sure my key worked before sending me off. I assume his motivation was to entice me to come back for other service needs and he succeeded. I will update this post next time I have service done in the actual shop part of Honda West. read more

I purchased a 2007 Suzuki XL7 and was sold the Extended warranty and was told the warranty was either 4yrs or 60,0000 which ever came first. If the warranty for parts/service wasn't used I would be refunded $2416.00 within 30 days of the 4yrs or 60,000 which every came first. The kilometers came first and now I find out from the Warranty company it is 60,000 PLUS 4 years. My car is over the kilometers and I don't get my money until another 2 years even though my vehicle is covered under warranty. This is unacceptable and something will be done about it as Honda West just found out themselves that it is both 4yrs and 60,000. Why keep the consumers money if they can't access warranty work doesn't make sense to me I have the documentation to prove they provided me with the incorrect information and will not refund me my money. What a horrible experience at Honda West. We went in on boxing day December 26, 2014 to look at a Odyssey and put down a deposit for the vehicle. The whole sales processed was rushed and when we went home to look at our budget we figured that buying a new vehicle at this time would not be feasible and I called the dealership the next morning (Saturday) to inform them that we won't be able to go forward with the vehicle purchase and if they could refund the deposit to my credit card. The sales person we dealt with Syed asked for the reason and I told him that it would be difficult budget wise and he kept pushing alternative vehicles to buy and mentioned on the phone that there was no manager in on Saturday to authorize the refund, which for a Saturday during boxing week is strange not to have a manager on site. I then went in person to the dealership and asked the front receptionist if there was a sales manager in and she said yes and I also saw one working where sales staff were talking with to get pricing for customers. So I'm not sure which manager needs to authorize the refund, is it the branch manager, sales manager or finance manager? He also mentioned that on Saturday that their accounting system was down so there is no way of processing the refund and mention that he will need to talk to the higher ups to present my case and they will decide if a refund will be provided. I found it strange that their accounting system was able to take and process deposits on that day as I overheard customers taking to a finance manager regarding putting a deposit on a vehicle but not able to process refunds. I then asked him if the refund I put down was non refundable and he said that he is not saying if it is or isn't and that you needed to speak to the higher ups and will let me know on Monday or Tuesday if a refund is possible. It was excuse after excuse with him and during my conversation with him he made me feel like my reason for not having room in my budget to go ahead with the purchase was a stupid reason and kept asking me what change and why? He mentioned that the sale of the Odyssey was conditional upon me getting a reasonable insurance rate which was discussed during the sale and written on the sales form. I was not able to get a quote as the insurance company I deal with was closed on boxing day and on Saturdays. During the whole process of negotiation and financing terms, never once was the term and condition of the cancellation policy ever disclosed and now I feel like I'm being given the run around in regards to getting my deposit back. read more
