Fact is though, I trust Tony's Auto Service based on my experience on my first visit and the positive reviews I've read about it. Tony's were great again, calling me to run through what was needed for the service and a few repairs. They even saved me some money by avoiding some unnecessary items and discussing some options with me that were labour intensive.

The Honda dealership service dept. told me my front brakes had to be totally replaced because the rotors couldn't be machined. They also informed me I had a serious leaking issue on my front crankshaft seal. Peter was able to inspect my vehicle and properly assess the situation. My front brakes were able to be machined and he did them, which saved me money than replacing the whole system. The crankshaft only had a moisture issue (apparently a common thing among Honda's). The crankshaft seal didn't have to be replaced after all. 5-Stars!!

They just fix what we need or ask for. Never had an issue with their workmanship or customer service. They have done vehicle inspections on our used vehicles. Rotated tires. Replaced brakes and rotors. Electrical issues and broken A/C. We have had every issue and they have fixed it for a decent price! We buy a lot of used vehicles which is why we are always here. I've had both my vehicles in to these guys for both routine maintenance and break-fix stuff, and they deliver every single time. They have done everything from steering rack replacement and brake jobs to installing an RV trailer package on my old pickup truck. They seem to be equally good with mechanical and electrical issues. They also stand behind their work. If something doesn't come out right the first time, they fix it without quibbling about extra charges. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better general mechanic shop in Calgary. It is so rare to find this kind of service in the automotive sector! Kudos to the guys at Auto Experts!

If you own a Subaru, this is the place to take your car for servicing. I'm sick and tired of…read moredealing with the dealerships in town. Because the subaru has such a small market segment, there are only 2 subaru dealerships in Calgary, unlike if you own a Toyota or a Honda. So there's not a lot of choice for the subie owner. And I don't like both subaru dealerships for various reasons as I've dealt with both. All-Makes is owned and run by a guy who has previously worked many years as a tech at one of the subaru dealerships in town. So I'm comforted to know that my car is in good hands and this guy knows what he's doing. His rates are very reasonable. For a oil change and minor servicing (6000km), it costs $40 something which is pretty much the going market rate (unlike one of the dealerships who changes over $75 for the same servicing). I just simply got fed up paying almost double to one of the dealerships for similar or worse service. In fact, at All-Makes, they provide excellent service and are able to perform the servicing in a prompt manner. Because they are a small shop, they can better manage the schedules and are able to give you a better idea when they are able to finish the work. This is in contrast to the dealership where I paid double and they could never really "guarantee" that they could get the work done for me on time. For example, at All-Makes, I take the car in for the standard oil change and minor 6000-km servicing. I call in ahead of time and make and appointment. They know when I'm coming and they are able to bring my car in and work on it right away when I arrive. And I wait for my car while it's getting done for maybe 45mins or so. When I used to take my car to the dealership, I would drop it off at 7 AM in the morning (their techs start at 8AM), they'd give me a shuttle ride to work and I ask to pick up my car at noon. Every time, they told me, they wouldn't be able to guarantee that they could complete an oil change by noon. What kind of service is that?!?! It does not take 4 hours to complete an oil-change!!! After I discovered All-Makes, there's not a chance I'd ever take my subie back to the dealership for servicing.

I also had them do the brakes on my pick up in February, now when I when to change to my summer tires, the studs had been over torqued and under torqued. They said it was the fault of the OEM nuts (which I know is a problem), but yesterday I had them replace all the nuts (which I paid for), today I was going to which to my summer tires, again some of the nuts are over torqued and others are under torqued. I broke the tools I have used for years to change tires trying to loosen the nuts. NOT GOOD!!
