They are located in the former Winkelmann's building, which has since been repurposed and remodeled. They have a very nice, new decor with cool colors. It's a dairy restaurant, so it's good for people who are vegetarians. They have pizza mostly with some other dairy based foods. I got soft serve ice cream. Although it is relatively new, the place was dirty when we got there. It was hard finding a clean table. But then we noticed that the staff started cleaning the tables. Apparently they had a big rush right before we got there. It just feels a little too hectic for my taste. But it's also good to bring large groups of kids there because they have a back room for large parties.

Very old-school place. Definitely not kosher like most Lakewood restaurants - this is right on the border and has dairy, meat, and very much non-kosher meats at that. Well, if that doesn't bother you, you will find that Red Moon offers great food. I actually got a sandwich instead of pizza and it came out with a perfect balance of cheese, great sauce, excellent crispy bread, piping hot. It's definitely made to order, because we had a few minutes to sit and, not really go over the project so much, but just chat with the owner. Very friendly guy. I don't know if I would believe this is "NY style" pizza, but it sure offers the goods for the sammies! If work brings me back, I may risk a slice to see if there's a fifth star hanging around.

The bad: the crust on the plain underneath and on the outer rim was extremely dry. So it gives you decent crunch but not much on flavor. It's clear that they are not rubbing the dough with olive oil. Pretty sure they aren't mixng any oil in the dough either. The cheese is definitely not 100% real whole milk mozzarella cheese. There's some in the mix for sure, but there's some of the cheap stuff in there as well. The sauce was bland too. No oregano flavor. No basil flavor. Very little garlic flavor. All of these shortcomings apply to the Sicilian slice with one other noticeable problem. The crust on the Sicilian absolutely has NONE of that Sicilian pizza taste. They are likely making the crust using the same dough as they use for their neopolitan pies. The result is--- it makes it taste like their regular pizza just thicker. That's a fail. The chicken vodka sandwich was oozing with delight. Their homemade vodka sauce was creamy and complimented the chicken cutlet and fresh cheese. And yes, they use pizza bread for the sandwich! I was purely in carb heaven! Their wings are insanely fresh, and they serve theirs grilled, which is a welcomed bonus. Makes for a healthy dinner option. We got the mikes hot honey wings and they had just the right amount of juice and kick! The Italian eggrolls were a treat. I never see these at pizzerias, so this was definitely a unique offering.
