NJ pizza for a long term new yorker is always hard , But Giusesppes is by far the best quality we have in our area imho. Last week we ordered a Sicilian pizza from this place. New to the neighborhood several neighbors recommended Giuseppes as the go to place for a good meal. The pizza was inedible barely cooked and tasted like a loaf of bread with raw mozzarella on it. I can only give it 2 stars. With pizza, for me, I like a well cooked pie. Meaning, the bottom isn't floppy. I like it when you try and fold it in half it snaps and a well cooked crust. With Giuseppe's, the bottom was browned at least unlike other places where it's all white ( that's when I ask them to put the pie back in for a few minutes) but no snap. The crust didn't have any browning at all which makes it too chewy. The sauce they use is too salty. The size of the pie seems to have gotten smaller and cost more just like Villa's in Holmdel plaza. It was Monday. 1/21/2019. Called up Guiseppes to order food at 9:30pm. The website states they are open until 10pm! Hell, even if I did not want to drive the half mile for the food; they should have honored the order so I could pick it up. That being said. It gets epic. I called up at 9:25PM EST and before I could even relay my order to them: I was greeted with a rude and basic employee that answered the phone with "Hey. This is Guiseppes. We are closed. No orders or deliveries." - to which I responded respectfully, "it's not even 9:30; and you're open until 10pm at least". To which she says "hold on. Let me get the manager". This was a waste of time. So I hung up. I called up a competitor that works up the block who answered my call with enthusiasm and not only delivered the food on time but also thanked me for choosing them. Guiseppes needs to fire the "customer service representative" they currently have hired because she single-handedly lost this company income for the evening because of her rude and unprofessional response when she answered the phone. Would I use Guiseppes's again? Not until they fire the rude employee and ensure that future orders will be adhered to; also. A $20 credit wouldn't hurt. Moral of this Yelp review is: make sure your employees don't treat your loyal customers like shit. Because pizza places are a "dime a dozen". I ordered from Tony's right after this phone call and they were able to provide quick, hot and excellent service. I ordered delivery from Doordash. Just got a large plain pie. From the time my order was processed, within 1 minute, the driver ahad picked it up 13 minutes later. We had suspicion that they just gave us a pie that was already made. When the pizza got here all of the cheese had slid to one side. Probably because of the driver, but it was small for a large pie. But I called at about 9 pm and the woman who answered, answered, "Hi, Giuseppe's, we're closed." Never in my life have I ever been greeted with "we're closed" an hour before they close. Actually, if the business were really closed, why would anyone be answering the phones? It kind of sounds like someone just didn't want to work late. We are a Giuseppe's family. We will always order pizza or main entrees from them! Their pizza always tastes super awesome and I'm pretty much craving it right now. The only downside is that there is this one guy who takes our orders on the phone and he isn't very friendly. I've also found that their pizza is a twinge too salty for me occasionally. Desperately wanted a pizza after seeing a show at the PNC Arts Center. Most places had already closed but we called because there was no times listed to see if we could still order. A very nice man took my order and when I arrived at the pizza place they were doing the final cleaning for the night. Terrible customer service and very RUDE behavior at this place. The entire staff need to get trained on the basic principles of customer service and how to respond to customers requests with respect and a humble attitude. Expressing daily frustrations and taking it out on customers who are asking for simple requests in my experience is not the way to run a business and wont help it flourish for sure. The experience I faced, will take up too much of my valuable time to write, so I wanted to keep it short and simple for everyone.
