They also guarantee their installation for life. What we've learned- often the hard way- is that everything depends upon the installation, attention to detail, or the prep. I hired this company to install a sliding glass door. The quote process and installation were perfect -- they were clean, professional, and arrived when they said they would. Great start! However, the door was missing a piece from the manufacturer. The installers noticed it right away and created a service ticket. At the end of the week, I followed up to make sure my ticket was logged and provided all the necessary information. Since then, I've been the one constantly following up. I called every two weeks to make sure I wasn't forgotten. Each time, they insisted the part had been ordered -- until a few weeks later, when I was told the wrong part had been ordered. They said they would rush the correct one, but I never received any updates unless I called first. Now, three months later, I spoke with another representative who admitted that nothing had ever been ordered. So, they lied to me for months. That rep promised to come out the following Friday, but no one showed up, no call, nothing. At this point, my project is still unfinished, and the lack of communication and honesty is unacceptable. It's been three months, and they still can't manage a simple phone call. I was looking to replace the windows in the living room and study in my 1931 Craftsman house. I have had other windows replaced by two other companies. By far this experience with J R Door & Window delivered excellence in every way. The torrential rain we had last year seeped through the windows and caused sme water damage. The neighbors were doing some remodeling and the noise was constant. I needed new windows but I did not want to part with the Craftsman architectural design. Out of the four companies that came, JR consultant Steve Roberts was the first to understand and address my request. He designed windows that replicated the panel design of Craftsman windows. Additionally, Steve was readily accessible, calls were returned promptly and all emails were answered within a workday. He embodied the consummate professional. The windows were of the best quality. The estimate was less than half of my other three estimates. Every step of the process; consultation, production, and installation were exceptionally executed. Needed new rollers on our sliding patio door. The repair person, Vincent, texted to confirm the appointment and showed up on time. He replaced the rollers and repaired the track, saving us the expense of replacing it. Vincent did a great job, was neat and tidy, and cleaned up before he left. Pros- they showed up on time for the estimate. Cons- never received my estimate, never returned multiple calls for my estimate. They tried to talk us into retrofit windows instead of new construction. I think they are afraid of the work and want easy jobs but I wouldn't know because they don't return phone calls or emails. The house which I purchased 6 years ago had all Milgard doors and windows installed in it in 2007. Of course, not being the original owner, their lifetime warranty did not apply. One of my patio doors developed a broken lock assembly, so I went to a different Milgard door company asking if I could purchase a lock assembly replacement. They called the factory, and within 2 minutes, the sales person told me that door was obsolete (2007?) and my only option was to purchase a new patio door, which she quoted me $3900 to replace. She said that was my only option. I drove to JR Door and Window and spoke to Leanna Lee. She assured me that part was still available. Due to Covid-19, she explained that shipping would probably be delayed but she sent me emails 2-3 times a week, keeping me informed on the shipping. Today, Leanna called me to tell me the lock assembly was in. The part was a perfect match, and within 15 minutes, the patio door lock had been fixed and the door works perfectly. I commend Leanna for going the extra mile, making a customer feel wanted and welcome, and unlike their next closest competition, did not try to gouge me for $3900. If or when I need any door or window replacements, I can assure everyone that this place is as honest as they come, and you have a customer for life! read more

About two years ago we had J R Door & Window replace two floor to ceiling windows and a sliding glass door. Shortly thereafter, the exterior glass glass pane on one of the windows was accidentally broken. The company replaced the broken window quickly and efficiently under warranty. All but three of our windows had been retrofitted with Milgard Windows, so we decided in March to finish replacing the remaining 40-year-old windows in our home. Even during the zombie apocalypse (Covid-19 lockdown), J R Window and Door came through with flying colors. From initial measurement to installation took about three weeks. Installing three large windows took the crew less than three hours. They were professional, cleaned up the debris and left the house as clean as they found it. We had one small issue with a lock on one of the new windows; they sent someone to repair the window within 90 minutes of contacting them. We're very pleased with their work and happy with the Milgard price, look, warranty and performance. I've personally installed vinyl replacement windows on another home and it is far easier to hire a professional to handle everything. This is our second time using J R Door & Window. The cost was reasonable and we can comfortably recommend their work, the windows and doors they sell and happily report they stand behind their product. read more

They fixed all the imperfections, stood by their workmanship, and replaced the appropriate doors and windows. The manufacturer was behind on orders but that was of no fault to this business. JR Door & Window was recommended to me by a friend, and I saw numerous glowing reviews online. My windows were original to my home (built in 1981). They looked awful (peeling off anti-solar film), were not energy efficient and were almost impossible to operate. I'd been wanting to replace for years, but was daunted by the process and by my inexperience. I visited JR Windows in May, and was immediately put at ease by the vibe of the shop, plus Amy's patient and warm manner. I knew I wanted a clean, modern look with black exteriors and interiors. Amy guided me toward the Trinsic series. Jeff, the owner, came out to my home and took meticulous measurements. He then prepared three separate detailed estimates (three different price points for Milgard white, bronze and black capstock windows). I encountered a HUGE roadblock: my HOA tried to block me (since black wasn't an officially approved color). I went back and forth with them for nearly 5 months. Jeff and Amy were supportive, patient and helpful throughout this ordeal. I finally "won" my case and scheduled the job for late October. Will, Mike and Rob were amazing! They were prompt, polite and very nice, and--most importantly--highly skilled professionals. They finished the job in less than 3 days. I couldn't be more thrilled (I'm a writer/artist and quite picky). JR is not the least expensive option (and the black capstock option I chose was not cheap), but I would choose them again in a heartbeat.
