As a house flipper I am always looking for a great roofing company. I had two homes, 1 in Covina and 1 in azusa. We are not pleased with the workmanship on the install of our metal roof. There is open seam in the roof. We contacted the foreman Guy, who actually does not do roofing work but hires a crew to do the work, admitted it was not pretty. JN Davis Roofing's solution is more caulk. If you think the City inspector who charges $1000 would catch this, think again. The inspector did not even get on a ladder to look. Have a look at this ugly sight. They even left their blood on the roof. I would not recommend this company for a metal roof install. Poor workmanship. read more

I had a very bizarre experience with this company. We made an appointment for an on-site review of our very large house to replace our roof. I walked the property with their representative and explained our desire for a standing seam metal roof which was their expertise. I understood this was going to be a very expensive job. We were also painting our house, which he advised to do after the roof. Fine. No problem. We'll wait. I was promised a bid shortly thereafter. Which I did not receive. After a week, I left a message to check on the quote. Nothing. I tried the next week. Nothing. And again the following week. Crickets. No return call and we were ready to roll. It's okay to tell me they don't have the bandwidth to do the job or whatever. But, not to get back to me with a quote or return call, that is unacceptable and unprofessional. read more

My wife and I are very satisfied with replacement of our old Monier tile roof. We worked with Guy, who provided us with information on various shingle brands, a reference of homes they re-shingled in our area, an estimation of cost and an anticipated date for starting/ finishing the job. Guy was very courteous, informative and straight forward. We also worked with Eric who was the office administrator who ordered all products, arranged for delivery and handled scheduling. Eric was very friendly and always kept us appraised of our work schedules and deliveries. The demolition crew, restoration crew and final installation crew all worked efficiently, skillfully and were polite at all times. At the end of their shift they would clean up the mess and debris. The job was completed in two weeks and we could not be happier with the results. I would recommend J.N. Davis Roofing without reservations. When Guy and I went through our final walk around, I noticed some damage to the rain gutter for which Guy immediately took responsibility and said he would replace it. Within three days, I had a gutter repairman replace that section. Again, what more can be said about a company that takes care of its customers. read more

I don't know why there are so few reviews for this company but I think they are an amazing company. I am one of those pain in the ass customers I ask a lot of questions etc etc. Especially when you are purchasing something as big as a roof I got over a dozen quotes and JNDavis was very reasonable plus they offered the warranty I wanted. The staff was great to work with Guy came out originally and I spoke quite often with Robyn on the phone. They even provided me with a list of houses in my neighborhood I could go check out... Contracted with them to relay the tiles of my roof. Did not perform all the agreed-upon tasks. The manager was very rude to me too. They also took almost double the time to finish the job compared to what they promised. They also wouldn't come back for minor repairs even if I ask to pay outta pocket. In 2003 we paid this company to replace the pitched section of our roof. In 2008 they estimated the flat section of our roof (over room additions)) but we ran out of funds before the work could be scheduled. As a requirement of a recent refinance of our home we needed a letter stating our roof was fine. Called a different roofer for a letter and to price any repairs to the flat roof; they wanted $250 for the letter and then inflated their repair cost by $1,875 when we sat down to sign their contract. We cut our losses with them at $250 and went elsewhere. We are so glad we called J.N. Davis Roofing to come back and give us a quote which was less than what they estimated 7 years ago, $1,675 less than the other company which didn't include the tear down of a patio cover, and it rained the day after they cleaned and primed but before they could put the sealant on the roof. With only the primer on my flat roof i checked every inch and there were no leaks! That was Saturday; on Monday they completed the rest of the job and it looks great! Way to go! read more

JN Davis has done such an amazing job on my roof - throughout the entire process. The staff could not have been nicer - Robin, Eric, Guy were my main contacts. The crew was professional, kind, thorough... and each day, any messes were completely cleaned. The efficiency with which they worked was really something else. I even had neighbors astounded as to how quickly my old roof was torn off, the new plywood base installed and the new shingles mounted. I also had solar water panels that they removed and a rooftop A/C unit that they managed. I'm a stickler for details. It was a pleasure working with this roofing company. I called the company to set up an appointment for getting an estimate. I spoke to Eric, the office manager, who explained to me in details of various options that I had when choosing roofing materials. He also answered my questions in details. This was all on our first conversation before coming out to look at my roof. Guy, the project manager, came out and looked at my roof. Very nice guy and courteous. He explained to me the different roofing materials available. I learned a lot from the meeting. He promptly produced an estimate the next day. The project started in early April and was finished within a week. The demo was unpleasant, but any demo is unpleasant in any construction project. However, the installation took place without any problems. Ramon was the main guy who did the installation. I chose the stone-coated steel roof, so it required a special crew. Ramon has been doing this kind of roofs for 20 years, so he knew what he was doing. All in all, everything was done right. I had a little issue with the gutter being damaged during demolition, but they came out within a week to get that fixed. That's customer service. I highly recommend them. read more

In Dec 11 during the Pasadena windstorms, in incurred extensive damage to a multi family residential property, which requires complete tear off and reroof of 4 structures. I scheduled a meeting at the property which is right around the corner from JN Davis' office They sent handyman to take measurements, who it turns out was not even an employee. 4 weeks later, after I sent many followup calls and emails, they finally mailed an incomplete estimate to the wrong address. No one from the company ever called to discuss the project. January 2012 I provided JN Davis a specific scope of work with construction guidelines created by my architect, Again, I never recieved any contact from the company. Once I finally did make contact (after many phone calls) Brent (apparently the owner) called back. During his conversation he stated that he was not interested in bidding against other contractors and that if I wished to work with a "family company in business 93 years" or whatever, that he might be willing to meet with me. He then demanded my insurance claim reports, without which he would not provide a bid. His reason was that he knows how to "work a claim to get every last dollar out of the adjuster." Now.... I own an insurance brokerage, and I'm well experienced in claim management. I'm funding the repairs myself (cash on hand) and I am handling the claim directly with my insurance company, which I explained. He still refused to consider my project without being provided all of my private insurance claim documents. Needless to say, it was not a pleasure working with JN Davis.
