The first time I met Marvin and worked with him my boys were 5 & 7 years old. Now they are 9 & 11. In the past 4 years Marvin has redone my kitchen, built a brand new deck and RE landscaped the entire front of my house, redone a bathroom, finished numerous minor jobs it's hard to name them all, and at the end of 2018 he gave my backyard a RE-do too! This was no easy RE-do, I have a good size backyard and it had 4 large concrete planters, a cabana that had seen its last days, weathered and beaten up, huge hedges throughout the yard dividing it up... it was once a beautiful oasis but over time turned into an overgrown jungle. So they demo'd while carefully keeping & working around what I wanted to keep. Re-built the cabana and added beautiful brick paver work around the cabana creating a walkway and sitting area, making the cabana appear larger and cozy. He put new grass and landscaping lights everywhere... Marvin is so efficient and sensitive to detail I don't even think of calling anyone else when a new job comes up. If he's busy, which has happened, I am more then happy to wait my turn for his expertise!!!! I know when he's working on my projects he is working hard, I'm sure he is doing the same for all his clients. While on a job he is always present and easy to talk to. He is happy to discuss the project with us (me & my husband) daily. Something else about Marvin and his crew is their professional attitude. They are never upset, every day is a positive day, they work together as a team, ready to get it all done! I refer him to all my friends and family. I know he will do a great job every time! Excellent! I have used Marvin several times over the years and have never been disappointed. From small projects to major remodels. I have recommended him to neighbors, friends, and family numerous times without hesitation. He has done a master bedroom and bathroom addition for both of my sisters, a new deck for my parents, a new kitchen for my neighbor, and numerous yard and home repairs and clean up. His finish work is top notch and he won't leave until you are happy. I think Marvin saved our house... he certainly saved our Christmas holiday! We called and told him our floor felt "squishy". It was an area we don't often walk in and there's a table against that wall. Visitors came, we pulled the table out to use it, and someone noticed the less-than-stable-floor. Well, Marvin came right out to look at the problem. He found both water and termite damage that could have been just awful. A support wall was not supporting the second story of the house! Ugh! Big mess and 3 weeks till Christmas and family with little kids coming!. Marvin and his crew were on top of things. With energy and knowledge, he took out the rotten floor and wall. Replaced the wood and treated it against future damage and then replaced all the old flooring. He even repainted the walls so everything looks fresh and new. Yay! The room looks great! Second time I used Marvin and his team. I had a tree that grew into/under the foundation, cracking the exterior wall. They dug down, ground out the stump, and poisoned the roots. Next they removed the cracked stucco, replaced it and matched the texture and color so well I didn't even have to repaint. Can't say enough, fast, cleaned up EVERYTHING, and restored my 50 year old wooden garage door so it will last 50 more years. My wife found J. Marvin through Yelp! about 8 months ago. Marvin has truly been a blessing to me on my journey to become a multi-property investor. There are many people out there who can be paid to "fix" things at your property. I haven't had many bad experiences using contractors other than Marvin. The reason I'm writing this review and I continue to call him is because he his honest, timely, accurate, trustworthy, informative and insightful.
