Can't say enough good things about Marvin & his team. He transformed our house into a home that we absolutely love. He was kind and professional from the beginning and there was not a day that the team was not there on time each morning. They worked tirelessly and were able to finish the job on time. We had a few things done: we added a full bathroom to my husband's mancave, closed up and reconfigured our laundry area, added built in bench seating and pony wall up in our dining room, expanded and redid our entryway and redid the facade of our home from an old shingled yellow and red place that the original owner had since the late 60's to a modern Spanish style beauty. We love Marvin and the team! read more

The first time I met Marvin and worked with him my boys were 5 & 7 years old. Now they are 9 & 11. In the past 4 years Marvin has redone my kitchen, built a brand new deck and RE landscaped the entire front of my house, redone a bathroom, finished numerous minor jobs it's hard to name them all, and at the end of 2018 he gave my backyard a RE-do too! This was no easy RE-do, I have a good size backyard and it had 4 large concrete planters, a cabana that had seen its last days, weathered and beaten up, huge hedges throughout the yard dividing it up... it was once a beautiful oasis but over time turned into an overgrown jungle. So they demo'd while carefully keeping & working around what I wanted to keep. Re-built the cabana and added beautiful brick paver work around the cabana creating a walkway and sitting area, making the cabana appear larger and cozy. He put new grass and landscaping lights everywhere... Marvin is so efficient and sensitive to detail I don't even think of calling anyone else when a new job comes up. If he's busy, which has happened, I am more then happy to wait my turn for his expertise!!!! I know when he's working on my projects he is working hard, I'm sure he is doing the same for all his clients. While on a job he is always present and easy to talk to. He is happy to discuss the project with us (me & my husband) daily. Something else about Marvin and his crew is their professional attitude. They are never upset, every day is a positive day, they work together as a team, ready to get it all done! I refer him to all my friends and family. I know he will do a great job every time! I'll post more photos soon. read more

Excellent! I have used Marvin several times over the years and have never been disappointed. From small projects to major remodels. I have recommended him to neighbors, friends, and family numerous times without hesitation. He has done a master bedroom and bathroom addition for both of my sisters, a new deck for my parents, a new kitchen for my neighbor, and numerous yard and home repairs and clean up. His finish work is top notch and he won't leave until you are happy. Personally, Marvin has done work on several houses: New lawn and automatic sprinklers Block wall and raised planters 900 sqft of engineered hardwood floors Complete remodel of 2 bathrooms New redwood deck New trex deck Replacement window and a new front door 150 sqft addition for a new bathroom and walk-in closet Stone work Plumbing Electrical work Stucco work Paint and dry wall I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone! read more

Really disappointed in Marvin He asked that I send him pictures of the work I wanted done in my kitchen...that was over a week ago & he's never called me back or even responded by text He mentioned he was booked for the next 3 months which I understand but it was so unprofessional & inconsiderate to not respond at all & leave me hanging Would have liked to give a positive review as others have but Marvin never gave me a chance read more

Marvin has managed many projects for us since our last review. I'm attaching before and after photos of three such projects - redesigning our entryway and hearth and creating a new, elegant retaining wall adjacent to outdoor seating. As always, Marvin's work was both high quality and timely. Thanks, Marvin. read more

Marvin did a great job with my bathroom remodel! He was very honest and upfront about how long it would take and the process which made me feel comfortable about hiring him. I received quotes from almost 9 people/companies but Marvin's was the best price. My bathroom looks amazing and I'm very happy the way it turned out. I'm definitely going to consider him for future projects and you should too! read more

Hire Marvin to reinforce my garage. Did an outstanding job. Went above and beyond whatbwas required. Will definitely hire him again.

Marvin has become the only person I trust with my home. He has installed my washer/dryer, fixed outdated electricity, built a cinder block fence, and painted home exterior. Oh, and he also saved the day when my water heater busted and flooded. With each project I was 200% satisfied. He patiently answers my questions and explains his recommendations. His quotes are very reasonable, he works expeditiously, and is respectful with his team of workers. I recommend him to everyone I know. read more

Marvin is very reliable. His work is high quality and always takes care to make everything right. He really made our home look wonderful and he is very skilled and dependable. He did a kitchen and bath remodel. He also added wood floors, windows and repainted the living and bedrooms and replaced wood paneling with drywall. Marvin also added a great deck to the exterior or the house. Much recommended for any job you may need! read more

I think Marvin saved our house... he certainly saved our Christmas holiday! We called and told him our floor felt "squishy". It was an area we don't often walk in and there's a table against that wall. Visitors came, we pulled the table out to use it, and someone noticed the less-than-stable-floor. Well, Marvin came right out to look at the problem. He found both water and termite damage that could have been just awful. A support wall was not supporting the second story of the house! Ugh! Big mess and 3 weeks till Christmas and family with little kids coming!. Marvin and his crew were on top of things. With energy and knowledge, he took out the rotten floor and wall. Replaced the wood and treated it against future damage and then replaced all the old flooring. He even repainted the walls so everything looks fresh and new. Yay! The room looks great! Thank you, Marvin! You and your guys are awesome! read more

Second time I used Marvin and his team. I had a tree that grew into/under the foundation, cracking the exterior wall. They dug down, ground out the stump, and poisoned the roots. Next they removed the cracked stucco, replaced it and matched the texture and color so well I didn't even have to repaint. Can't say enough, fast, cleaned up EVERYTHING, and restored my 50 year old wooden garage door so it will last 50 more years. I almost wish something else would break so I could use them again....ALMOST!! read more

Good, reliable people are extremely difficult to find. I've had people say they were going to show up and never do. I've had people fix things incorrectly. I've had people who don't have the proper tools, materials, or knowledge to get the job done correctly. Working with J Marvin has been such a refreshing experience. J Marvin is always on time, does outstanding work, deals with difficult tenants, and goes above and beyond the the task. He's done every job imaginable for me from plumbing to drywall to tile to structural work. Would definitely recommend J for any job you need. read more

Marvin just completed my bathroom remodel. I am thrilled with the results. The quality of his work is outstanding and he pays attention to even the smallest detail. Everything we agreed upon was completed and he stuck to his original contracted price. Marvin and his workers were very polite and hardworking. They respected my home by taking steps to lay down coverings on the floors and furniture and all demo and trash was removed so you barely knew they had been there. I highly recommend Marvin's work. My wife found J. Marvin through Yelp! about 8 months ago. Marvin has truly been a blessing to me on my journey to become a multi-property investor. There are many people out there who can be paid to "fix" things at your property. I haven't had many bad experiences using contractors other than Marvin. The reason I'm writing this review and I continue to call him is because he his honest, timely, accurate, trustworthy, informative and insightful. When J.Marvin talks to you about something that needs to be repaired, he is not trying to secure work with with a short term vision. He informs you and gives you options, which is why I continue to call Marvin for the handyman jobs and the renovation jobs. He has the skill, perspective and knowledge to handle both. He takes the time to understand my objective(s) as a property investor and helps me to create a plan to get to the end goal while considering the repair/renovation costs, the cost of time and market conditions. Today Marvin helps with repairs, in the future I plan to be doing more renovations - creating more value in the marketplace. I highly recommend J.Marvin for repairs and renovations - he's done both for me. read more

Marvin has been working on my home remodel since November, after taking over for our 1st contractor who made numerous mistakes. Marvin did a terrific job, fixing mistakes made by the first contractor and completing the job quickly and efficiently. Marvin is skilled, dedicated, hardworking, reliable, thorough and fair. He is here, on site, making sure everything goes smoothly, every day. I heartily recommend him for just about any aspect of home remodel/repair as he has a broad range of expertise. read more
