Sushi deluxe

This is the best sushi I have had in a while, and the price is unbeatable! You can get 3 order and combine them in a party tray.

Wow, don't let the storefront fool you. From the outside, it just appears to be a store with a bunch of adorable Japanese stationary items but to my surprise, this is one of the best quality sushi you can get in Bergen County!! The sushi deluxe is an amazing deal for $20 - its super fresh with great variety that includes Uni, Toro and Botanebi. Best $20 ever spent. I recommend ordering in advance so you can pick up the food quicker when you get there. Parking (street) may be a bit of a challenge but its worth it! Upon walking in, there's a bunch of Japanese snacks you can buy - prepackaged, frozen, ready to eat, beverages & etc. The sushi chef is in the back and you can shop around while you wait. LOVE this place!

Great quality Sushi & Sashimi, and reasonably priced. We ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Super Deluxe, Spicy Salmon Roll. Everything was delicious! I think the hardest part is placing the order... they're always very busy, and wait time can be long (40min~3 hours) depending on the day. Best to call ahead a day or two for special occasions. If you want it same day, call as soon as they open. Highly recommend

Great little Japanese grocery store. They have a little of everything from snacks, drinks, household items, ramen, groceries, AND FRESH MADE SUSHI. In house sushi chef from a well known Manhattan sushi restaurant. Made to order with cheap prices. Staff is very friendly. The place is very clean and serious about COVID. They have many staple items plus little things you won't find at larger Japanese grocery stores. Prices are fair. Some things are more expensive here but negligible amount if they are local to you.

After reading the reviews, I decided to give this place a try. Hubs and daughter were both craving for sushi. Daughter fell in love with the market because it reminded her of the convenience stores that are seen in Japanese and Korean dramas. She took lots of pictures while we were there! I thought it was both cute and cool that there was a little sushi kitchen in the back corner of the store. I was a bit worried about encountering a long wait but my worries were all for naught. We got there around 11 and were the first there. We ordered Sashimi Deluxe and Sushi Deluxe. It's basically our go-to Sashimi Deluxe Platter. It was a 30 minute wait but it was worth it because we all loved the sashimi and sushi! Daughter and I were fighting for the salmon and tuna. LOL! While waiting for our orders, we perused the store and bought a couple of items there. There were so many things I wanted to buy and had to control myself. Neighborhood was also nice looking too. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely return when in the area!

I've lived in this town for 5 years and shop here once in awhile. My kids wanted some salmon sashimi and wanted to give this place a try. Man, the toro and scallops in the sashimi deluxe is to die for. My son tried the toro for the first time and now he's hooked. Might have made a mistake cause he'll be fighting me for it from now on lol. The price is very reasonable considering what you get. Highly recommended!

This is our happy place. Ordering sushi for an amazing meal has been our treat! Bring the party to your home when you order and pick up from J Mart!

This is most definitely my go-to sushi place! The two sushi chef's are very talented with over 30 years of experience, creating authentic, real Japanese sushi for everyone to enjoy. My personal favorite is definitely the Spicy Salmon Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll. You can definitely tell that the rice and fish are very fresh! On top of the sushi they offer, there's so many grocery options as well. There's fresh vegetables packaged everyday, fresh bread brought in every morning, a lot of grocery products and snacks to fulfill my everyday needs. I can walk in a grab a few ramen packs and some snacks, and I'm set. It's in a rather easy location, so it's convenient! The workers are also very very nice, speaking both Japanese and English! Definitely would recommend!

It's a really cute place! Everything is reasonably priced, a bit on the smaller side but otherwise a well kept store.

That's pretty accurate. The workers don't look happy, but they are busy. There's usually 2 cashiers up front. The younger lady that looks to be in her 30's will at least speak. The other cashier looks like a sweet old grandma, but is surprisingly rude. In my experience, she doesn't speak when I say hi, I'll ask for a bag and she'll place it on the belt instead of my outstretched hand, she doesn't say thank you. At first I thought maybe she's just tired and having a bad day. Nope. Been in the store several times since and noticed grandma picks and choose who she's going to bless with a little customer service! I've seen her smile and talk up some, while stone face ignoring others. Even if grandma is a little crotchety at times, I am glad to see she's still out here being active and working.

Just the basics: milk, yogurt, honey, fruit and that's about it. Since the whole large chain supermarket thing annoys the crap out of me, I search for solutions. Convenience stores are fine but if you're looking for produce, they're not going to cut it. So those times when I need to stock up without really stocking up, I hit up Kilroy's. They are a small but well stocked mini supermarket that also sells booze. Their prices are.....Well, I don't really know because it's the only place I ever shop. I assume that they're higher than say, Shop Rite but I'm not sure and for me, convenience is number 1. Parking is easy and they are never, ever crowded. Worth mentioning is that if you're looking for a deli counter or elaborate prepared foods, look elsewhere; Maywood Market for example. If you need variety and like to pick and choose amongst multiple brands and sizes, again, not your best choice. But if you need to get the basics, they really can't be beat. My go to place because I really go to no place else.

My partner and I walked in at about 8:50 (being very aware of their closing time of 9 pm), and came to get one item quickly as they were the only store that carries it nearby. Almost immediately after walking in, a larger man in grey sweatpants walked over to the liquor counter and goes on the intercom, saying something to the effect of "the store is closing, get your stuff and go to the register because we want to go home". I can understand this feeling as I've worked customer service and retail and always disliked when people came in near closing. However, we were right behind the man using the intercom and were out the door in less than 2 minutes. I would have appreciated him coming to us and greeting us with the store closing information, rather than a gruff intercom grumble. We understood the need to move quickly without this. Maybe you need someone else to take the closing shift? Regardless, we were aware that we were there close to the wire, and we got our stuff and got out after a stare from the grumpy old man.

Even with my bad math skills I knew that was crazy! The manager Randy saved the day. He asked what my problem was and I told him. He said let me buy a coffee to bring it up to $20. How nice is that?
