Finally got a chance to try this place out. It was quite inside no customers I'm sure that's due to corona but there was an older gentleman just sitting waiting for customers when me and my daughter arrived he took out order and was very friendly. We ordered the gumbo which was good a little on the spicy side but delicious and I ordered my husband the looney burger I asked for it plain with just meat, cheese, and beacon but it didn't come correctly it still had tomatoes and ketchup but it's ok my husband removed it. We went a few times and tried different things - The Looney Burger was sooo good and it came with Bacon! The wings were bomb as well! I definitely would suggest buying the Greens and Potato Salad. haven't had homemade greens and potato salad in a while so it was a taste of home - They create a nice vibe with music playing and the staff is friendly! The wings and fries were fine, I got a drink it didn't give you an option to pick a size I guess they just have small. I picked a root beer for my drink, but then I took a couple of sips then I was like. "Wtf I finished it already!" I realized that they gave me more ice then root beer. J. Looney's culture food is that of which I haven't tasted in years. For breakfast one day I had the Shrimp & Grits it was top notch, wings are delicious, the sides are consistently terrific and if you close your eyes while eating the Seafood Gumbo with sausage you will be instantaneously transported to New Orleans due to it authenticity of its flavor. I haven't tasted everything on the menu yet, but I intend to. This restaurant has been opened for a couple of weeks and it is already gaining the reputation as the place be to get quality cuisine with a feeling of home. 1 thing you must get is the Mac and cheese and the lemonade. When I say they are both fire . I Had the red snapper garlic and lemon style good flavor moist. I'm definitely coming back was a lil sad tho they only had gumbo on the weekend but I'll be back to review that as well. Add this to your dining black while in LBC treats. LOVED the food at J Looney's! Fast, friendly service. My man ordered the BBQ ribs with mac n cheese and collard greens, and I ordered the burger, substituting the meat for a fried green tomato. We both really loved what we ordered--he even tried a bite of my "burger" and agreed that it was super flavorful and a fun spin on a vegetarian classic. I stopped in after finding their Instagram page. The gumbo is what I really came for because I'd been craving it and it's hard to find good gumbo In LA unless you get it homemade. I drove from LA to Long Beach to satisfy my taste buds. I met the owner who was working hard in the kitchen. I ordered gumbo with Mac n cheese. The gumbo came with French bread and rice. The bread was fire and So buttery. The gumbo wasn't skimpy at all either and came out piping hot and tasted fresh. I even tried the lemon cake for dessert which was pretty good too. Initially i called in for gumbo (i didnt read, they only have it on the weekends) instead i purchased the Smothered Pork chops w/ mac n cheese and greens as my 2 sides. Everything was really good, pork chops were perfectly tender and seasoned well, mac wasnt greasy and had a good amount of cheese and the greens were good with the tapatio provided. Only problem i had with this place was me not reading and them not serving gumbo during the week lol I will be back and will be recommending to my friends... MUST TRY. First off the customer service was great. I needed help choosing and the host helped me with great suggestions. All of the food I ordered came out in a decent amount of time. The food was actually so good that I ordered more after I finished my original order. All of the food was at a really fair price. I didn't feel a throng was over charged or anything.
