This review is for their custom letter donuts only. Regular donuts are great tasting every time I come here. They get a 5. But I ordered one dozen P donuts and one dozen J donuts. They were smaller size than their regular donuts and the J shaped donuts were a disappointment. They looked like little logs. I thought they'd at least add the top of the J to make them look better. They were pricey too. $34 for each dozen.
About 10 days ago, I bought some customized donuts from JK donuts and brought them to my husband's work. I'd say the donuts were aesthetically pleasing. My husband's colleagues really like them and got lots of compliments. Service: Fast! The lady was able to accomodate a short notice order a day before my husband's bday celebration at work. Food: Visually artistic. Tasted really good. However, they were a bit on a smaller size. They almost look like the bite size donuts. Price: $32+tax for the complete "Happy Birthday +name" or only $20+tax for "Happy Bday". Prices vary as well for different flavours/toppings.

When I did a Yelp search of the area, I appeared to be exhausting my options with only a few left to try - go figure! As I neared completion of donut shops in Whittier, would I return to this one once that time comes!? PURCHASE THE "APPLE FRITTER IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD TOUR" CONTINUED... Apple Fritter ($1.95): Not that I was an apple fritter snob - eff it...yes I was! - but there was a certain way I liked mine. 1st, the price was very comparable to the now going rate. 2nd, it was very round, I liked the thickness and density, and basically the size of my face (an ode to the great Goldstar Donuts in Van Nuys). 3rd, there was a mass amount of apple bits. 4th, the overall dark brown color was extremely nice with many burnt ends (I loved it burnt), and the heavy glaze made for an incredibly good and messy cracking effect. There were many crunchy odd crannies, corners, and nooks which I liked to break off into small little morsels. 5th, it was fresh based on its temperature with slight hints of oil pockets or gooey apple juices that leaked into your mouth and dripped down your throat. PARKING (FREE) Located within a medium strip mall with several businesses, parking actually wasn't bad at all since I parked directly in front of the shop. Otherwise, there was plenty of parking along the main drag of Whittier Blvd. and nearby side streets. I didn't notice any TVs nor background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL J K Donuts was a lovely find with an amazing apple fritter and would definitely return for more! Everything was fresh and yummy, the prices comparable, and the service exceptional. They also sold bagels, coffee/drinks/tea, croissants, ramen, and more! Plus, it's always a pleasure to support a mom & pop small business. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $11.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Thanks to Yelp I was able to find a local donut shop that makes the donut letters. Placed the order a week before. Price was $26. I requested that they make the donuts a little thicker because some of the pictures from IG show the donuts on the skinnier side. The guy who helped me wasn't the most pleasant and welcoming in the world but he took the order correctly and delivered timely. Can't comment on the taste because the 13 men I was with gobbled them up...the birthday boy didn't even get to taste them.
I called early in the morning for a last minute happy bday donuts and they were able to make it for me super fast. The lady on the phone told me for orders with a special name request are normally done the day before. So for my next order I will for sure call a day in advance. I am attaching a picture of the donuts and you can see for yourself just how cute it came out. My daughter absolutely loved it. I paid $17 and it was worth every dollar to see my daughter so happy when she got it.
I would of given this place 5 stars but when picked up donut orders we got a strawberry banana smoothie with boba and it was not good. So felt like I wasted $4.50 on that.. on another note though, placed an order for pink and light blue donuts with white sprinkles and the donuts were so cute and so yummy!!! Definitely would go back for donuts!
Place is right next to Dunkin Donuts. Crazy right? But it is a family owned spot that has a good variety to choose from. I came here on the morning of 7/15 saturday, because I saw them on instagram for custom letter donuts. I wanted letter shaped donuts in fun colors for my daughters 7th birthday. And they made it happen with the colors I needed. They even recreated a few squid shapes that was needed to accent for her birthday theme. Ill soon come again for holiday or special occasion shaped donuts.

We've had coffee, donuts and breakfast sandwiches all week here since staying close by. It's right next to Dunkin Donuts and we would much rather buy from a mom & pop local shop instead. The service is quick and the staff is very kind. The ambiance is clean and welcoming. This time we also bought lotto tickets on our last day. I highly recommend J K Donuts! read more

First time stopping here and wanted to pick up something to eat. The spot looked well maintained but limited in donuts since it was later in day. I picked up a ham and cheese croissant and it wasn't bad. The service was great and bakery good reasonably priced. read more

Only $18 for up to 16 letters/characters with sprinkles. +$1 if you add another color Regular donuts are $8ish for a dozen I tried the Blueberry one and it was good and soft They are made daily and the ordering process is very easy. Just need to call a day in advance. I was surprised a store with such cute donuts didn't have a crazy line. I went to pick them up in the morning and it was quick and easy. The couple working there is nice. The store is unassuming in a plaza right next to Dunkin Donuts. They also sell boba, ham n cheese croissant, etc Great for gifts and special occasions!! read more

I'm so happy to have found this place... we wanted something different for my friends birthday and since we were doing breakfast theme donuts seemed better then cake!! It was super easy to call and order a day ahead of time and I was able to choose the colors and toppings. JK Donuts is a mom & pop donut shop located in a strip mall. Their main competition is almost at their doorstep. They are going up against one of the big boys whose initials are DD. The shop is plain and simple. No fancy gourmet donuts here. I bought a Cream filled Chocolate Donut. Instead of injecting the cream. They slice the donut and spread the cream inside. It was good, but I prefer the other method. If I were to choose between the chain donut shop and JK, then I would pick this little shop. Oh yeah....they sell Lottery and Lotto tickets. You might get lucky! read more

I saw their Instagram and knew immediately I had to try them out. The owners made the whole process super easy. I called on Friday and placed an order to pick up their lettered donuts the next morning. There was plenty of parking on a Saturday morning and my order was ready by the time I arrived. The owners were also really patient while I decided on other donuts to add to my order. I went with the usual glaze and sprinkled covered donuts, but there were fresh bacon and fruit-loop covered donuts being made while I was there (7:30-8am) that I plan to go back to try! read more

J K Donuts hooked it up for my sons birthday and the custom letter donuts were a huge hit with his baseball team. Yes my son had practice on his birthday. The donuts were fresh and decorated just as we requested and we only needed a 24 hour advance notice and my son was extremely happy. The service was great and they provided options. This is a small mom and pop shop and the prices are not as expensive as Dunkin' Donuts which is next door. I couldn't resist and picked up an apple fritter and it was fresh and delicious at 4:30 pm. You've seen donuts like these in every other shop. What you haven't seen are some of the toppings that they have created. Breakfast cereals , crackers, and my favorite real bacon. Yes, you heard right. Pieces of bacon on top of a maple glazed donut. There has got to be a special place in heaven for whoever created this delicious treat. The place is a mom and pop small business right next to a giant corporations Donut House. These entrepreneurs are very creative and living the American dream. Give them a try. There's plenty of parking so burn a few calories getting in and out of your car to go get your Donuts instead of sitting in your car in the corporate drive-thru Donut House. read more

Donuts are good here. Service was very friendly. However, the breakfast croissant could've been better. The croissant was very large but the texture wasn't flakey or crispy (like a day old). Breakfast croissant comes with egg, one slice of ham, and cheese. Stick to donuts. Extra charge for using ATM/Credit Cards for transactions under $6. read more

So I have seen these awesome doughnuts that can spell out almost anything you want on Instagram. I wanted to try it for my sons bday this past weekend so I ordered them. I was a little worried because when I was ordering they wrote my info on a lotto ticket and I didnt get any receipt so i was crossing my fingers and hoped they would be there when i needed them. Well i went to pick them up and it was the correct color and wording and they were on time. The doughnuts not only looked AMAZING!!! But they tasted so fresh and good. Everyone at the party loved the doughnuts because it was different and they told me they tasted so good. I highly recommend this place. read more
