I ordered a 21 piece of red snapper and received snapper mixed with basa and cat fish.

The spoiled chicken wings I didn't eat, I took them apart so you could see inside.

No stars if I could! The first time I went I loved it! Even though I ordered catfish and they gave basa instead. I suppose they thought I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but I'm pescatarian and eat chicken occasionally. Today I ordered those fried chicken wings again. Because the last time I got them, they were delicious! But today, I tasted one piece and it was SPOILED, DARK, SMELLY, they all were to be chicken wings. I phoned them and I was told to bring the plate back, they would refund me within two days. They didn't offer to compensate me for my time and gas! I'm sick with more than one immunocompromising disorder. This could have been all bad for me. They need to do much better than serving spoiled food to customers!!!

Sweet potato pie

Thank you Raheem A. for your recommendation of this place. You're right, the food is good :) Looking over their menu, we spotted the gumbo and jambalaya! Plus, we just had fish and chicken yesterday so... All around pleased with our dine out experience. Lots of parking out front and our order came out quick! Gumbo was delicious! Crab, shrimp, and chicken in savory broth came with a scoop of rice. This was yummy, we'll be back for this! Jambalaya had great cajun spices. Shrimp, chicken, and sausage in this delicious rice dish. It was hearty and flavorful. Such a huge refrigerator showcase of desserts too. They make it impossible to leave without a slice. Carrot cake almost came home in our bag but we went for the sweet potato pie instead. 'Nana puddin' next time! We had great customer service and our order was quick. We'll be back :)

Red Beans and Rice-ish

I'm not sure where to start so I guess we'll start with the first Door Dash order. We ordered in the time of COVID19, and it was a basic order. 2 orders of jumbalya, fried catfish nuggets, a side of okra, and banana pudding. Sounds simple enough. Come to find out that they canceled the order via email. We had no idea, and just happen to check. We called the restaurant to see if they were out of a specific item(s) and they confirmed that they had each of the listed items. Okay. So, we order again. During the order, the size options for the jambalaya (small, medium, and large) dwindles down to medium. Ok. We get 2 mediums. I decided to add an order of Red Beans and Rice. This order went through. So, the delivery person from Door Dash decided to not notify us when they arrived or when the food was left at the door. That was fun! And lastly, our order fulfillment. Guess what! There was zero jambalaya! They gave us two orders of red beans and rice. Yay! I won't bother with the quality of the food because no matter which adjectives I use, itll sorely undersell how atrocious it was. The red beans and rice were bland. The catfish was 95% cornmeal. The fries were cold. The banana pudding was congealed messiness. The okra was the star! And that's sad because you can tell that it was previously frozen. Terribad experience. Save your money. Don't. Eat. Here.

Problem with the menu online, combo plates don't offer jumbo shrimp as a option... but anyway. Got em with a side of greens. Greens were good, idk if they use pork or turkey... Everything came hot even though they said they would be here in 12 minutes and got here in like 22. I am full, though, thanks for a good hot meal. PS did you change up the fries? PPS thanks for all the hotsauce, but no slackmojis .com/emojis/7058-forky

We had dinner at Seafood House Quan Oc, and everyone definitely came hungry! Sokny and our daughter Skylie went with the seafood boil, and it was excellent! The seafood came with a delicious curry-style sauce that had so much flavor. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal! Our niece Maddie and youngest daughter Laila enjoyed the kids' chicken wings and fries, and Maddie also really liked the eggrolls. We shared an appetizer of crab cheese wontons, which were another hit. My mom had the garlic noodles, while I went with the fish fillet with rice and salad -- and it was all great! For drinks, Skylie had a Thai tea, while Sokny tried a Black Superman and a lemon drop. The lemon drop was unfortunately more lemonade than vodka, but hey... we still had a good laugh about it! Overall, the food was fantastic, but what made the night special was simply being together as a family. 10 years of marriage, lots of memories, and many more to come. Thank you to my beautiful wife for sharing this journey with me. I love you, Sokny!

We got the "special" buy one pound get the next pound free so we did shrimp. We got shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and dungeness crab with the special blend in one bag. The hook and reel special blend was honestly pretty gross it was sweet, Smokey and not very buttery or salty at all. We asked for lemon pepper and extra butter to put inside(which was an extra charge) it made it a little better but I've definitely had better elsewhere. The garlic noodles were really good they had a soy sauce flavor, garlicky and cheesy. The price was pretty expensive considering I've spent $30 less elsewhere. Here at hook & reel I spent $96 The service was good. She was very kind and helpful but also wasn't very attentive. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall I wouldn't come back and I recommend going to Captain crab in Elk Grove it is so much better tasting and cheaper!!

Despite the many customers, my husband and I waited only a couple of minutes because the staff was quickly seating people as tables were cleared. Once we were seated, our server came over shortly to take our order. I ordered the shrimp noodles since they're currently available for a limited time, and the sha-bang bang shrimp since I don't ever remember seeing that on the menu before. The server quoted us 20-30 minutes for the food, but it took a fraction of that time for food to start coming out. The sha-bang bang shrimp was the only item that was close to 20 minutes, so I don't recommend ordering it if you're showing up starving. The shrimp noodles were definitely coated generously with flavor. With 5-6 decently-sized shrimp mixed in, I thought it was a reasonable price. It felt more like a dish you could make at home from a premade pack, but it still hit the spot for me. The sha-bang bang shrimp had a nice light deep-fried exterior, but what killed it for me was how much seasoning they threw on. I found myself rubbing some of the seasoning off on the table (they put a fresh table cover down for newly seated tables). If heavy seasoning isn't your style, I definitely recommend requesting light seasoning or maybe asking them to put it on the side. You can order an extra side of rice to balance it out too. Also, I didn't expect the side of sausage to be so big. We ended up taking most of it home because it was just so much protein on top of the shrimp we already ordered. I probably won't be returning here anytime soon, but the new dishes were decent. Also, our server gave us the perfect amount of attention. She checked on us now and then and made sure our water was full (boy, did we need water).

We decided to…read moreeat here because we saw on the reviews that they had ox tail soup and bun rieu ( crab noodle soup). It appears the restaurant mainly serves seafood. As there are a lot of seafood options. However there is hotpot options and other noodle and rice dishes as well. The restaurant has a small outdoor patio. Inside has spacious table seating, some with booth and good lighting inside. There was ballad vietnamese music video playing. The restaurant was not busy and there were elderly men at the tables playing cards and some at another table they were chatting & drinking. Im not sure if they hold karaoke or have live bands but there is a stage with music instruments and a projector with installed party lights. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted right away. It was a bummer when they told us they didn't make ox tail or bum rieu today. Instead we ordered beef tartare, beef pho and shaken beef with rice. The beef tartare was this sliced raw beef with onion, herbs and lime which made the dish rich and savory. The pho was mediocre and same goes for the shaken beef, but both dishes were still tasty enough. During our time there, the server did not check on us or refill our water. The clay pot catfish was tasty, just a little too sweet for me, but it went great with the rice 7/10. Definitely ask for the Dasavi Lemon Chili Sauce for the oysters and clams -- it's sooo good. I came here with a friend and wanted to come here partly because I remembered the fish being very fresh and presentation being nice. We came on a weekday evening and there was two other tables here. It is a smaller restaurant in terms of space, but clean and modern appearing. The server was very nice and they offered complimentary items including miso soup, salad, and a generous scoop of ube ice cream. We ordered two rolls (sea steak roll and happy lemon roll) and a large sashimi. Large sashimi - fish was very fresh, there was a variety, they were thick cut slices. Presentation was pretty. It had a dried bamboo slice with "karai" burnt into it and two little lucky cat figurines. It had the shredded radish or something as the bed, shisho leaves, and seaweed salad. Sea steak roll - I liked the chili oil on here. The chili oil had a depth to it that left a lasting spice on the tongue, more so than the average chili oil. Happy lemon roll - I chose this roll cuz I wanted the lemon taste. Some slices didn't have the lemon on there, but this roll was also heavy on the sauce which was sweet. I didn't really care for this roll as much. Miso soup - had chunks of enoki mushroom stems, otherwise a straightforward soup. Salad - Had baby spring mix but also heavy on the dressing which was a creamy kind (tasted like the happy lemon roll sauce). It was topped off with tortilla strips. Ube ice cream - scoop size was generous, and it came with some whipped cream. It tastes like it was from Gunthers! Ube taste was good. Ice cream was creamy, and not too icy. I really hope Karai sticks around because it wasn't so crowded the times I've now been here!

It was a nice contrast while complimenting the fish. I liked how this roll had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, salmon, and hamachi. Two rolls was plenty for me to feel full! I definitely will be ordering from here again and hope I get to dine in soon.

So we really appreciated how quickly everything came out here! Now, THE FOOD! My hubby and I both got the Dungeness crab with the mild Cajun & garlic butter seasoning. It came with potatoes and corn, and we also added a side of rice and the Cajun fries. The seasoning was SO good! It had plenty of flavor without being overly salty. The crab was delicious and cooked perfectly. And those Cajun fries?! They were super crispy and seasoned to perfection! The only thing I would have changed was that we weren't given any crab crackers or tools to help us get into the crab. We actually thought they didn't have any at first. We later asked and were provided with some, but it would have been nice if they were offered or brought out with our gloves and bibs since we ordered crab. Other than that, I really enjoyed our experience! I especially loved that the restaurant has a more relaxed atmosphere compared to some other crab boil spots. The seats were comfortable, the music wasn't extremely loud, and it still had a fun vibe while being quiet enough for us to actually have a conversation. Overall, I'm giving Captain Crab a 10/10!
