a glass of red liquid on a table

Finally tried the brunch and I personally will be back! The brunch menu has a wide variety and everything is good. The cocktails/drinks were nothing special or different than any other place. Our server was good until she got busy with a bunch of tables at the same and she was working the bar. Definitely think she needed help or another server! The food tasted great and fresh, highly recommend any of the "Frank" menu items. Place is cute and quaint since it is an old house.

Greasy risotto, full of crunchy onions.

The food is buffet quality at best. My sea bass was obviously cut in half and maybe 4 Oz, on top of greasy risotto that was described on the menu as having spinach and cherry tomatoes. It was garnished with 2 cherry tomatoes and was at least 30% chopped onions. I'm allergic to onions and rely on menu descriptions to avoid them. Appetizer of mussels tasted freezer burnt. They were served with ONE dinner roll cut into slices with a thing of butter...which was filled with chopped onions. The response was adequate, as our bill was taken care of, but only after we were lectured about the use of garlic and onions in fine dining. It was an uncomfortable encounter and a meal that reminded me of something one would get at Shoney's, if Shoney's starts putting risotto and sea bass on their buffet.

I loved it ! Especially the pimento cheese grits. They were my favorite part of the meal. Love the charm of the old house. And our server was nice.

4 people dining, 1 ordered 10oz filet cooked medium with pimento cheese grits and smashed potatoes. The other three of the table had cake and steak oscar with smashed potatoes, pimento cheese asparagus and green beans were the sides ordered. Everyone had the wedge salad Our server was Josh The good: the location and ambiance is very romantic. The pimento cheese grits and crab cake on the steak Oscar was amazing as was the wedge salad.I ordered a apple Martini, the server said they may not have the sour apple pucker, I was specific on the drink but said I'd take a margarita if they didn't have it, he came back later with drinks and he had what was needed to make the drink The bad: I asked for extra dressing, it never came and not one of the steaks were cooked as we requested. The 10 oz filet was ordered medium it was well done and gritty, and had a char taste as if it had gotten next to coals on the grill. ‍ The steaks on the Oscar were all over cooked and well done. There are better steaks to be had in the area or in my grill at home. I would never order a steak there. The Green beans that were suppose to be on my plate looked and tasted like asparagus, because it was. The smashed potatoes were just ok. And my mixed drink, while I appreciate him having the sour apple, it was not mixed 1/2 and 1/2 so it was not really good. The ugly: I called to make the reservation on Tuesday by Thursday no one had returned my call. My friend called while at dinner Thursday and got a reservation for four at 7 without a problem for Friday. Friday around 4:45 I received a call from the restaurant saying they had a message on their answering machine about a reservation for sat. I snickered and said well it was for tonight but it's been taken care of. 2 minutes later they call me back inquiring about a reservation left on the machine for 4 for Friday. (Can we get it together) Ok now pay attention because this next part is what bothered me the most. The unforgivable: We arrived at 7:05. A couple of the wait staff passed us, a man comes out and says do you have a reservation? Not a greeting, No hello, Welcome to J Frank, how are you, are you celebrating anything special have you ever been here.. NOTHING. I felt like we were a complete inconvenience to this man. He gets menus and says follow me, we proceed up stairs. It was not until 7:17, my friend goes back down to tell them we are upstairs. In another 5 minutes Josh comes up and says he was sorry no one told him there was anyone up there but he was take care of us. I realize that we are in a pandemic and some over worked staff may be a problem, but this was the first time for us to come to this restaurant. We have in the area and within a short drive many options and I was choosing to spend my money with J Frank. And I was left soooooo incredibly disappointed and dissatisfied. Last night fell Into the category of "order what you want but eat what you get." From the moment we walked in, it was just not at all what I was expecting based on what I had heard from others. Overall it was less than mediocre and I wouldn't waste my time and money again.

This restaurant is located in an old Victorian home on 6th in Bristol, TN. The chandelier was flickering and it seemed like a potential ghost hunting situation. The food was good. (See the pictures.) There was live entertainment outside for the people dining on the porch. They played a LOT of Lionel Richie on the inside. Like...a lot. For a while there it felt like we were either at a fan club meeting...or maybe at his mom's house. No "Dancing On The Ceiling", though. I also could've sworn they slipped in a Lou Rawls/Barry White medley. There was a lot of baby making music. The people around us didn't look like they were of baby making age though. That ship had sailed. Make reservations.

Rainbow Trout, Seafood Pasta, Lemon Drop Martini, and Moscow Mule

Food was amazing! Slow service, since there was a large party seated before we arrived. Loved the bartender, wish we'd gotten his name. Even went to him to order our apps and drinks after being seated and he was great about making sure we had service. Oysters Rockefeller were some of the best we've ever had. Seafood pasta was perfect as was the Rainbow Trout. The pimento grits were surprisingly good! A must try! We'll try this place again, since the slow service seemed like a fluke. The home was beautiful and a very romantic setting for date night.

Wow! Nice place, really good food. There were probably at least 5 items I could have ordered. It's not cheap, but it's worth it.

The food is some of the best I've had while in the Tri-City area. The prices were unbelievable. I will go back.
