I've been here quite a few times. These last two times I went I got the prime rib and both times it was delicious. My dad and his wife Sharon also got the prime rib, but they got theirs marinated. This is where Joseph's skills came in. Sharon's prime rib was overcooked. She asked for medium rare. He immediately had it replaced with a new one, no hassles and also obliged us with the extra macaroni salad that she fell head over heels in love with. This is my updated review. My family of four walked in and the place was crowded but we were seated promptly in a nice section of their big dinning area. I ordered the 16oz marinated Prime Rib that was cooked a perfect medium rare with a dark outer crust that was melt in your mouth delicious.wifey ordered a 8oz marinated Prime Rib that came over cooked but they replaced it with one that she said was excellent.Chrissy had the regular Prime Rib medium rare that looked amazing and my brother had the surf and turf and enjoyed every succulent bite. My mother and I frequent J&Rs specifically for their prime rib lunch special. It is now $15.99 for a good slice of juicy prime rib cooked to your liking. Soup/salad, drink, and a cheesecake slice can be added for a $7 upcharge. On this outing we maintained the status quo, 2 orders of prime rib medium rare, mine with their cilantro lime rice and hers with creamed spinach. The prime rib was juicy, easy to cut through and chew, with a nicely seasoned outer crust. Not that it needs it but I like how it pairs with their homemade steak sauce as well. The rice surprised me. It seems to me that restaurants struggle at putting out a respectable rice yet this one managed, I will be having their rice with my prime rib from now on. I did taste some creamed spinach and I liked it as well. It's not overly rich therefore retaining that spinach taste but it's also not enough to be bitter, complimenting the meat well. J&R's deserves their flowers. Offering fair pricing for a steakhouse, good specials, and being involved in their community. The bar tender/server was super friendly and very attentive. We came on a Friday during lunch so we got their lunch specials, which were a great a deal. They also had BOGO appetizers. We got a Caesar salad and onion straws for apps. The salad was fine, nothing special. The onion straws were delicious, and it was a massive serving. I also loved the spicy horseradish sauce that came with it. The BBQ sauce, not so much. My husband and I both got the prime rib lunch special. The prime rib was delicious; my fries were okay. My husband got the broccoli with cheese for his side, but the cheese did not look great. His steak was also way overdone, but they quickly corrected that and brought him a new one. He kept coming over to our table and tried to take our plates away before we were done eating. Then he took our water and drink glasses away. We needed our drinks because we wanted to order dessert. The lunch specials were great and came at a great price. The service was ok, because our server was also making drinks for the entire restaurant and serving the bar and the tables. Overall he did a great job in doing it all, but having the bartender as your server can create delays in ordering and in attentiveness to all of the parties in the establishment. Took my family here for a special Father's Day celebration. Dad was craving for that Prime Rib. It started out with waving down 2 waiters to ask for acknowledgement. We ordered 2 prime ribs and a grilled cheese sandwich. For drinks it was a Sprite and Diet Coke. 1. Both sodas came out flat. We ended up sending everything back and ordered a weak lemonade. 2. The grilled cheese sandwich came out cold. We immediately had to ask them to remake it. 3. My father immediately asked for butter for his baked potatoe the second it was delivered. Never happened and he had to eat it dry. 4. Both prime ribs were very tough and impossible to cut. I had to saw the meat with my knife and chew throughly. I ordered a 2nd drink at the 1/2 way mark to finish the prime riband had to ask twice for another refill. By the time the refill came out, I cut back into the prime rib and it was just too chewy to handle. I gave up! I quickly asked for the check and when the manager came by to ask how everything was, we kindly broke the news that the experience "Wasn't good". He said sorry but that wasn't acceptable for the price I paid.
