Very good take out Chinese food. A friend suggested I try this joint because I was growing tired of my usual takeout spot due to it's inconsistency. Everything I ordered was better than expected. Standard American favorites such as spare ribs, chicken and broccoli, pan fried dumplings, shrimp with string beans, sesame chicken, egg rolls, moo shu beef, wonton/egg drop soup mix and roast pork lo mein were all tasty. I have ordered from J & Ja few times already. Although there Chinese food has been pretty good, their customer service needs some serious work! When ordering on the phone for pick up, I requested a Shrimp with mushrooms and bean sprouts. I did not know this was not an option, until the woman who was trying to take down my order screamed at me saying "that's not an option!!" After quickly adjusting my order to something that was, in fact, on their menu, I was hung up on. I tried calling again from my landline and received no answer. I then tried calling from my cellphone and had the same woman answer the phone. After telling her the first part of my order, she asked me what else I wanted to order. Even thoufh I told her the rest of my order, she told me I was taking too long. I was then hung up on once more. Our normal Chinese food place was closed today so we tried this one. The general tsos chicken were tiny little bits of dry, dark meat with breading on them. One piece had a bone in it that I bit. The chicken and broccoli had almost no sauce and the broccoli wasn't even cooked. I had to put it in the microwave. The chicken... I've never seen such shredded chicken in a meal before. for chinese takeout in the seaford/massapequa/wantagh area, J&J is as good as it gets - don't let the bright lights & fancy advertisements at that other dump coughjen'scough fool you - this is the place to be for quality chinese takeout the biggest thing that sets J&J apart from the others is that everything is fresh & homemade, most importantly their crispy noodles...most chinese restaurants give you those pre-packaged shitty thin noodles that you can buy in the grocery store & taste like cardboard...not here, they're the nice big homemade delicious noodles that i grew up loving...all the food here is truly outstanding, fresh flavorful & delicious why 4 stars & not 5 then? basically, they have a tendency to be a little stingy from time to time, i shouldn't have to ask for the free egg roll they advertise when your order is $15+, and ordering a large soup should get you more of those delicious noodles than ordering a small, but an extra bag is an extra charge unfortunately - the sudden addition of a delivery charge a few years back didn't help matters either, i sort of understood when gas was approaching $5/gallon, but c'mon it's gone down & i'm around the block these little annoyances to one side, J&J really is a top notch chinese takeout, i would definitely recommend trying it to satisfy your next craving read more

I've tried others in the area and they are not consistent, if you can't get the basic wonton right, what about the rest of the menu? Their General Tso's chicken is perfect. Crispy but not over fried. DO NOT ORDER THRU SEAMLESS. Many occasions I have ordered thru this app and when I arrived to pick it up, they didn't even start cooking it yet. And from what I've seen when I am waiting for my order, many others are as well. They are slow. Call before you leave your house to make sure they actually started cooking. I have had alot of different Chinese places since I moved back to Seaford I was living in Levittown and had all my favorite places. I tried one after the other then I tried J & J and there was delicious. The food is fresh and hot. Their Sesame Chicken is all white meat and is to die for. I love their Sesame noodles and the Egg foo young the brown gravy is fantastic. I have never wrote a review on any restuarant but I would suggest them to anyone for take out. 3 stars may not seem like a good review, but don't let that fool you. Some other local Chinese restaurants lack consistancy and J & J wants to reward existing and new customers by making the same food each time. This was the first time I was here and do look forward to going back. The new online ordering system is innovative for a restaurant of this size. You should try that as well as ask for some more of the home made crispy noodles. We enjoyed the spicy beef and all fried items were crispy and not greasy. This is hard to find. The wonton soup may have benefited from a slightly more flavorful wonton filling, but thats just my opinion. The broth was outstanding though and tasted complex. My next review would give this at least four stars if my next visit has the same care and taste as this first time. read more

Food here is pretty good, although I prefer the Wonton Soup from a place down the block. Lunch specials are a great value that can't be beat. Only complaint is that they seem very disorganized. They tell you 15-20 minutes, you get there to pick it up at 20 minutes and you're still waiting at 30 minutes.
