The very next day she drove it as far as Red Deer before the check engine light came on again:/ She stopped at a nearby shop and got them to read the code. Catalytic converter failed again. I contacted KD, the owner of Icon, who said it was still fine for her to take to Banff and to bring it in when she got back. It drove like shit for her all weekend, absolutely no peace of mind!! So yesterday they had it back there and discovered the head gasket was leaking!! A quick google search tells me that a very common reason for a catalytic converter to fail in the first place is typically caused by a separate issue and a gasket leak is a likely cause:/ considering the new converter went within an hour of driving it again it's safe to assume the leak was already there. So now her $5000 car needs a $3000 repair (gasket) plus a new catalytic converter for $1100. I'm not willing to pay for that big repair and had my mechanic done his due diligence to find the root cause of the failed converter I wouldnt be out the $1300 for the original useless catalytic converter replacement and inspection!! They have refused to give me a refund and are not admitting to any wrong doing sending my daughter off on her first road trip in an unsafe vehicle!! Dont bring your vehicles here. Find a thorough, reliable, TRUSTWORTHY mechanic instead.

He asked his wife, who also works there to drive us in our car (car seat) to the new outlet mall to pass the time. And then she picked us back up when the inspection was complete. She was so nice! I really appreciated this gesture. That's going above and beyond for the customer. Our car was in perfect condition, which we expected because it's only 2 years old. That wouldn't stop some mechanics from trying to find something small wrong though. He was honest. I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys for automotive repair (if my car needed it, lol). Felt like I was chatting to friends! Definitely recommend!

The differential oils are black as well. The air SERVICE AIR BAG light came on a week after I left lot and has not gone off since. The guy at the lube place told me that all of these problems should have been dealt with but after looking at the check list, we both knew that this has NOT been done and to have it done now I am sure, is not something that Adams is willing to do. We spent 17,500.00 and there in a little over six months and were planning on buying a couple of more vehicles from them, but I am very disappointed now. I do not see the point in calling when the attitude after the cash exchanged hands left me with a "you are on your own" feeling.

I called around all the local places like Canadian Tire and so on, but nobody seemed to have a mechanic certified to do the inspection until I found Tirecraft. They were able to fit me in right away, and had the inspection done quickly and painlessly. The guys were super friendly and helpful and were happy to give me advice on the best time to put on winter tires in Edmonton. A couple months later I called/emailed around at least half a dozen local places looking for pricing on winter tire installation and storage. Tirecraft's prices came out the best of all the places I checked. Once again they were able to fit me in promptly and got the work done very quickly. While waiting for them to finish up near the end of the day on Friday, I saw two other customers come in without appointments within the last hour before closing, one to get winter tires on and the other for a tire pressure check and rebalancing before a long trip. Despite the lack of appointment, both customers were helped quickly and cheerfully and sent away happy. Despite the name, they also do other types of service besides just tires, so if you're looking for some work done, I'd recommend calling these guys for a quote also. Tip: if you have an hour or two to wait around for your car, the excellent restaurant The Workshop Eatery is a short walk away, and a very pleasant place to pass the time!

A couple weeks ago I got a notice in the mail about an ignition recall. Then my key fob (the clicky starter thing) stopped working. Since I only have one fob I booked myself an appointment to get it fixed and to get my recall handled. My car went in at 9am. Before I had been quoted $125 for the repair (the recall was obviously no charge). I was at work and got a text at noon that my repair was done. When I wrote back and asked how much everything would be I got back $55. What? Sweet deal. Apparently $125 is the price to replace the system, but since I just needed a new battery (and no reprogramming) I got the lower price. Nothing wrong with that. Hopefully I don't have to come back to Schwab for a while. The service and everything was nice there, but I just prefer to have a working car with no more recalls.

North AM was recommended by Co Operators insurance company. The estimate for the repair was quick and easy and approved by Co Operators the same day. Michael the owner told us the needed parts would come in a couple of days and they would prep the new lift gate and paint it to match our car. He said the repair would be done in one day once the prep was done. On Wednesday morning we took the car in around 10:30 AM. The next day on Thursday morning he called and told us the car was ready. The repair looks GREAT!!! We were very happy to find a place to do a quick and EXCELLENT repair on our car. We highly recommend North AM Autobody. FYI... if you are paying out of pocket... We had obtained other estimates and North AM was lower.

Lube City did just what I asked.. an oil change. No checking the transmission fluid and push to have it flushed ( as some companies do and push to change it when it is not necessary ). In other words.. do not upsell me on something that will not be needed . The service was very quick and the staff were great. Actually the guy I was talking to had a wicked sense of humor.. which is what I really like. He must have worked at another place, because every time he did something like check the tires, wipe the windshield, he kept saying " and that's another $5.. " . I sat in the car laughing while he kept doing his tasks. " You know it will cost you $10 for us to lower your hood ". I loved his sense of humor. Overall, I paid a bit over $100 for the service and will be definitely coming back to get the oil changes done. Finally, a place that wont gouge you for every dollar you got.

He used paintless dent removal on small dents, re painted hatch with large paint chip, and repaired rock chips on hood. They found some rust under chrome trim on edge of hood, and remedied that as well. They did a beautiful job of everything, came in on quote, with no extra charge for rust repair.
