I went in with my 13 month old and it's in an industrial area - so no malls in walking distance to kill time unfortunately. He asked his wife, who also works there to drive us in our car (car seat) to the new outlet mall to pass the time. And then she picked us back up when the inspection was complete. She was so nice! I really appreciated this gesture. That's going above and beyond for the customer. Our car was in perfect condition, which we expected because it's only 2 years old. That wouldn't stop some mechanics from trying to find something small wrong though. He was honest. I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys for automotive repair (if my car needed it, lol). Felt like I was chatting to friends! Definitely recommend!

The very next day she drove it as far as Red Deer before the check engine light came on again:/ She stopped at a nearby shop and got them to read the code. Catalytic converter failed again. I contacted KD, the owner of Icon, who said it was still fine for her to take to Banff and to bring it in when she got back. It drove like shit for her all weekend, absolutely no peace of mind!! So yesterday they had it back there and discovered the head gasket was leaking!! A quick google search tells me that a very common reason for a catalytic converter to fail in the first place is typically caused by a separate issue and a gasket leak is a likely cause:/ considering the new converter went within an hour of driving it again it's safe to assume the leak was already there. So now her $5000 car needs a $3000 repair (gasket) plus a new catalytic converter for $1100. I'm not willing to pay for that big repair and had my mechanic done his due diligence to find the root cause of the failed converter I wouldnt be out the $1300 for the original useless catalytic converter replacement and inspection!! They have refused to give me a refund and are not admitting to any wrong doing sending my daughter off on her first road trip in an unsafe vehicle!! Dont bring your vehicles here. Find a thorough, reliable, TRUSTWORTHY mechanic instead.

Well, I had high hopes for these guys. To start with, I have a AWD turbocharged mazdaspeed6 that…read moreneeded an exhaust and an instal of my downpipe due to an audible exhaust leak. I explained the easiest way to instal from all the online reviews and tips. I wanted someone else to instal my DP because it would have required me to lay on my garage floor and I don't own a hoist. Having said that, I would have also taken the top-mount intercooler plus the exhaust manifold off so you can plainly see the top of the downpipe as it attaches to the turbo. They seemed competent enough, and Blair put my mind at ease when he told me I could trust them. After instructing them to heat-wrap the entire DP when they instal, I left my car in their hands. The next day, after Blair texted me that they found the exhaust leak and it was fixed with the DP instal. The exhaust and instal cost $1350 which I felt was a little steep. The worst part was, exhaust leak stayed. The noise had changed slightly but was still there. I did a little investigating and thought I had it narrowed down until I removed the exhaust manifold heat shield. To my surprise, the DP was only installed with 3 of the 4 bolts. Good times. Then I noticed that the heat wrap didn't actually wrap the entire DP like I had asked. It was left unwrapped at the top of the DP for the last 5"....closest to the hottest part of the exhaust..... I called Blair and told him what I found. Granted, I was pretty upset, but I had a solution. Simply bring me the missing bolt so I could finish their job for them. He told me he couldn't due to renovations. He did however offer to reimburse me a cab ride to Home Depot so I could get a bolt. He offered to town my car to his shop and they would look at it also....I politely refused because I would find it impossible to trust them again. I mean, how long have their mechanics been taking shortcuts? Would they leave out a bolt on my oil-pan? Would they torque up the bolts on my wheels to the proper psi? I'm still pretty upset about this as my car threw it's first code after they did their "work." Honestly, I don't know if I'll ever get them to do work for me again....they had one job.....they didn't do it right. So far I've spent several hundred bucks trying to diagnose something that they made worse and in still no closer to fixing it. Now I need to go find another bolt for my DP as well as different mechanics. UPDATE. I basically parked my car after Blair and his boys worked on my car. I was looking for the exhaust leak and found several issues that happened. The mechanics only installed the downpipe with 3/5 bolts, not 3/4 bolts. They also left one bolt out that wasn't visible. I called Blair to tell him, he told me to fxxk off and threatened to call the police. Classy.... Then after I got the missing bolts in, I started the car and creeped it nervously out of my garage. It made a horrid scrapping noise. I raised the car to have a look underneath, and turns out the custom Y pipe that they built, was built incorrect because it was forcing the downpipe into my driveshaft, effectively scrapping a hole in the side if the DP with my driveshaft. Awesome. Minute muffler is the worst exhaust company that I've ever had work on my car. I will never go back or recommend anyone go there.
