I used Mares Cycle a couple times and at first, they did ok. No major service, just tires,…read morechain/sprockets, etc. Prices were unbeatable and turn around time was average at best. But, you get what you pay for. I was in the process of restoring a bike and it had a small oil leak. Gary quoted me a killer price and I took him up on it. Other than the oil leak, the bike ran perfectly... After 6 months I finally got the bike back in worse condition. The oil leak was worse, the carbs messed up and there was extra dings, scratches and one of my turn signals was broke off. Plus, Gary decided to take it upon himself to "fix" my timing, even though the bike ran perfectly. After he "fixed" the timing the bike never ran the same. It was twice as loud and lost most of it's power. Gary even admitted the timing was originally correct and he misread the manual. If you want little easy things done, use Mares Cycle, their prices can't be beaten... But for major work, STAY AWAY! Always remember, you get what you pay for. Word on the street was Mares closed down due to some shady practices. (Doesn't surprise me) As of March 2011, they are back in business, unfortunately.
