During that work, they discovered that the original installer had not followed code and had made several mistakes that could have been costly--or even dangerous. Mathews Plumbing corrected all of the substandard work, including the associated wallboard and painting repairs required for the Kohler project, and successfully cleared a difficult city inspection. They also followed all the rules of our high rise condo association. They also installed new kitchen fixtures and a whole‑house water monitoring and automatic shutoff system, giving us peace of mind against potential plumbing leaks. The repairs tied to the steam generator involved wallboard, tile, and paint, and their team were true artists--matching the tile, textured wallboard, and paint flawlessly. Everyone on the team was professional, respectful, and very pleasant to work with. They took the time to educate me on the challenges involved, trained me on proper maintenance, and consistently cleaned up after their work. I have nothing but praise for Mathews Plumbing and would highly recommend them.

He went above and beyond by running a camera through the pipes and showing us exactly what caused the clog. I'd be very cautious before using Schrader Plumbing. I had a horrible experience with them. 2…read moremonths ago I experienced a stoppage in my toilets. Based on the exceptional reviews, I called Schrader to come out and fix the problem. They sent technician Michael Badgley. I was initially given two quotes, one for roughly $800 and the other for $4,000. After a quick inspection of my home, Michael determined that he would have to dig a hole in the back yard at a cost of $5,700. While I didn't really understand how the quotes kept changing, I agreed to the scope of work as I'm not a plumbing expert and needed to get the stoppage resolved quickly. Bewildered, I later sent the receipt to my neighbor, who informed me that my house was pier and beam, not slab as it indicated on the quote. I recalled Michael asking me where the crawl space was and I wasn't able to identify it (my fault as an uniformed homeowner) although I showed him the area I thought it was in inside the master bedroom. He passed right over it without a second look. Later, after speaking with my neighbor, I was able to go over and find the crawl space myself easily. Michael fixed the pipe under the toilet in the main bathroom and then proceeded to tell me that I would need to replace all of the pipes at my house at a cost of $30k. He couldn't even assure me that the problem I had just handed over $5,700 for was fixed. The icing on the cake was the $100 bill that I had tucked into my lunch tote on the kitchen table in view of the technician, and when I returned later it was missing. That was certainly my own fault for leaving it unsecured. I was concerned about the entire process and wrote to the owner, John Schrader. I waited several days with no response to my email or phone calls, which spoke volumes to me as a customer. After my third attempt to contact him, I was finally passed off to a service advisor. I explained my concerns to him, that the crawl space was never properly identified and that I wasn't sure that the repair that was done was necessary. He offered me a refund of $750 "to remove my bad review" which I hadn't yet written. Less than 2 months later I experienced the same stoppage. I called Schrader again and was told that the pipes needed to be replaced. I finally called another plumber who identified the source of the stoppage, this time to be at the front of the house instead of the rear. They fixed the problem for only a fraction of what I paid to Schrader. He explained that the first repairs were unnecessary. If you like being robbed, by all means give Schrader Plumbing a call. I absolutely feel violated and taken advantage of as a single female homeowner. If you want to save your hard earned money and get the job done right, get a second opinion.

I was very pleased to find Legacy Plumbing who clearly had the best reviews for plumbing services in the Dallas area. I asked them to send their top-notch expert technician, and I was very fortunate that they sent Jason and his excellent assistant (Ricardo) to my home the next day. They carefully removed (and disposed of) my old water heater and did a beautiful job of installing the new one (it was made by A.O. Smith Corporation). The installation job required several hours but it was clearly done properly. During the entire installation process, Jason kept me well informed. I highly recommend Legacy Plumbing for any plumbing or water heater installation needs. This is a very professional company what goes out of its way to provide exceptional customer service. There was no sales pitch and no pressure. As I have always said, selecting a reputable company and high-quality equipment is important, but having it installed properly by a team of highly knowledgeable experts is the most important aspect of the job. Jason and his wonderful team did exactly that.

They did a great job however there wasn't any transparency on fees. I was not told there was a diagnostic fee from the scheduler nor from the crew that came to my home until afterwards. I explained that these diagnostic fees were not told to me when I scheduled the appointment and when the plumbers came to my home and I wasn't happy. He said he'd get back to me. Never heard back! FYI. There's more than just a service trip fee with this company' beware they charge for a diagnostic fee also.‍

Please read this review to the end. It's a tale of two very different owners (who are Irving,…read morefamily-owned businesses). I have mixed feelings about this company because the actual people that do their jobs are really helpful and nice. My family are lifetime Irving residents; I always try to use local (family-owned) businesses. Yesterday (7-18-25), my 86 year old mother (on social security) had 2 different issues that happened... one was that the thermostat was not working and the other issue was that the ice-maker was not working. I called the 2 Irving, family-owned, companies we have used in the past -- American Air Customs for the thermostat and Buy More Appliances for the ice-maker. The service rep, Joe, for American Air Customs came out and within 2 seconds realized that we had inserted the batteries incorrectly when changing them in the thermostat (late the night before). Let me say that Joe is very nice and has been to my mom's house many times. This is not about Joe, or the people that answer the phones. My mom called me after Joe left and was extremely upset because she was charged $90 for him being there 2 seconds and switching the batteries around. Almost at the same time, Martin Rodriguez, the OWNER of Buy More Appliances, showed up to look at the ice-maker. He looked over everything and realized the temperature had been changed and made a few other adjustments. When my mom asked what she owed him, he said nothing. He said he likes to take care of his customers and it was an easy fix. We have used him previously and he has helped my mom save money before. He has actually called Samsung for her and got them to cover a part!! THAT is customer service (especially for the elderly)!!! Back to Ron, owner of American Air Customs... I called him to find out why my mom was charged $90 for a 2 second battery fix. He informed me that it was the service charge for coming out. I get that there is usually a service charge... we have paid it many times to them. We have been a loyal customer for 4 years and have even had them install an HVAC system in her house ($$$$). I pay them yearly to come out and check my mom's system in the winter and summer! When I tried to talk to him about helping her out this once with the service call fee, he became extremely gruff and irritated and informed me that he would even charge his own mother-in-law a service call fee and that he would NOT be reducing or removing the fee! He said they had to pay for gas and insurance.... ummm, I get that... but we are both in Irving! Is he paying $90 for gas to drive across Iring??? Anyway, he was extremely rude! When I informed him that we would be cutting out service with them in the future and finding another company, told me GOOD LUCK! They have plenty of good reviews... but I doubt they have had to deal with the owner of the company much! I don't think their reviews would be so good! Again, Joe and the ladies hat work there are all very nice and helpful. But, really, he couldn't waive a $90 fee (or even reduce it) for a loyal, Irving, customer, that is elderly and on social security??? Martin Rodriguez, owner of Buy More Appliances, didn't even hesitate to waive his fee for my mom! When I called him to thank him, he said he just wants to take care of his loyal customers!!! THAT IS GOOD, AND SMART, BUSINESS!!!!

AAC's prices were so competitive I was really surprised. Much lower than some of those big outfits that advertise on the radio. You know I called *my* AC heroes at American Air Customs! 4/26/2012: We've used American Air Customs for residential HVAC service on several occasions. Service has always been professional and personable. Greg and his team have been very responsive - even in the middle of our hot 2011 summer! Prices? Competitive! We'll keep using AAC.
