Robin was a trooper in managing Kali while we were gone. She sent us regular texts and a photo, which helped us stay involved with Kali. I highly recommend her. The rates are reasonable and competitive. Robin of Peaceable Pets did a great job caring for our cat Kali recently. This is a review for dog walking, doggy daycare, and dog boarding…read more I found Peaceable Pets after a very thorough vetting (I am convinced I should have been cast in the movie Best in Show--yes, that is how much of a crazy dog lady I consider myself). Time and again, people on the Ann Arbor Dog Owners Facebook group mentioned Peaceable Pets. I read all the reviews, stalked Peaceable Pet's Facebook page (where Robin posts videos of her guests and informative articles about all things animals), scrutinized the information on her website, did a meet and greet with Marcy, our dog walker, a play date at the Dellwood Doggy Ranch (required for doggy daycare and boarders). I give it 10/10 stars. Peaceable Pets is an Ann Arbor treasure. You will not find someone more knowledgeable about dogs than Robin. Some reasons I love what Robin offers: 1. She understands my dog's unique personality, quirks, and needs. 2. She prioritizes the safety, well-being, and quality of life for my dog. 3. The pick-up and drop-off times worked well with my schedule, which was variable for a while, and then predictable for another while. 4. I trust her 100%. 5. Every time I bring Hagrid to her, he bounds toward her and doesn't even look back to say goodbye. Every dog parent knows that is a good sign. 6. Hagrid is calm and content when he returns from daycare. ...I could go on and on. As for dog walking, Marcy was wonderful and reliable. A few times I bumped into Marcy while I was walking Hagrid and saw his entire body language and vocalization over his joy of seeing Marcy. There is no stronger endorsement than that, in my opinion. To top it all off, Robin and Marcy have really interesting personalities, back stories, and talents when they are not caring for our beloved animals. Marcy speaks French. Robin sings in a band. They are the absolute best.

So the owner wrote back pretty quickly, soon after I inqired. She answered all of my questions. But…read moreshe first said that the cost was $25 for an hour. Then I asked if I could "split it into 2 -1/2 slots) Then she told me that the "actual time spent with my animal is usually 30-40 minutes". My cat was rescued from a hoarders house, she has PTSD. I can't afford them to come twice at 50.00 per day. I've researched that the going rate is $12-$15 per 30 minute visit with your pet.?? I can't afford that kind of price at $25 for only 30-40 minutes! I decided not to go with them because I found family and friends to pet-sit for us this time. I do need a permanent solution, though. The woman who emailed was kind enough. She told me all about how they have all of these good ratings and such. But I felt deceived because she first said $25 per hour. I would've paid that if THAT was time spent with my pet while I'm away. But then it changed to me paying for "travel time"(when she'd said they had 4 people right nearby my home, in my town). Why do I pay travel time for someone who lives in the same town? I didn't really like that so much. Also, I was not happy that when I wanted to split the "hour" into 2 x 1/2 hours, I was then told I was truly only getting 30 minutes with & for my pet. Plus paying for travel to and from my home. I don't pay travel time for any other services ?? (Plumber, maid service, lawn service etc.) I will keep looking for a more permanent solution.... ***I saw the response from this company. I did not say anything untrue or unkind. I only stated my own interactions & why I did not choose them. * I want to reiterate that I did not use this company because of the reasons stated above. I I've been an elite Yelper for 10 years. I would never say anything which I did not experience first hand. I only wrote my review about my own interactions with this company. I wanted the perspective customers to know how my interactions with thIs company went. I wanted them to know how this company works. I also decided to add one more star because they were kind enough when I inquired.

Your pets are in safe hands if you board with Dr. Karr and Cyd!…read more I boarded our corgi here for the first time ever after my friend (who has also left a review here) raved about Dr. Karr. We have a situation where our dog requires 5 different types of eye medication, three times a day in his eyes. So that means someone has to be able to give him the meds at night around 9 or 10. Until I heard about this place, the only place in town who could do this is Petsmart. No other boarding place has someone working there late at night. Cyd told me this wasn't even an issue and of course they'd be able to give him his meds whenever we said he needed them. So it was a non-issue. Unheard of. I spoke to them on the phone a few times and they reassured me Gryff would be in good hands. First off, they take your dog out six times a day. Without a charge. That's just normal and routine. This is UNHEARD OF, people. You're lucky if your dog can be let out more than twice and they get to be outdoors. Not in a room like at Petsmart. You also have the option to let your dog be taken out in a group of other dogs (so they get some play time) or they can go out with just the people. Since our dog is getting a little older, playing with other dogs is hit or miss. To prevent this, they just spent more time with him and said he was great! I've also been told by people at Petsmart that my dog gets put in "time out" because he'd bark at other dogs. He's a mediator. That's a trait of corgis; big dog in a small dog body. But they took it as him being "aggressive" and he wasn't allowed in the group plays. At Pittsfield Pet Care, Cyd told me he was fine. Sure, they spent more time with him than him with other dogs, but they said he was totally fine. I have to trust two people who know and understand dogs over a kid working in a pet store. Dr. Karr is a licensed vet so if something happens there is someone there who will be able to take care of them. This is extremely reassuring. Given our dog's medical history, and a slight toe injury he was getting over, it was good to know he'd be in good hands should anything happen. Bottom line: board your pet here. They're going to be in compassionate dog people who know, understand and love dogs like their own. Their rate is great too ($30/night) and we only had a pay an additional fee per day because of the amount of medicine he needs. The facility is clean, which is a big thing on my list too. Drop-off and Pick-up was a breeze and these two people are two of the most friendly and wonderful people I have met.

She was hired…read moreto feed our pets at their regular meals times, clean the cat boxes, stay over night and visit mid day so they had company, and play with the puppy rather than walk him, she also offered to bring in the mail. One star for bringing in the mail! This was a horrible experience. I failed my kitties and pup. Things started off fine, she seamed knowledgeable and had experience. She didn't go out of her way to interact with the puppy or cats she was more business, what we needed and would it fit her schedule, where do they eat, litter boxes kept etc... She thought she would need extra time for the mid day visit because of the # of litter boxes and to walk our pup, so we agreed to pay extra, we also agreed to pay an extra $3.00. per day for gas because we are farther out than she usually works? We are in Ann Arbor, she says she care for pets in Ypsi and Ann Arbor. I should have said no thanks at that point but gas has gone up it was only $3.00. I realized the day we left for the airport things may not be ok and I was going to have to check in to make sure she was doing her job. She is a grown person with a business, I shouldn't have to baby sit her! The 13 days started with her showing up early when we were still home? She said she would come back soon. I commented no hurry they don't eat for another couple of hours. 1st red flag. I had emailed, and spoke to her about the feeding schedule multiple times, she said it was "no problem", it's why I hired her. The following week was one ridiculous question after another making me worry more. When she sent pictures, she would ask things a person with 20 years experience with animals should know. I then finally had to question her multiple times about why she was running late and remind her we could see her come and go on the doorbell to get her to start showing up on time. No reason or apology was ever given just everything is fine. It was not fine, my pets were being stressed by having their schedule changed both meals and potty breaks for our pup. I was so angry with her for not caring about them but what do you do when you are in another country and she has already taken your money, has your house keys and access to your pets. I also could't afford to hire a new sitter after paying her $1,980.00. We spent the first day home from vacation doing a deep clean of the house, our house trained pup peed in the hallway three times! It was so dry and crusted from different day for sure. The house smelled so bad! The cat boxes were clean but smelled like they had been sitting dirty for a while and absorbed the small, everything had to be cleaned. I reviewed her bill, yes after I had left a check and saw I was charged $9.00 per day for gas and possibly something else, the bill was all over the place and only partially what we talked about. I don't think she did the long afternoon visits. I then had to ask multiple times for my key back, it took three weeks after our vacation to get it, and wanted to come pick up a step stool she left at our house that she sat on to clean the cat boxes. I thought it was a donation because it was near a box of donations my son had set out besides I didn't want to see her again! Our last Communication was after I ask for my key again and told her I would pick it up at the P.O.box if she was actually going to drop off this time. She sent me a list of her company policies about returning keys with the policies and the charges! I wanted to say, oh now you want to follow policy! I told her I was not going to pay for the return of my key after so long and I shouldn't have to keep asking. She replied she didn't say she wold charge me and finally returned the key. Ridiculous and unprofessional! I didn't bother to ask about the overcharges, I have found a wonderful sitter and warn everyone about her company and to not trust Ann Arbor pet sitters list. I did a lot more leg work to find our new sitter and did't take advice from next door.
