So the owner wrote back pretty quickly, soon after I inqired. She answered all of my questions. But she first said that the cost was $25 for an hour. Then I asked if I could "split it into 2 -1/2 slots) Then she told me that the "actual time spent with my animal is usually 30-40 minutes". My cat was rescued from a hoarders house, she has PTSD. I can't afford them to come twice at 50.00 per day. I've researched that the going rate is $12-$15 per 30 minute visit with your pet.?? I can't afford that kind of price at $25 for only 30-40 minutes! I decided not to go with them because I found family and friends to pet-sit for us this time. I do need a permanent solution, though. The woman who emailed was kind enough. She told me all about how they have all of these good ratings and such. But I felt deceived because she first said $25 per hour. I would've paid that if THAT was time spent with my pet while I'm away. But then it changed to me paying for "travel time"(when she'd said they had 4 people right nearby my home, in my town). Why do I pay travel time for someone who lives in the same town? I didn't really like that so much. Also, I was not happy that when I wanted to split the "hour" into 2 x 1/2 hours, I was then told I was truly only getting 30 minutes with & for my pet. Plus paying for travel to and from my home. I don't pay travel time for any other services ?? (Plumber, maid service, lawn service etc.) I will keep looking for a more permanent solution.... ***I saw the response from this company. I did not say anything untrue or unkind. I only stated my own interactions & why I did not choose them. * I want to reiterate that I did not use this company because of the reasons stated above. I I've been an elite Yelper for 10 years. I would never say anything which I did not experience first hand. I only wrote my review about my own interactions with this company. Pet Nanny used to care for my cat for my vacation week. Got to meet sitter beforehand to go over details. Everything went really well. Cat was not stressed when I came home. Was well cared for. She got attention and was fed properly. Sitter sent pictures and even watered my plants. Very satisfied. read more

Before finding Pet Nanny, I used to take my cat Feebie to a boarding service. The last time I left here there, she had severe anxiety issues. When I picked her up, she had actually chewed through her skin and had a gaping, open wound that required surgery to repair. I then used Pet Nanny the next time I went out of town. Janet Connor is wonderful! I had a pet sitter named Morgan that took care of my cat Feebie. The daily reports that Morgan left after I arrived home were so cute, and I was confident that Feebie had a good time while I was gone. I could see that she had all the attention that I would have given her if I was home. Sadly, Feebie passed on a few months ago due to health problems that were untreatable. But, I will always be grateful for the excellent care that Morgan gave Feebie; I would confidently recommend Pet Nanny very highly to anyone! I needed a pet sitter for my two cats, and decided to go with a professional service, since my last experience with my friend's twentysomething daughter ended in a broken window. This was a last-minute getaway, and Jan was able to line up a sitter with just three days notice. Gladys was our sitter, and she came over for a consultation. She was so thorough during the meeting that I felt completely comfortable leaving my cats with her. They both came out to inspect the new person, and they warmed up to Gladys right away. I think cats just know. When we got home, Gladys had left a detailed report on what she did during her visit - feeding the cats, cleaning the litter boxes, and playing with the them. She had cleaned up after herself, washing the utensils she used to get the cat food. Gladys brought in the mail, and would have watered the plants if I had any. Finding out about Pet Nanny was the best thing that's ever happened to me. I scheduled an interview on super short notice but Emma and Jan were incredibly kind and flexible. I get so nervous when I leave my sweet girl but I seriously didn't have any reservations about leaving Pet Nanny in charge. Emma took such great care of my baby and sent me pictures every day. I thought this was a great concept as opposed to taking my cat to be boarded where it would cause my pet more stress than just leaving her home. I thought it was a bit pricy- $25 for a 30 minute visit, but for the convenience it was worth it to me. Everyone was professional and nice and they could accommodate my requests at short notice. I thought they were great.. until they lost my house key. They never called to tell me and it wasn't until I called to set up an appointment that I was informed. I know mistakes happen but provided my house key was lost who knows where and who knows with who I would have thought informing me should be a priority. I will never use them again because of this. read more

We were so lucky to find Pet Nanny when we did. Before our first scheduled visit, our walker, Lindsey, came to our house to meet our dog and get acclimated with our home. She was very professional and I felt very comfortable with her coming to our house when we weren't there. When we are in a bind, Pet Nanny is there to help us out so we don't have to worry about our dog being left alone for too long. We always get a nice note and, more importantly, peace of mind! I have never had any trouble scheduling with the main office, either -- all emails are returned promptly, and there is even an option to pay via PayPal so I don't have to scrounge together cash to leave at home. We are so happy we found Pet Nanny to watch our wonderfully spoiled cat. In the past, when we have gone on vacation, our cat would get boarded, which for a cat who is not used to being in a cage and is used to lots of individual attention, is not a good situation. We contacted Pet Nanny before our last vacation, and almost immediately scheduled our introductory visit with Jen. Jen worked around our schedule and got familiar with our environment and our cat before we left for our vacation. While we were on vacation, she sent us detailed text updates from every visit so we weren't worried. We got home to a stack of written notes and a very happy cat. I used Pet Nanny for the first time this past week when I was out of the country. I was a little nervous because I had never left my pet with anyone other than friends. I will never leave my cat with anyone else again. They were extremely professional, easy to use and I know my pet was well cared for. When I spoke with the owner initially I could tell that she was passionate and loved pets and her business. Stacy was my sitter and she sent me a picture of my pet while I was gone and left the most detailed notes. I have used Pet Nanny in Livonia for over 5 years. It is the best service I have ever had. The sitter plays with the dogs and leaves me notes on what they did while I was gone. Recently I had several more dogs and the sitter did a great job. They are dependable and honest. Two years ago I had to leave for a family emergency. I am just thrilled with Pet Nanny! They take wonderful care of my little kids (2 cats) and I love that my cats can stay at home where they are most comfortable. Jan is always quick in response to my requests for service and service has always been available anytime I have needed it. The service is very reliable and I completely trust them in my home and with my pets. I have had the same pet sitter each time (David) and he has gotten to know the cats very well. He plays with them while I am away and leaves me cute little notes about what fun the cats had while I was gone. You can tell that he really cares about the animals he takes care of.
