I have been taking my pets to Dr. Hott since 2010. When one of my frenchies was suffering from severe skin allergies Dr. Hott suggested we start over and change his diet. He could have recommended a more costly treatment for the allergies but he didn't. He started with the most conservative treatment and started with a process of eliminating the cause. I've had pets my whole life. Dr Hott and his staff are hands down, the BEST I've ever experienced. His first priority is what is best for the animal. He partners with the client. Doesn't tell you what to do, gives you options and works with the client on a treatment plan. When one of my pets has had an acute illness, Dr Hott or one of the staff calls to check on the patient. The most important factor when finding a vet is looking for a place where the staff is compassionate. This place is it. Everything else is just secondary. This is the best staff out of any vet I have been to, and that is saying a lot as I'm very picky over who takes care of my fur babies. The only downside, which I would never mark them down for as it isn't their fault is that for now you can't go into the clinic with your pet. I understand this is a state issue, but it is hard when your pet is already scared or sick. Again, not their fault, just a tough situation during covid. I recommend this place to anyone who loves their pets. They have even done house calls when necessary! read more

Colonial Vet was recommended to us by our daughter's doctor for their pet grooming. It's less than $50 to groom a medium-hair cat. This was much better for our budget than what we saw some of the chain stores charging. The poor cat had not been brushed regularly since the baby was born, and the mats around her tail were getting out of hand. The price was right, and they did a great job. I look forward to going back soon when the cat is due for her vaccinations. read more

I love them! They are extremely friendly, thorough, reasonably priced, accommodating, and my dog has been calm on her visits, even on the 1st one. What a change from our old vet! So glad we switched! The best part is their follow up. Our dog's visits have so far always been followed up by multiple calls, just to see how she was doing, and to see if we had any questions. Was exposed to Colonial when we got our puppy in Dec. Later we ended up needing to take one of our parakeets there as well. Emeril, the parakeet, didn't make it and we were so touched to receive a handwritten sympathy card signed by the whole staff. As others have said - everyone is caring and kind. We have seen both Dr. Walker and Dr. Low and we absolutely love them both. Our cat was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and both Doctors have been incredibly helpful. Every time I stop in to pick up medication the staff always asks how our cat is doing and every time we have to bring her in they give her all kinds love and attention. We wouldn't imagine taking our baby anywhere else! read more

We love Colonial Vet. Everyone there is wonderful and so caring. They are extreamly knowledgeable and our beagles actually like going to their vet appointments. They are reasonably priced and are honest when it comes to what is really needed for your pet (they don't push for unnecessary procedures like another vets office we went to). When we needed a last minut kennel because our regular one closed their doors they were more than accommodating and treated our dogs like family. They only kennel for clients and it costs about the same as every other overnight boarding. Going to miss them when we move out of state. read more

I was having issues getting ahold of my old vet so I brought my St. Bernard puppy in to be seen. BIG MISTAKE. She had a fatty bump on her head which ended up being okay but then I was told she need a lot of other things. So $350 some dollars later they finally bring my dog back to me. I didn't get to see the vet at all so I have no idea what any of them look like. I appreciate the vet tech's but everyone else seemed like I was wasting their time. I am STILL being harassed for money for a visit that I was specifically told would be added to the charge of her spay when she was ready to have it. They keep calling, texting, and sending letters to my home. I don't have the money right now and I was told it was going to be charged with her spay. Everything is so expensive and I try to get her top of the line things but we struggle sometimes. They made me feel like a bad owner when I had to buy a product that was a little cheaper. The way they spoke to me made me feel like hot wet garbage. That's not even the worst part. I brought her in a second time because she was limping. The vet blew me off and specifically said "Well I guess I see a limp" gave her dog Motrin and sent us on her way. She was still limping so I finally got ahold of our old vet. SHE TORE HER ACL. My poor baby has been limping around with a torn ACL because the doctor was too negligent to observe her a little closer. I don't have the money to pay them because I have to pay my current vet for her ACL treatment. Bottom line: NEGLIGENT EXPENSIVE HARASSING JUDGEMENTIAL read more

Dr Hott and his staff are fantastic! We are never waiting in a lobby past our appointment time, he takes the time to answer all questions whether it's in an appointment or over the phone, and they even make follow up phone calls to make sure our cats are okay after appointments. I just took my second cat to this vet. As of today, 2 days later, I am still up in the air about this place. Mainly because of the nurse who insisted on holding my cat so she would get bit instead of me, just in case. My problem was that she does not hold her very well and when the Dr went to give her the shot she was moving all around with the needle inside her. I did not like this. My cat was so upset they couldn't even get her temperature. My advice is, insist on holding your own cat , not the nurse. read more

Ever since he came out in the middle of the night to help a llama in our neighborhood who was attacked by a coyote, Dr. Hott has been our veterinarian. He takes his time to educate us on any problem with our dogs and his staff is very caring. We wouldn't consider using anyone else. read more
