Once the massage started, she did a kind of body scan and she worked on all my tense areas. It was a deep tissue massage that definitely hurt but was very worth it. She made sure to ask if the pressure was okay each time it got intense and I told her yes (I can handle pain), I'm sure that if I asked to go softer she would but I was just letting her do her thing and trusting the process. I wanted to see what it was like the first time since I'll be returning for more sessions. This massage was nothing like the "regular" massage you get at one of those massage parlors where they have a routine and go about the appointment. Nancy took the time to focus on areas that I didn't even know needed to be worked on and I felt like complete jelly afterwards. She even did some cupping (my first time) and used this vibrating massage pad (heaven), my nose got stuffed halfway through and she put on some eucalyptus oil to open up my airways (very thoughtful). Nancy seems very intuitive to what your body needs so I'm sure that each massage she gives is going to be individualized to your body.
