Located in a strip mall sandwiched between a Juan Pollo and a MMA martial arts place is this foot massage place. I had called ahead on a Tuesday for an 8 PM hot stone massage. Upon walking in, the gentleman I spoke to greeted me, and showed me a menu of services. I selected the combo, which is a foot/leg, scalp and back massage. The majority of the services at this place are in semi private rooms, sectioned off by curtains, not in one big open room like in the Bolsa area. My particular room had 3 walls, adjustable lighting, but instead of a door, had a thick curtain which gave me semi privacy, but not noise protection. - During my massage, I could hear the serene spa music, unfortunately, as well as footsteps of the other guests and staff passing my room. - I could also hear the rolling of chairs, most likely from other masseuse massaging other clients in nearby rooms. - My room was also close to the men's and women's bathroom, so when someone flushed, I could hear a VERY loud flushing sound. - I think my room was also close to the staff break room. I could hear clicking sounds, almost like dice or dominoes, similar to the sound of someone playing Mah Jong. - And, I could hear conversation of the staff, speaking in chinese. Another annoying part of my massage was the mutliple, sudden breaks in my treatment. My masseuse would massage my arms, then disappear for two or three minutes to get gloves, so he can massage my feet. Midway through my massage, as I was being prepared to turn over, I open my eyes to see two people! Apparently they were changing masseuses halfway through my treatment? Now that's something I've never experienced!! From a guy to a gal, with 2 totally different techniques. My new person started working on my back, then she disappeared for two or three minutes to get the hot stones. Then she'd disappear to get the warm towel to wipe off excess oils. My entire treatment was stop and go, which wasn't very relaxing. Although the techniques both people use worked great on my knots, I was not satisfied at the tempo of my experience. I'm giving 3 1/2 stars (above average) for the privacy they provided, cleanliness of the place, and the affordability.. My Combo cost $35, much cheaper than any American day spa. I had a good massage for $40 in a private room, but with a curtain and not a door. A lady did my massage and she was good. Her hands weren't as firm as I wanted though. I didn't get her name but she was maybe in her late 30s/early 40s, a bit chubby set with a homey/sweet smile. She was a professional and never left the room except once to get warm towels to wipe me off. The hot stones came a bit early on the massage and didn't feel all that great...although the stones were very hot which I like. She had some technique around the back shoulders and the butt area. But my neck, arms and especially the legs felt a bit abandoned..or perhaps I just didn't feel it very well. Next time I might ask for a guy since I like firmer massages. My back was aching so I really wanted a thorough massage and thought the $40 one with the oil (warm oil) would be the best option. However, some ppl might not be very comfortable since you do have to be fully naked for this. And she really massaged by "behind" very well...not sure if I would be comfortable with a man massaging my behind the way she did. Her hands were bare...which I like better than gloves on. This would be something to think about. For $40 I wish it was a little better...and I missed having a foot massage... I loooove this place. they have great service and great prices. the rooms are semi private. they are divided by drapes, and I believe you can request an actual room with doors. I went with a girlfriend and they were able to open the drape so it was one big room. while my friend found the music depressing, I found it very relaxing. you'll most likely hear foot steps and the rolling chairs but I mean what do you expect? When I arrived with my husband there was an older man who said they wouldn't be ready until 4. We weren't happy but agreed to return. We hung out at Savers for twenty minutes. When we walked back in there was a younger man at the desk. He gave us a nervous laugh and said "he thought you weren't coming back." Obviously they weren't prepared for us. Terrible service. I just had one of the best massages ever. Perfect pressure and never felt rushed. One thing I don't like is when the rooms are separated by curtains and not private. It can be noisy hearing conversation elsewhere. But overall, I'm looking forward to my next visit... but it will be for longer than an hour next time. The location and the place itself isn't very attractive, but the quality of the massage is what I come here for. It doesn't seem like a lot of people come here and it's a little far for me, but I keep coming back because they are just so good. I always get the basic "foot" massage. I am only giving them one star because I have to!! I am completely UNCOMFORTABLE and maybe even a little EMBARRASSED at the kind of service that they give. I would go here at least once a week if not more when I could, so they knew me! He said there was no one else available and I only had 25 minutes left, I needed to get stronger and take it cuz it was good for my body but I could take a break if I wanted for 5 minutes. I was FRUSTRATED and just told him to be softer and continue because either way I was going to have to pay for it. So I finished but it was the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had there. Still with going to them for a long time as I got up I told myself I would still go back, but just make sure I didn't get him again. UNTIL, I went to go pay and that changed everything. I go to pay and then again being a regular I always gave them a ten dollar tip but this time there was no way I was going to. I asked for change and they said no, ten dollar. I said no, I know I always do but not for him, he was horrible and hurt me. They said no change. So I said if no change then, no tip. They said no, and I began to walk out and they started yelling at me and following me. I said no I refuse to give him a ten dollar tip, so give me change and I will give him a couple dollars. He said no dollars, ten dollar only. So I walked out and he walked out and watched me as he yelled at me all the way to my car and I waved as I drove off. Tip is NOT something that is required. If you want more money then up your prices that are required to pay for service, but a tip is NOT required and will NOT be paid if the SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND UNCOMFORTABLE, a tip is something that is EARNED depending on the service! This place is very inconsistent. Depends on who does the massage. I would skip the $20 foot massage as it is not that great over here. I have experienced better ones in Monterrey Park.They offer the $40 body massage which comes with hot stones. You have to strip down to your underwear. I came here on a sunday evening and was able to be seen right away. I paid $30 where i was taken to a private room, given a one hour massage, and hot stone massage. The pressure of the massage was just perfect. Yoyo made sure to ask me at the beginning of my massage about the pressure of the massage. I have paid more than $75 per massage at massage spas and i would have to say it is the same thing. Of course at a fancy massage spas, they speak english and you are in a private room with a door. But for $30, it well worth the savings. Mind you, you get what you pay for. The lady did leave the room several times to get the hot towels and hot stones. I got a body massage, the one that was $40, and the massage itself was spectacular! Definitely different than I get elsewhere! I did feel a tad bit uncomfortable because I had to unhook my bra, and a guy was doing my massage, but after all it was a massage (not reflexology which I guess is the difference between the two). I would like to try the "foot massage" next time which I believe still gets to the entire body but with clothes on, which I feel more comfortable with. Plus that one is only $20. My only complaint is that they do NOT understand English. It makes it so much harder to communicate what you want, like which massage and how. I then proceeded to tell the lady some key areas, she massages the areas I asked for then moves to a completely different area. That was frustrating! Needless to say this massage was a waste of my time and money! I must have been next to a break room or something. All I heard were people talking, walking by and loud music playing. Who has music that loud when people are trying to get a massage? How can you relax when there is music bumping? Shit was ridiculous!!! The worst is yet to come! When the massage was over, the lady said she was done and left the room. I got my belongings and proceeded to leave the facility. So, over the phone, I asked the guy for someone who didn't smoke. I can't stand the smell of stinky cigarette fingers, let alone on my face! I think the same guy I spoke with ended up massaging me, and yes, he had smokers' fingers!!! That was strike 1, then one of the women that worked there decided to take her dinner break, great, but I could have done without the lip smacking, cow chewing and plate clanking, ugh so annoying, that was strike 2. Now 3, I enjoy hearing the relaxing music they usually have, but because the gym next door had music blaring, they didn't even have theirs on. I had to ask them to play relaxing music to try to drown the relentless thumping of the gym's music; he barely put the volume up. 4, when he was done massaging my leg/hip, he upruptly yanks my leg down from a folded position and just drops it, causing me to react due to a sharp pain. He at least noticed my reaction and was much more gentle with my other leg. Now, here's the kicker #5, so now they ask for payment up-front; normally, it's payment upon service, right? Okay, I figured how sad they've been burned by walkouts so my husband and I paid $30 each for our foot massages. As we are done, my husband hands each masseurs $5 as a tip, a little over 15%. Keep in mind that a tip is discretionary, not law, mandatory, or obligatory for that matter. But the lip smacking cow chewing female has the audacity to tell us, "it's a minimum $10 tip," HA! They are lucky they even got $10 for the both of us! They literally tried to bully us into giving them more. My husband guided me out before I started telling them why the heck I then had a headache after my experience there. Thanks, stinkey smoke fingers! Maybe they should've asked us how our service was. Pros: -1 hour full body massage with hot stones was only $35 for first time customers -massage was thorough and my body feels good now! But... Cons: -the pain in my neck/shoulder region is coming back again. I told him from the get go to focus on this region, I wish he would have spent more time on neck/shoulders than butt/legs.
